Beaudevin is a lifesaver. I was a shell of a person, drained from travel and life in general, and I came across Beaudevin at the San Diego Airport. I was able to get a nice, big glass of Malbec and a crudité plate with hummus. Honestly, this place provided me with the only vegetables I had eaten in a couple of days. With my vegetables and wine, I felt ready to get on my delayed flight. There is a bar area that you can slide up into, or grab a table in the sunny atrium, which is what I did. It's located in a peaceful area of the airport (United area), with lots of natural light. They have a limited food menu here, but a great wine list. They have little things to nibble on, like charcuterie boards, salads and sandwiches, although when I visited, they were out of sandwiches. Your mileage might vary. However, sitting here reading a sign that HMS Host adds a 2% pre-tax surcharge for staff recruitment and retention. Having worked for 40+ years, I always thought additional expenses for salaries and benefits was an investment in staffing from profits? And, as a customer, no option not to pay this! Service this visit was dreadful. There was nobody at all behind the bar for almost 15 minutes. Then, two bartenders show up. If there are two people, why the heck were they both gone at the same time? There were four other customers at the bar so it was not as if there were no people at the bar. One bartender didn't seem to know much about the wine list. He didn't recognize my order and had to look at the menu. Otherwise, he was courteous. He explained that the Enomatic (or whatever wine preservation system they use) was broken so they were pouring from bottles. It took him some time to find the correct bottle and fish it out from the cooler. I ordered one glass of wine. After it was poured, BOTH bartenders disappeared. One returned after a few minutes but the other was gone for at least another 20. minutes. Maybe he was on lunch break if so it's a strange schedule since they'd been open for only an hour. read more

To be fair, we were headed out on vacation and had just learned that our first flight was going to be late, endangering our connection. I've tried a few airport wine bars and they mostly seem to have the same two things in common: middle of the road wines and high prices. I can forgive the latter because airports are expensive places to have a business. We had a few hours to sit and fret, so we tried three wines between the two of us: Palacios Remondo La Montessa Garnacha blend, Tablas Creek Patelin de Tablas, and Les Cadrans de Lassegue Bordeaux blend. They were all drinkable, but I wouldn't buy a bottle of any of them in the store. Weirdly, the food is pretty good. The hummus plate comes with a huge pile of veggies which I really appreciated since I'm gluten intolerant. My husband sampled the chicken and goat cheese sandwich which he really enjoyed. read more

This place is amazing! Service is great and makes this feel nothing like an airport. My charcuterie was $17 and the amount that I got was amazing! Very relaxing atmosphere and the music makes it feel like I'm at a classy bar restaurant. Would recommend this place if you are stuck at the airport. read more

Whent into this wine bar at the San Diego airport and ask for a glass of zinfandel. They don't have a Zinfandel. The overworked but busy bartender sent the manager over to speak with me. The manager said he doesn't like any of the wines and doesn't know why Zinfandel is not on the menu. And then walked away. What a bunch of clowns. While we only had a typical draft Indian pale ale and bloody Mary, the location of this bar was perfect! It sits right in between gates 39-45.
