I was in need of a urgent haircut because my hair is falling out. I never had a haircut by Veronica before. I told her about my health issues regarding my hair and scalp. I asked for a couple of inches cut off. I have poker straight fine long hair. She never asked me how I wear my hair normally. I mentioned that I had subtle long layers last time and she might noticed them and can layer it like before. I never asked for layers. Towards the end of haircut, she lifted the top part of my hair and proceeded to cut about 7 inches off, I was in shock. She cut off about 2 inches from bottom and about 6 inches from the top.It happened so fast. My hair was past my chest, now the layers are up to my chin. I have never had layers or short hair in my life. When I got home it was awful and choppy. It looks like I have short hair over long hair. It makes my hair thinner and doesn't blend because I have no body or waves. She disregarded my story about my thinning hair. Im beyond upset and can not believe she didnt listen to me or take in to consideration of my thinning hair. I will never ever go back to her. Very unprofessional. read more

I wish I could give CASSIE ZERO STARS. She is extremely IRRESPONSIBLE and unprofessional. My daughter loves going to the salon and had been looking forward to getting her hair cut since her last trip to this salon in March. But this trip left us anxious, angry, and disappointed. --Cassie TOOK OFF MY DAUGHTER'S MASK because it was too inconvenient for her to fix it over her ear during the cut. --And she rushed through the cut so much so my daughter's hair was obviously uneven, with some pieces over an inch longer than the horribly slanted blunt cut she gave. *I would give VERONICA FIVE STARS.* Veronica was WONDERFUL. Listened when I called about the result of my daughter's haircut, and brought us in to immediately re-cut my daughter's hair. Veronica was KIND, PROFESSIONAL, and TALENTED. This place doesn't even deserve a star! I went here last year after it was recommended to me by someone who lives in the area. I really wanted to get my hair dyed for New Year's and I was able to make the appt. for New Year's Eve in the morning. That should've been a red flag! I got there at the time of my appt. and they were late opening because of snow. The stylist who was assigned to me was old enough to be my mother. Again, another red flag! I believe that her name was Georgia? I came in wanting my hair to be a chestnut brown/auburn color. The stylist suggested that I get what she called l"ow-lights" so I wouldn't have to come back every couple of weeks to get my roots touched up. I took her "professional" advice. I came out with strange colored highlights instead. They were all different shades of yellow (yes, yellow!) and she left the bleach in too long so some of them were almost white!!! Not to mention that the bleach damaged my hair so bad that I had to condition it every few days to try to get it back in the shape that it was. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. I received a phone call about a month later for a follow-up. I ignored the call. BE WARY if you go to this place! read more

I must share my past experiences at this salon so that others do not make the same mistake, and hopefully the salon owner will reconsider their business plan. I've gone here several times, mainly because I have a " benefit of the doubt " attitude, but at some point I had to draw the line. Rather than explain the details of each visit separately, it's easier if I simplify my top concerns: The cleanliness and sterilization process is NON EXISTENT! It's been done to me and I Witness it happening with other customers... The Operators have dropped their Combs or clips onto the ground that is full of cut hair from previous customers--yet to be swept--picked them right back up and continue to use them on us. I felt funny speaking up but after researching Salon regulations I discovered this is actually breaking the law. My stylist, who I won't name, always reeks of cigarette smoke. I understand that smoking is a personal choice and I can Overlook that. But I certainly do not enjoy somebody who is in my personal space and cutting my hair to smell like a Dirty Ashtray. When I'm at the sinks and having my hair washed, it smells like a smoker's Lounge. The smell is not coming off of a person, but I guarantee that people must be smoking somewhere in one of the back rooms. Complete turn off. Each time I had a haircut, the cut was worse and worse and I would notice her being distracted while cutting my hair and either make mistakes and try to cover it up, or be so distracted that she never really finished what she was doing. When she highlighted my hair, whatever it was that she did cause my hair to majorly break off. I was quite concerned and Disturbed but she tried to downplay it instead of apologizing and recognizing the fault. Her comment to me was "it's a chemical haircut" and laughed it off. My eyes teared up and I had to hold back from having a complete nervous breakdown. The towels that were used around my shoulders and for my hair smelled like dog urine. I'm not exaggerating. I know what dog urine smells like. And that smell was on those towels and I smelled it for the entire 35 minutes that I was there, I tried to come up with other reasons it could smell like that, but there was no denying it, it was dog urine. That's where I drew the line left and will never ever go back. read more

