I came to meet a lady which starts with letter B from the Banquet office. I came on Sunday more than a week ago today. She told me someone will reach out to me regarding a quote for a party. Until now I never heard anything. I feel like she is a racist and and thinks at people so low. I would not celebrate anything in this place because first impression lasts. It seems like she doesn't want to work because it's a Sunday. She is there to milk time but not to work or help customers. Zero star for customer service because of that woman. read more

Our wedding was a month ago, and it was absolutely amazing! From the vendors, to the food, our big day was definitely one to remember. I LOVED not having to search for vendors, which alloted time for other planning details. We did have two choices for flowers and cake, but we loved the final outcome! Thankfully, we had made most of our decisions with the vendors before an unexpected move out of state, but all of the vendors remained available and communicative. We received compliments on the food, service and ambiance. We loved all of our vendors in the package and felt the value we received was unparallel. Trust me, we looked at other venues in the area that basically, only included food, with a lesser appealing view, for at least $5k more! Also, we initially met Gordon before he retired and we appreciated him sitting down with us to review the package. Unlike a certain other golf venue down the road, where we were handed a folder, while asking questions under the sun, and were then told, "All of the info. is in the folder". Seriously, why bother making an appointment then? Back to BB, Ed and Tina are super friendly and will surpass all of your expectations. Ed, you are such a great person to work with and your passion really shows. Thank you both for helping us with our dream wedding! This was my second time playing Bears Best and it was a disappointment. For a course that bares Jack's name, the course should have been in much better shape. I'll be honest. I got a 220pm round here via teeoff.com DEAL TIMES + promo code for $52 dollars so i do not have too much to complain about. But i know and you know plenty of people and tourists played there this month paying 100-175$ and that should be a crime. Green were very long and CHOPPY. SLOW, especially for Vegas standards. Sand in bunkers on front 9 were like concrete. Design and layout are great. Conditions are not. Hence, id say past rounds at Arroyo, Desert Pines, LV National, and even Tuscany were superior. Worst experience, rude staff. Took my 11yr old today to chip and putt as this is a Public Course, after he hit 3 balls a staff member came and asked if he was a range card holder, I told him no that he just came to chip and putt, plus we brought our own balls and the staff member told me he couldn't be there. It's unfortunate that they treat juniors this way, instead of helping in the love for the game. I've taken my child to so many courses including Siena, TPC Las Vegas were they don't do these things. Actually we are at TPC Las Vegas and he's putting and chipping on a beautiful practice facility without having to deal with rude staff! I've played this course a few times but after this experience I won't be going back. We arrived and dropped our bags at the bag drop (no attendant around). We paid our green fees then went to get our carts. The starter told us our golf carts would be "turned on" at our tee time. We told the starter we wanted to take the carts to the bag drop and get our bags. He acted irritated with us and told us the attendant would bring our clubs to the golf cart. We waited 10 minutes but no golf bags. We wanted to hit some balls on the range before we played so we went to the bag drop and carried our bags back and loaded them onto the carts. I asked the starter why the carts were restricted until our tee time...he acted irritated that I asked the question and mumbled something about "new management". When our tee time came, the starter drove over to us and asked if we were ready in a VERY condescending tone. He gave us instructions like we were in grade school and told us to go play. We were all kind of looking at each other thinking the starter was an ass but we decided to put it behind us and go play. The course was NOT in good shape. The fairway grass was extremely long and shaggy. The tee boxes were in the same condition. The sand traps lacked sufficient sand. Any time you tried to hit out of the trap, your club hit the hard pan under the thin layer of sand. This used to be one of my favorite courses to play when in Vegas. Came here for the first time to watch my daughter play golf for her school . Keep in mind at every other golf location we've been to we paid for cart and were allowed to rent carts to go along the path to support our children in this amazing sport. But not at Bear Best golf course This is the only place that did not allow me to rent a cart. The gentleman said they are simply not renting out to the tournament. I can either walk or just wait. I'm sorry just isn't fair. I'm willing to pay. I'm trying to encourage and support my child bring her snacks and water. read more

It is most unfortunate that I felt unwelcome by a recent event at Bear's Best golf course. Today, November 5, I had a 7:22 a.m. tee time as a guest. I went in the office and paid prior to the tee time, and was confronted after teeing off on the second hole by the cashier at the time, James, questioning whether or not I had paid. After informing him multiple times, he insisted that I show proof of payment, as well as asking who checked me in. At this time, I produced my receipt with his name for checking me in and collecting payment. This made me feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed in front of my peers, I being the only person of African descent amongst the group. At no time did he ask anyone else in my group for proof of payment nor did he offer an apology. To avoid this situation in the future, James, and any other employee, should be addressing this matter prior to heading to the first tee. If I return to Bear's Best, I hope that this was just an oversight from James and he will address this situation differently and with proper courtesy in the future. read more

