The California burrito was AMAZING! The guy who takes the food orders, not so much. No personality. Kinda rude. Getting to work ON Pacific beach you'd think he'd be nicer. The beer was super cold and location on boardwalk was great!

    We enjoyed our taco Tuesday.

It was good. Very informal. Order things at the desk and then they call your name to come pick it up. The food was good. We had tacos. The drinks are a separate entity on the other side of the room. But no big deal. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Burrito with ranchero sauce on the side and omelette both with fresh fruit. Very good portions.

Very chill restaurant where you order at the counter, order your food and pick your seat. Liked how most entrees came with a side. Got one of the burritos with ranchero sauce on the side and fresh fruit and also got the scramble with fruit too. The ranchero sauce and salsa were good and the portions of both entrees were very good as well. The burrito fillings couldve been seasoned better, but it was packed with eggs, carne asada, and a little bit of beans. Loved the variety of fruit, appreciated it wasnt just melon and it was all sweet. Wasnt too packed for a friday morning so that was nice. They do add a 4% charge to every check which is written on the menu.

Nice spot right in the beach! Drinks were tasty and the food was great. Definitely a place to bring your friends for lunch and drinks to get your day started.

Beachfront bar & grill with a great ocean view. My first time here and our Breakfast was delicious, the cook was spot-on and the bartender hooked it up with the champagne in my mimosa. My husband's Michelob Ultra hit the spot. First time here and we'd definitely come back to chill and have some more drinks. Lunch menu also looks solid

A great oceanside spot to brunch or lunch. Large portion of eggs bacon toast and potatoes woth a side of flap jacks was just perfect for 2. Food to the left and bar to the right with inside seating but the real spot is on the ocean front deck. Smiling, friendly service from the cooks. Kind of old school as they call out your name on the megaphone when the food is ready. Barstools on the edge and high top tables with plenty of seating. Nice local spot to enjoy

Any business with a million dollar view and Dan and Mareyja as cooks is going to succeed. We had a great time seriously, thanks to all the staff. Beach front view, good beer and great food...5 stars Lahaina

Love coming here everytime I'm in town visiting. Popular bar that's gets busy quickly! Limited seating inside and outside on patio so I recommend coming early. Enjoyed a mango cart beer and shrimp burrito. Perfect view and location on the beach!

Staff was friendly and quick. The ghost pepper spicy margarita was delicious. They had several different cocktails and beer selections. We did not try the food but it looked so good. Decent size menu. View was great. Right off the beach. Plenty of seating.

I haven't lived in SoCal for a while butwhenever I come down to visit, like 3x a year, we head on over to Lahaina - typically a line but it moves well - security to get in is reasonable - I don't need to be carded (58) but was once - thank you very much - I'm the older side of the crown with my husband but theres no shade from the younger people- they are always starting a conversation with you or giving you a seat when they leave - you feel like you're at a backyard party - the drinks are stiff and fairly priced (Im in NorCal) and also the food isn't bad - the fish tacos were pretty good, and also the rolled tacos. We meet up with my youngest sister (29) and she brings her hot young friends and they just act like we are part of their friend group - sister likes the pina colada with a rum floater - can't argue - it was good - but I stick to Tito's to avoid the hangover- hope to see you ASAP, Lahaina - love watching the sunset from the outside deck - LOVE!

Great trap for when your thirsty and they have food, food inst expensive and they have drink specials

This place is epic; the atmosphere and ocean views are awesome. If you're lucky enough to grab a spot at the edge of their balcony, closest to the beach, congrats, you won. You can now sip on that cold beverage and watch the world go by with a stunning Pacific Ocean backdrop. The hours will melt away while you're basking in near perfect weather with a stream of people cruising past on the boardwalk.

