Went for happy hour on their Taco Tuesday. They change up their taco weekly. Had a spicy margarita, with plenty of different types of tequila available. Our host was also the bartender, and he made our margaritas well and was really nice. The other cocktail we got was okay, kind of watered down with a lot of ice. The tacos were fresh but $7/each. The street parking up front is 2 hr limit until 6pm, so this place is perfect for a happy hour in Birdrock since it opens at 4:00pm. read more

Yummy af. There was an entire underwater ecosystem in this damn pasta and it did NOT disappoint. It was squid ink pasta noodles with salmon, shrimp, halibut, mussels, and clams. It had tarragon cream and basil oil topped with parmesan with some toasted sourdough bread. It was INSANELY flavorful. This was a fun pasta to really focus on everything you were eating - all of the different textures and tastes really made every bite different. It was also super filling. Strolling around "Bird Rock" area and decided to try this local restaurant. Arrived 15 minutes after it opened and there was already a lot of people dining and with covid regulations at least 6 ft apart/distance. We did make a reservation. I decided to try the wild mushroom omelette as they mentioned it was new on the menu. It was delicious filled with fresh mushrooms, asparagus and manchego cheese! Perfect flavors. My husband tried The Coaster which includes their famous Coast Toast, eggs, bacon or sausage and breakfast potatoes. The "coast toast" is French toast made like a soufflé, spongy and creamy. Impressive. Overall, food was great, servers/ staff were very friendly and I would recommend this place. Might have to park on the side streets as there is limited parking. read more

Came here for the rhubarb margarita. It didnt have alot of rhubarb flavor so a little disappointing. The service however was great so the 3 star review is just based on the lack of rhubarb flavor The other 2 drinks also were just ok. Nothing super spectacular. read more

We've enjoyed coming here for both breakfast and dinner. Most recently the dinner vibes were top notch. We got a table in the back corner which was perfect for a romantic vibe and also gave us space to park our stroller. We got there in time for happy hour and ordered the sliders, Brussels sprouts, and guacamole and chips. All the apps were delicious. Their beers on tap were also top notch! I got some sort of Hefeweizen which I LOVED. Our server was a gentleman who was beyond accommodating and friendly. He took special care of us even though we were high maintenance with a baby (four months). All in all, def a place we will frequent for happy hour because we loved their happy hour prices, drinks, food, ambiance, and the fact they were baby friendly. read more

Came as a group of four, I have been here in the past but it had been so long ago and wanted to give it a shot as it is in Birdrock which is a beautiful area. We arrived at 8 so we could eat before the music starts. No joy in getting a table so we decided to just head to the bar. Since we came by to hear the band at 9PM we thought we could probably order at the bar. Big mistake, facing the bar on the right hand side is the wait staff path. This is blocked off by one of those retractible crowd control posts and ribbon. There is no spot to get a drink or order anything unless you are sitting at the bar. We eventually were able to stop a wait staff individual and get an order in. During our time here we watched as one lady on the wait staff extending the crowd control length which pushed people into the water table area and log-jammed the route to the bathroom. She because visibly and vocally more irritated as the minutes passed as more people entered the area. Now this was her doing by moving the crowd control but even her self created issue meant the customers were getting yelled at and downright disrespected. Fortunately we were off to the side and not involved in her tyrant behavior instead just witnesses. Seems to be staffed properly but service is beyond slow and several employees appeared visibly unhappy and frustrated. Not sure who was in charge but truly seemed to be unorganized. Around 9pm some tables outside had come available and I went to the hostess counter. Since I was inside the restaurant I stood off to the side of the hostess stand. Three employees stood there talking about how irritated they were to be there, I waited, they made eye contact but never stopped talking to each other. Finally we just went and sat at a table rather than wait. Sad to see this as I had high hopes but not sure I would be back. Location is easy to find, lots of street parking and the traffic circles make it much easier to search for a parking spot. read more

This past Sunday we were looking for a local restaurant with good food to give our daughter a nice send-off back to Santa Monica at the end of the Christmas/New Year festivities. Have previously been to Beaumont's many times before, but we moved out of La Jolla for a while and it's been years since we've eaten there. Now that we've moved back to La Jolla, I'm VERY glad we decided to reacquaint ourselves with our old standby. The current dinner menu is pared down a bit from the normal menu (thank you COVID), but we found plenty of options for all four of us to enjoy. We started with kung pao mushrooms to share, plus I had the crispy salmon, my wife had the bahn mi veggie burger, my daughter went for the butternut carbonara, and my son decided on the char burger. Also ordered the classic margarita kit for 2 for my wife and daughter. Everything was excellent -- really good. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised just how well the food was executed. There is a REAL chef in the kitchen -- not just someone Beaumont's found on craigslist. I think we just found our new (old) happy place! read more

First off the service was spectacular!! So friendly and helpful. I had the avo toast and it was THE best I have had. Perfectly cooked egg on top with radishes and delicious flavors. The pancakes were so delicious also - soft, buttery, and great overall taste. The eggs beni was also cooked to perfection with super tasters. I went here for Easter brunch with my friends and it was phenomenal!!! Such great service and amazing food! We got the French toast bites (an Easter special) and it was seriously the best breakfast/dessert dish I have ever had. I will be back for this 100%. The burgers here are absolutely fire. The beer is fine. I'm not really crazy about the other food they serve, but the burgers absolutely stand out. Get it medium and it's addictive and juicy. This is a favorite in the neighborhood and one of the few restaurants that have stood the test of time in the Bird Rock area. read more