Bear's Best was my first golfing experience in Las Vegas and it couldn't have been better (unless I shot under par...hahaha). The course is absolutely beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The views standing on the tee boxes are fantastic. This is a must play for anyone visiting Vegas. I played with a very good set of rental clubs (Callaway Mavric woods and Apex irons with an odyssey putter). This course is first rate and it's hard to believe it's a public course. Absolutely top notch wedding in every way. We just had our wedding at Bear's Best and they exceeded every single one of our expectations. We flew out here from the east coast to be married and are so happy with our decision. Ed and Tina helped more than we could have ever imagined, both before and during the wedding, and were an absolute pleasure to work with. All of our family and friends said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and are still talking about it. VENUE: The venue was absolutely beautiful. Our ceremony was held outside with the mountains in the background and it was gorgeous. Ed laid out flowers on the ground and we had the columns at the altar and it looked perfect. The ceremony ended just before sunset and timed perfectly for our photos. From what we heard the cocktail hour was great, and then the reception was perfect. Our tables looked great, we loved the centerpieces, and everyone was raving about how pretty everything was. FOOD: We had hors d'oeuvres at the cocktail hour - crab cakes, Greek cheese pies, and egg rolls - and they were all amazing. We had a plated dinner - beef with mushroom sauce, chicken with sun-dried tomato sauced, mashed potatoes, and veggies - and it was literally the best meal I have ever had at a wedding. The cake was red velvet with a cream cheese frosting and was incredible. Everything was top notch. ENTERTAINMENT: RJ from Knight Sound DJ was everything we could ask for. Before the wedding he asked us if we had any other preferences other than what we sent before the wedding, and he made sure the wedding was a fun party. He got people out on the dance floor and kept them out there with fun music. PHOTOGRAPHY: Ella was a great photographer, enthusiastic, and commanded everyone effectively to make sure we finished all of our photos before sunset. The videographer was really nice and we are looking forward to seeing the video of the ceremony. Our wedding was 4/5/19 at Bears Best. I knew the minute I walked into the venue that it was where I would get married. Then I met Tina and loved her instantly she is so genuine and calm which is what every bride needs. She is so honest there was no upsell and they catered to everything we wanted. She let us change up the menu, the location of the ceremony, whatever we wanted they would accommodate. The cost was exactly what they quoted with no surprises. It was so easy they recommend the best vendors for you - which is actually great! Our favorite vendors were Myron our Photographer and Paper and Home, our cake also turned out beautiful from Peridot Sweets. Ed was also AMAZING! He is just the sweetest and hardworking the day of. He made sure everything ran smooth and was so kind and respectful. He alone made me feel like I was the center of the attention and beautiful. He does an amazing and goes above and beyond. Tina, Ed and their whole staff is so wonderful I cant recommend them enough. Bears Best is lucky to have them. OK; let me begin by saying this not a golf review, so you golfers can stop reading -- just joking. I want to share my observations about their wedding services and catering. I was invited to my niece's wedding held here. I was pleasantly surprised by everything. I was told by my brother (the bride's father) that this wedding event was a package deal that was purchased from Bear's Best, but since he was lucky enough not to have to pay for it, he did not know how much it costs. I don't know too -- but I would guess that while the prices might not be too outrageous, it can't be cheap too, since everything was pretty outstanding. The wedding ceremony was held on the grass with folding chair seating for the guests. Nothing special, but nice. And they provided the music and the Chaplin and everything. Then we had a one hour cocktail hour with open bar (beer, wine, liquor, cocktails) and a little bit of appetizers --- fruits, crudites, nuts, chips, cheese and crackers. Just perfect with cocktails and not too heavy with the dinner coming. Then dinner was served buffet style -- mixed field greens and berries with a vinaigrette dressing, roasted red potatoes, sauteed mixed veggies, Chibbata rolls, Chicken Piccata, and prime rib roast beef.....I had two slices of rare prime rib and it was good. The food was surprising good for catered event with a big crowd. The rolls were hot and good; the veggies warm and not overdone; the beef was cooked perfectly, etc. etc. And most importantly, it all tasted good and not blah or mundane. Dessert was wedding cake and gourmet cup cakes. And they had a "favors" table with chocolate dipped strawberries, gourmet chocolate pops, and red velvet cake pops dipped in a sugar glaze that hardened with the red velvet pop inside. And I think Bear's Best provided everything, even the music for dancing and the DJ. I think they also provided the photographer. Service was great and the coordinator stays with the party from the very beginning until the last guest goes home. So all-in-all, I think this place is pretty darn good. read more

I recently attended a wedding here and it was gorgeous. The ceremony was held near the entrance of the venue and it was on a hill overlooking a beautiful scene. The reception was held in a ballroom of some sort, which in my opinion, wasn't the most amazing thing, but they more than made up for it with their staff. They were all dressed appropriately and had amazing service. Overall I would recommend this place to host your wedding. read more