As I understand it, Moray's is the outside/patio dining portion, while Oceana is the indoor fine-dining situation. I believe they pretty much have very similar menus, with Oceana having some additional high-end offerings. Came out to Moray's to visit my cousin who was in town for work. Since my cousin now has her most adorable infant, she wanted to keep it simple and dine at the hotel restaurant, which was fine by me. While I waited for them to come down from their room, I got us a patio table and ordered a delicious $10 draft. Mixed drinks were all hovering around $19 each. The server was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which I greatly appreciated. I went with the reasonably priced Steak Frites, $36, which was to stated to come with Muenster cheese and caramelized onions on top, and served with a side chimichurri. While the steak was wonderfully cooked to a solid med. rare as requested, it seemingly had very little flavor. Perhaps had it not been covered with a wealth of some DEEPLY caramelized onions and an abundance of Muenster cheese, I might have been able to taste the seasonings and/or the beef. While I love some deeply caramelized onions on a salt-laden burger, the extent to which these were caramelized left them seeming soggy and too sweet for the steak pairing. Add in the several slices of melted Muenster cheese on top, and flavourwise I could hardly tell I was eating a steak. Ultimately, the abundance of toppings overwhelmed the steak. The accompanying chimichurri was also a little strange. While I appreciate that it was diced and not blended, it was very heavy on the oil, while very light on the herbs. The frites were nicely salted and good on their own, however a decent amount became soggy from being under the steak. The burger on the other hand looked excellent. My cousin devoured his in what seemed like a split second. I could have went for the burger, however at $27 I perceived the $36 steak frites to be of a better value. Again, shout out to our server. They were on-point! Thanks Moray's!

It was very unsettling watching the homeless come in the patio to fill various vessels which looked disgusting and dirty with ice, help themselves to the various soft drink options and the additional dipping sauces. I had three different people approach me for money. I offered to buy each of them something to eat but they didn't want that. They just wanted some cash. One got pretty aggressive with me, started yelling and started swinging his arms. I really don't have an issue with people helping themselves to ice, soft drinks, water or the dipping sauces if The Crack Shack doesn't care. What bothered me was the dirty cup, blender container, coffee can and empty aluminum cans they were shoving under the machine, on the buttons, etc. It was very unsanitary. They did seem to have an employee assigned to the patio but he would disappear for quite some time and that's when the people off the street took advantage of the drink station, ice and dipping sauces. Next time I will get my food to go and ask the employees to get me sauces from their supply in the kitchen. I really enjoyed the Chicken Oysters - they were piping hot, the breading was light and very nicely season and they were juicy and packed full of flavor.

Parking is free for up to 30 minutes in the shared lot. After that duration, you need to pay at one of the available kiosks. Since these were the early days of The Playground, there were operational kinks that need to be smoothed out. First were the unusual business hours (e.g. 9 am to 9 pm on Thursday and Friday, only 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday, etc). My initial attempt to visit occurred after work on a weekday. Despite the supposed closing time of 11 pm, the doors were locked at 5:30 pm. Second was the lack of prices on the menus. That is a cardinal sin in my book because if you are open to the public, then you owe it to the customers to disclose the costs. The first item for my to-go order was a snack size serving (six pieces) of Chicken Wings. I picked Bonnie's Barbeque for a sauce that featured a sweet and smokey flavor. The wings were coated with the sauce and not deep fried which made them a bit healthier. The second item was a Birria Quesadilla that came with consome on the side. A flour tortilla was filled with cheese, marinated shredded beef, cilantro, and onion. It was then sliced into smaller triangular pieces and then separated by aluminum foil in a takeout box. The consome had moderate richness while the cheesy, beefy tortilla was filling. I didn't understand the meaning of the new moniker as the interior setup had not been modified. It certainly did not have the ambiance of a playground. My first impression of this place was a three star rating with multiple areas of needed improvement including signage on the marquee. I ordered the Birria Crunch Wrap, and halfway through eating, I discovered a long strand of hair buried in the food. Not just on top in the food. It was clearly cooked into the dish, which tells me that basic hygiene in the kitchen is completely lacking. When I pointed it out to the server, she barely apologized and offered to remake it, as if that would magically erase the thought of chewing through someone else's hair. No manager came to speak to us, no discount, no sense of urgency or genuine concern. The rest of the food wasn't memorable either--bland, lukewarm, and overpriced for the quality. But honestly, after the hair incident, I couldn't bring myself to take another bite. If you value cleanliness and basic health standards, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that know how to wear a hairnet.
