I've always heard great things about Moxies and I finally got to try it! We shared the crab cake and chipotle mango chicken. Loved the crab cake as it was fresh and lemon delighted and the Chipotle Mango Chicken definitely tasted like Chipotle, but it was balanced out well with the quinoa, vegetables, and sauce. For cocktails, I had the Carajillo which tasted like what a Carajillo should taste like. I usually don't like bourbon, but the Blackberry Bramble was good even when it was bourbon-forward. Food, service, and ambiance were all solid even during the last World Cup Game. The experiences that were shared to prior to coming definitely lived up to its standards. Stopped by Moxies in Uptown Dallas and it absolutely delivered. The steak bites were incredible perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. You can tell they really focus on quality ingredients. I also tried the Spicy Tuna Dynamite Roll, which was fresh, balanced, and had just the right amount of heat. It's not always easy to find a place that nails both steak and sushi, but they did it here. Great atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food. A nice experience! I was invited to Moxie's to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is beautiful, several places for cute photo ops. The food very tasty. Everyone loved their food. I tried a bit of everything and I had to agree. The cocktails were delicious had an adequate amount of alcohol. The only downside of the experience was the pace of the service. Easily made a reservation for early evening on a Saturday. Took my nephew out for his 25th birthday- wow - where did the time go?need to make a concerted effort to spend more time with family, and what better way than with great food and drinks in a gorgeous atmosphere. My nephew dropped me at the door while he went to park. I was seated immediately. Happy hour food a drink specials until 6 PM, so our 5:30 reservation got us pork potstickers, really good guacamole and seasoned chips, as well as espresso martinis at discounted prices. I ordered the chicken mango - so I was floored that the dish came out looking exactly like the photo- this usually does not happen, and I was impressed. It was stacked so until I got under the first piece of chicken, that I saw there were actually two! And they were I top of a nice serving of cubed sweet potatoes and broccolini , all on top of a bed of couscous. It was all delicious. My nephew ordered the shrimp tacos and he was happily surprised that the fish came with three well filled tacos. Service was great. The interior is stylish and upscale yet minimalist, anchored by a bar ringed with wide-screen TVs blasting whichever game is on. During my visit, that meant four different NFL matchups at once. I kept things simple with a cheeseburger and a Peroni on draft (a nice touch to see an Italian favorite on the list). The burger was tall, well-presented, and tasty--solidly made, beautifully presented, though not "best of" caliber, it needs charcoal flavor, or some special spice. The patty was just "normal". The Scottish Salmon was so tasty! The salmon was cooked on medium and tasted amazing. The rest of it had an earthy taste I personally loved and squeezing the lemon over it definitely elevated the flavor. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, not overly chewy and had a nice crunch to it. Chicken Madeira Rigatoni comes with pan roasted chicken with creamy mushroom & madeira wine sauce, rosemary, lemon & garlic ciabatta baguette. It was a good meal too but I would only recommend ordering it if you really like mushrooms. It was creamy and the pasta tasted incredible. The Tuna Sushi Stack was good but nothing I'd care to order again. This location is nestled in the heart of uptown, an upscale area of Dallas. There was self parking in the basement. Upon arrival we were seated immediately without reservations. I got a happy hour White wine, which was ok. I like sweeter wines, so it was my fault for getting this one. I got the Vegetarian power bowl, which was great for a healthy meal. I was able to eat 2/3 of it. The highlight was the ice cream cake- the mile high mocha cake. I thought it was CD m going to be cake with ice cream in the side, but the ice cream was in the shape of a slice of cake. OMG, i loved it so much! The place was full of customers, and it felt so luxurious being in there. It also felt like i was hanging out in my own living room, it felt homey at the same time. Open late, Moxies is a fun bar and restaurant. I was staying at a nearby hotel and wanted a late meal. I was so happy they were still open at 9pm. Since it was Sunday night, they had both a NFL game and a MLB game on the TVs. There weren't a lot of cheering, which I liked. Otherwise I would have went to an actual sports bar. Moxies felt more upscale and less rowdy. Originally, I wanted to try their Blackened Mahi Mahi. Unfortunately, they ran out of mashed potatoes. The Internet photos for this dish looked attractive. So, I had to settle for the 1/2 rack of ribs $29 instead. Still good. The fries were amazing. They were so crispy! My perspective on french fries is now ruined because of this. As for the ribs themselves, they were fine. True to the description from the menu, they were 'fall off the bone tender', although I did use a knife to cut them. My waitress Ava was excellent. She checked on me often. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Next time I'm in Dallas, I'll be sure to come back for a revenge meal. The Mahi Mahi dish is now on my list. read more