This place is packed and the rounds take over 5 1/2 hours. They do a good job of marketing, too good. So that all the hackers and everyone under the sun show up. I have no problems with hacking since we've all been there. I do have a problem with no marshal regulating play, the starter not effectively staggering tee offs and people so drunk they can't even stand on their own two feet. We met Gordon at the Bridal Spectacular show and were impressed by him. After going to the open house, we knew this was the place. The views are beautiful and made for wonderful wedding pictures. Their wedding package is truly all inclusive and they do an amazing job. We also met with Christine Sanchez and Ed Ramos during the planning. They both did a great job meeting with us, letting us taste the food we were going to choose on our menu. We were blown away by the service. The whole team from planners, servers, bartenders, and chefs did an incredible job! The guests are still talking about how delicious the food was! We came to Vegas to celebrate a friend's birthday and decided to make it a golf trip. This course is really beautiful and each hole is unique - but LOTS of sand. All of the staff members were especially nice except for the guys in the pro shop. They made it seem like we were not welcomed there. They definitely don't help the reputation of the golf course. The prices were just ok - we paid $129 for a twilight tee time. We had a good time after we got out of the pro shop. Would I play here again when I visit Vegas ? Eh, maybe. read more

Our regular group played here yesterday. Probably about the 10th time playing the course, and as always it was in good condition. We'd play here more often.... but they only let casino employees book tee times 24hrs in advance.... so that means it's tough for us to get an early tee time. We payed $50, which is totally worth it for this course. They do a good job with the tee times here, and don't overbook the course. I can't ever remember having a really slow round here. The course layout is great.... I'd say it's a bit challenging... but not overly so by any means. The greens in particular were in great shape yesterday. read more

Fantastic course situated in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas. My buddy and I decided to head out for a mid afternoon round. Excellent experience. Keeping in mind we played in the dead of summer, we were treated like kings and felt as though we were the only ones on the course (which wasn't far from the truth). The greens had been recently punched, however, the quality of the course otherwise was wonderful. Perhaps the best part of the outing was the staff; friendly, knowledgeable and my goodness does their bartender know how to make a Bloody Mary! This is my favorite course in Vegas, a real treat for golfers of all handicaps. A major plus for the higher handicappers is the lack of houses that can be hit by errant driver shots. Wow where to start. Bears Best was truly the best wedding venue ever and the wedding was so much better than I could have ever imagined thanks to them. Ed, Tracy and Tina all made the day so very special and are all amazing people. The process was easy, they help you set up with the vendors and answer any questions quickly and efficiently. When looking for venues we realized they had the best deal and were all inclusive. I was immediately impressed. Their grounds are gorgeous and they provide a lot within their package. You get many options to choose from for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They made our day truly the best day ever and I am so thankful to them. I will always recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing wedding venue. They will take care of you and help you along in the process of planning. I did not like the black sand or transition. The traps were inconsistent. It was very difficult dread the greens . Three putted 4 times. . Fairways were tight. Pin placement were tough. . Finally got a chance to play Bears best Las Vegas last month. What a treat. I can't believe it took me so long to finally play this amazing course. Went down on a 2 day golf trip. This was the first course we played, Wolf Creek in Mesquite was the second day. Bears Best was everything I expected based on the various reviews. Challenging but also forgiving fairways for mid-handicap golfers. It is always hard to score well the first time you play a new course but I did pretty decent. The highlight was an eagle on hole 11 which is a 350 yard par 4. Our tee time was 1:30 so it started getting dark on the 18th hole but we were able to complete it. I love how close this course is to the strip, only 15 min away. I definitely recommend this golf course if you are heading to Las Vegas. read more

The rough was rough...but that's golf! A couple times had to be right up on the ball to see it nestled in the rough. First off, I saw a few remarks about course play time...I don't see how it can play too slow with 10 minute tee time windows...our Sunday, afternoon tee time, took 4:20...we were a bit behind the group ahead but all 4 were first timers here. The staff was friendly but the range was not as extensive as I'd have expected or, at least, not set up as so as we had some folks waiting to warm up. Very nice compilation of southwest US golf holes, along with some others from the more arid locations. They assimilated very well into a difficult first time round...very playable just the same. I'll go back, perhaps in June when I venture to Vegas again. Keep it out of the rough....period! read more

This course is gorgeous. The whole experience was very good for me - from the treatment in the pro-shop, the bar, and most importantly the play of the course itself. I was visiting Vegas and not used to how nice the desert looks, etc ... I spent a lot of time on this course taking in how beautiful everything was. I lost a ton of balls too since I tend to hit the ball into more exotic locations off the fairway. The staff advise you to not go get your ball when that happens due to scorpions and other nasty stuff that could get you in the sand. Ever watch Dune? I stayed on the grass. I was using rental clubs there (nice set of Titleists) so I didn't mind the concrete bunkers they had in some places. I am sure these were supposed to be like sand, but they were more like gravel road/concrete. No problem though - not my clubs :) I would love to get back out to Bear's Best next time I am in Vegas.
