A friend of mine recommended Kiana. I was a little nervous about trying someone new that I didn't know but I've been wanting to find a hairstylist that was closer to me. The inside of the salon is very clean, bright and nicely decorated. Kiana came over and greeted me and had me sit in the chair. She let me tell her my vision and was able to quickly mix up everything and get it done. I decided I wanted to go dark and Kiana executed my vision perfectly. I got a dry curly cut from Jennifer. The experience was decent with the scalp/shoulder massage as well as the shampoo and condition, but my hair is completely shot. We talked about adding layers and shaping my hair but by the time she was done, I realized it was a mistake to pay $175 to look like a curly haired Dora the Explorer/George Washington. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I hated it and figured I needed a couple days to get used to it or style it different- no, it's just as hopeless as when I came in if not more because it is significantly shorter and has absolutely no layers. I am absolutely broken hearted and have no clue what to do now or how to fix it. 2 stars for the massage and sweet woman. -3 for the Dora look. Parking is small, but you'll always find parking for your appointments. Inside though, the salon is so cute and warm. They offer beverages, they listen to you and what you'd like, as well as offer their suggestions and what they think will work well. I trust Erin, so I do trust the rest of her team because I know she puts special care in who she employees. My latest cut was with Cassandra, and I am in love with it. Erin's been doing my brows lately and I don't think I can go to anyone else for my brows now. She understands my long crazy brows and how to tame them. :) If you care about the products they use, the studio uses Aveda. I love how my hair feels after a cut and style. I went to Beshta for layers and she seriously KILLED it. My hair has never looked this good, super flowy, bouncy, and just the perfect amount of volume. Tl;dr- Very disorganized with scheduling and false accusations of lice that led to refusal of service. [To their credit, this appointment was booked only about 15 hours prior to the time slot.] My niece's appointment was for 10:30 and I called immediately at their opening at 10:00 to confirm if I would need anything signed or approved by her legal guardian before we came to the salon. They said no, but asked that we come in 15 minutes late. I said okay. We checked in at 10:45 and they asked if we could instead come at 11:30. We drove 20 minutes to arrive so had to just waste time in the area for 45 minutes since it wasn't possible to go home and wait. We returned at 11:30 and they took my niece, 14 years, to the seat. The woman confirmed with me that the length requested was okay and I approved. She then did a pre-cut prior to the wash and began to brush the hair. At this point I could see her pulling at strands of hair so I thought there may be some tangles. Then she went to get someone from the back room who was also pulling at strands. They called me over and said my niece had lice and they cannot continue the appointment. I asked them to show me and they showed some white spots in her hair. I asked if it was dandruff and they showed the difference in texture between dandruff and the spots. I told them that it was probably oil buildup since her grandmother often applies oil. My biggest doubt was because they said they didn't find any of the actual bugs which made no sense. Regardless, I accepted their accusations and asked that they at least even out the hair before we leave. They recommended a lice clinic to visit that charges $200 for a one hour appointment. We immediately went since they had an opening and, what do you know, my niece did not have lice. It was oil buildup exactly like I had told them. This salon is wildly unprofessional and my niece spent the afternoon in tears because of them. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review, I strictly only leave positive reviews, but I could not leave this experience without letting others know. Absolutely disgusting experience. read more

Finally an Aveda salon near me that I absolutely LOVE! I've been a fan of Aveda products for a long time. I've tried other salons that don't use Aveda products and they're just not the same. I was excited to come across Haven when I saw a sign on Fremont Blvd. My first appointment was back in December and I just had a second appointment this past Saturday. In December I had a color and cut and this last appointment was just a cut. First off, Erin is the best! She has been doing hair for awhile and it shows!
