Nadine! Like every natural straight hair woman, I've always longed for voluminous, curly, fierce hair for years on end! It wasn't until this year I've decided to seriously look into stylists who specialize in the perm/air perm technique and to my surprise, there isn't many in the Bay Area! At first i came across Permanently Yours and met with Vicky for a consultation. However, she was booked up until April so she referred me to Nadine! Nadine was so friendly and charismatic when i first met her and i really felt i got to experience the salon energy! If that makes any sense lol. Nadine worked with Vicky for many years so i trusted in her especially for my first perm EVER. I got an air perm, which was so fun because i got to wear the funky curlers in my hair, the hard part was sleeping/laying down comfortably, but it was tolerable. Overall, i have to say that i loved my experience and i LOVE my hair even more! My curls are full and full of volume and i can't wait to go back and get a touch up! Liz never disappoints! We had a function last Friday and she did a bang-up job with my hair and makeup and my girls' updo. This is my first time (and will not be the last) for these services (we get our regular hair maintenance with her) and Liz took her time to ask my dress, color, etc. to make sure that she is using the appropriate make up hues. I've never had any LUCK on finding a great color stylist until I met Liz. I have fine, thin hair and needed a color lift so badly. With my stubborn gray hair, I was looking for a good base color that would stay for weeks (not just after several washes) as well as peek-a-boo lowlights that would blend with the base color. When I showed Liz a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, she was able to replicate it effortlessly--the base color, the shade and the streaks. She is multi-talented and is very good at her craft. Liz also does updos, make-up and eyebrows and will definitely see her for these services next time. The salon is small, hip and very clean; and prices are reasonable. I felt very comfortable and pampered the whole time I was there. I highly recommend her the next time you are looking for a hairstyle change. She doesn't disappoint! read more

I didn't get a major haircut or anything, but I wanted to write a review anyway, so you can know why Lizette is great. First, you can text to make an appointment. This is super handy because if you don't have a dedicated receptionist, customers will give up after one or two calls. (HINT: if you text to make an appointment, put what you want done and the hours and days when you're available in the first text! This really helps to get you an appointment as quickly as possible, and Lizette really appreciated that I did.) Okay, second, I went in with no clear idea of what I wanted, and she worked with that and I was really happy with the results. Third, it was only $25! The same cut at my old stylist would have been at least $10 more. And a tiny #4, every time I have ever had my hair washed for a haircut, the person washing it has always adjusted the water to be either too hot, or almost too hot. Lizette put real effort into adjusting it to a temperature that was just slightly warmer than my scalp, so it was super pleasant and not cold or hot. And I didn't ask her to or anything. It's a silly little thing, but my scalp is pretty sensitive, and I really appreciated that. Oh, and my cut started exactly on time! So yeah, I highly recommend Lizette! read more

First time here and had the best experience ever! Liz is amazing and did a wonderful job on my hair. I have to admit, my hair is thick, the ends are split, and I totally need a new conditioner but after leaving this place... my hair is brought to LIFE! I live in Fremont and I've been to quite a fee places in the area but no place is as good as this and I'd gladly drive 10 minutes away for PERFECTION ! I loved Lisette! It was the first time I colored my hair and I was nervous because I didn't want it to end up a hot mess. She was very nice and reassuring. She even asked if I had a picture of what I wanted. In the end my hair turned out exactly like the picture I had shown her! It was perfect. The Beauty Bar is the best place I've been to! Lizette does an amazing job. My haircuts are pretty simple and I don't do dye jobs so my visits aren't too complicated but she does everything I ask when it comes to how I want it cut. I just got an undercut which came out even better than I expected! And when it comes to eyebrows she kills it. I have never had anyone do my eyebrows as well as she does. I have redhair so my eyebrows are super light and she dyes and shapes them perfectly. The shop is so cute and has comfortable chill vibes. Definitely will not be going anywhere else, I come all the way from Tracy to see her so that should tell you how good Lizette is! read more