I love this place...I've been to this salon many times since I moved to the Union area and I must say that it's probably the first hair salon where they cut my hair the way I want not the way the stylist thinks is good for me. Friendly and hardworking staff, the prices are pretty reasonable for the services like highlights, haircut and blow dry. read more

I've been coming here for over 10 years and always get great color & great cuts. I live an hr away & still come to this salon because I won't trust any other place. I've tried many different haircuts & even more colors over the years & I've always walked away happy. The place has always been super clean and the staff is always very polite and considerate. I don't know how other some other reviews can be so far off the mark. I usually go to Elsa but when she's not there I've gone to other stylists and am always happy. It's awesome to be able to get a great affordable cut & color & not be charged a ridiculous amount like other salons. read more

Went there on Saturday, 3/25 for a wash and blow-dry and came out looking the same had I'd done it myself at home, but costing me $25. The woman named Elsa that took care of me had no idea how to start. I have straight thin hair with layers, I asked her to give me some volume and style and she was clueless. I practically had to guide her and tell her exactly what to do! All she did was sing and look as is NO ONE was sitting in her chair. CLUELESS!!! I don't recommend this place at all. I went for an ombre and a trim and Bianca didn't know what she was doing. She gave me a straight line on the back of my head and just colored my ends. It wasn't even the color I wanted. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did whatever with my hair. Not only didn't she know how to an ombre, she got the wrong color and my hair was cut wrong by Monica. I used to go there all the time simply because I lived 5 minutes away walking distance. The cuts are decent. Tried to dye my hair this time. I grew it out from a very short haircut. So my hair was nice and smooth and silky. We agreed to do two tones up, and the stylist even showed me a nice blond on the phone - what I would look like when done. It was pretty upsetting to see that I looked like Donald Trump at the end. I asked to fix it and was applied toner for another 10 minutes, which was supposed to take away the brass. Well, it didn't. Got my hair blow dried, and it was terrible. My hair was still wet when I was told I was done. My hair is flat as is but looked even flatter. I can't believe I paid $25 to do what I can myself much better. So I left the place $90 poorer and was not only unsatisfied, but totally unhappy, to the point that I went straight to the pharmacy. Spent another $10 to dye my own hair back my original color. $100 and 5 hours later I was feeling depressed because of my over-dyed hair. What a waste. Maybe their haircuts are alright, but do not dye your hair there. The place lacks the professionalism that a woman in her 30s should expect. I will not go back. read more

The haircuts of my children are always perfect. I recommend Anita for kids cuts. For dying hair and modern haircut there is only one I like: Veronica. The place is fine, not super fancy but it is clean and modern. Plenty of space between stations. All the girls are nice. read more

I used to come here because it's one of the few places that's open on Sundays (the rest of my week is crazy busy). The last time I got a hair cut, I had several pictures for reference, and explained in painstaking detail exactly how I wanted my hair, but she still EFFED it up!!! I must've gotten a new girl, coz I always got the same haircut and no matter which girl I had an appointment with, they used to get it just right. This new girl cut it WAY shorter than I wanted coz she just kept snipping off more and more trying to "fix" it. I was almost in tears by the time she was done and they asked if I wanted to come back another day (I guess they had other appointments to get to) so she can fix it -- why in the world would I want the same girl to "fix" it?!? So she can eff it up some more?!? Yeah, hair grows back, but in the meantime I had to relive this trauma everytime someone gave me a fake smile and said,"WOW, your hair is...um, different." read more