They had a great vibe permeating from the start with a friendly hostess and great service. I saw our server handle a very large growing section outside with ease and grace. The carnitas benedict was pretty good, but the brisket benedict was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. Props to whoever was cooking benedicts there around 10am today. You know you're in for a surprise when you overhear your server say "Yeah, there's new kitchen staff so we're still working out some things." She was right. The Viking Burger sounded appetizing - ordered it Medium. I always do. But I quickly regretted that decision. As soon as the plate this the table, the turnt-to-a-crisp bacon crumbed and fell off. I took a small bite of the bacon and could have cracked a tooth (pic attached). Removed all the bacon. Started eating and the entire burger fell apart after two bites. When I got the center-ish of the burger, I discovered a great surprise - the burger was raw. Not rare...stringy raw (pic attached). I immediately lost my appetite and informed the server. She agreed about the bacon and raw beef and took the plate. While I appreciate that they (obviously) took the burger off the bill, there seemed to be zero urgency to make the situation right. No offer for a replacement dish. No offer to take care of our cocktails. Just the removal of the terrible dish. My years of experience in the service industry always taught me to never leave a situation where the patron is unhappy. My dining partner had the salmon. He enjoyed. This place has been on my list of places to visit for a while now - especially for dinner because of the live music. Still haven't made it for dinner but my girls and I got to spend a lovely Saturday afternoon enjoying brunch. From the moment I moved to San Diego i've heard nothing but great things about their french toast (Coaster Toast as they call it). I'm not huge on French toast, more of a savory girl myself BUT I refused to visit without trying it out. Well let's just say had we not had so much other food I would have easily grabbed an second order- it's to die for! The mojito needed some more mint and the marg just tasted like it was bottled juice and low shelf tequila. For food we ordered the carnitas lettuce wraps, the sliders, the guacamame and the ceviche. The ceviche was a good flavor but barely had any fish. The sliders were super good and we actually ordered some more. The lettuce wraps were ok but the meat was a bit overcooked. Usually, this is no biggie and we are very patient (i have worked in the food industry) but there was no bread, chips, etc. while waiting. The table next to us had come way after & got food + drinks before us. I'm not sure if they forgot our table for a little while or if it was just the order of things but it was pretty disappointing for the price we paid and having no bread to snack on while waiting. The food was OK but expensive for portion size as most places in this area. $46 for a steak with no sides. The waiter we had was personable and sweet which saves this review from being lower, but overall I don't think we would return or recommend this place to people. I know i'm on a tangent about this bread (lol) but I would've been fine waiting that long + the price if we had something small to eat during that period. I've had Beaumont's booked for some time. I passed by it a year ago during COVID and told myself that I'd come back to try them out once things eased up a bit. This place looks nice when it's lit up at night. My co-worker and I got brunch a few weekends ago so I suggested this place. They have outdoor dining available. My coworker brought her two dogs with us and we were able to enjoy our meal outside. We both got the Carne Asada Benedicts $13.95, which has avocado cilantro, hollandaise sauce and mixed greens. I had a great experience last night at Beaumont's. I was across the street tasting wine and stumbled into this place for dinner. I ordered the Cauliflower and Quinoa fried rice with Salmon from the bar tender with the long hair. He took my order while shaking a drink which was fine but when I got my order it was the Crispy Salmon dish. At that point I had already moved to a table because I wanted more space to eat. When I got the food I was so hungry and just ready to eat. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing this dish was. It was crispy and tasty. No shortage of good flavors. The server that helped me at the new table was so friendly and attentive. We chatted about food and the best places to live in San Diego. I didn't catch his name but he makes me want to come back. We came to Beaumont's on a Saturday for dinner and to hear a local band that was playing that night. My husband and I love live music and we appreciate it when restaurants/bars have bands. The hostess put us at a prime table to see and hear the band and drinks were brought to us fairly quickly. They have a decent drink menu. Prices are fair. 2 of us ordered the burger and we both thought it was delicious! My husband ordered a steak and he really enjoyed it. His only complaint was that it didn't come with any kind of potatoes. So he had to order some French fries separately. By the time he asked for them it was getting pretty busy so they took quite some time to get them to him. The service was good except for the fact that we paid our dinner bill but stayed for the band and the waitress never came back to check on us to see if we wanted anything else. We finally had to flag down a waiter to get more drinks. The band was AWESOME and the crowd was on the floor dancing. It was a lot of fun!! Went to Beaumonts on Sunday afternoon for lunch with my husband. I wanted to give them 2 stars but our server was extremely nice and conversant. The lunch started out with a glass of warm water- no ice. The food was average. My husband had the fish tacos. I assume cod, and it was heavily fried, served with refried beans; however, he enjoyed it. My Seoul Veggie Burger looked completely dried out, was on a huge bun - a mess to eat . It came with a quarter size amount of cut up kimchi that did not stay on the pattie. The taste wasn't bad if you put enough ketchup on it and tried to remove some of the bread. It was extremely unenjoyable to eat and ended up all over my plate. An absolute mess with a lot of left over bread. My husband's Marguerita was the worse we've ever tasted- completely watered down. We wondered if they had forgotten the tequila. The Jamaican drink I had , was very sweet - not bad. The restaurant looked rather dirty, beat down with trash on the floor, the table tops have seen better days. I truly wonder about the cleanliness of the food preparation. The prices were on the high side for what you get! I live in the area and will leave this restaurant to the tourist!!! read more
