I was a walk in for a full set on Saturday at 1 pm. I realize that this is not an easy act to do. They did seat me within about 10 minutes MAX. This is why a one star feels accurate. I showed my tech a picture of what I wanted, she asked if I wanted dip or if it needed to be acrylic and told her that I didn't care how this design was done but I wanted it to look just like the inspo pic that was posted here. She said that's fine I can totally do that. She did the service and even corrected the nail that I saw was crooked so that it wouldn't be when she dipped it. She also cut off the acrylic a little long and I told her I wanted them shorter like the picture and she said she just was leaving room for filing. She was a great communicator. When she did the top coat she added a glitter top coat which was not pictured and I thought, "it's not the end of the world I'll just take it". Well we got to the check out and I looked at my nails and they are not what was pictured. I was pretty frustrated but left to go pick up my car for an oil change. I sent these pictures to my sister to see if I was being too high maintenance and she agreed that this was not done well even to the standards of the other pictures posted on the reviews. So I called the store and asked to speak to the manager (against every bone in my body) and politely asked if they could get me back in to just level out the dip and reapply the top coat and trim the side of my nails in a little bit. The store manager told me she would be happy to fix them at 5 pm when they had time. I asked if there was anyone else sooner as I live in Girdwood and made the trip today as a little treat but needed to get back home sooner. She said there was absolutely no time before 4 that she could get me in. So I agreed and called my fiance. I then called back to see if I could come show her that there was blood glued down to my nails, the unevenness and just get even a partial refund and she said she does not refund but is available at 5 pm to fix it for me. I am so disappointed in the response to fixing this. When I left the shop there were 4 techs sitting together hanging out, when I drove back by to get the images of the shop sign there were no cars in the parking lot. I will not be returning and I recommend either going to a different shop or being much more firm than I was when sitting in their chair. $90.00 / 2 hrs / Painful Experience / Poor Quality Just moved into Anchorage from out of state. I requested a removal and a full set of French tips. I can't speak for the quality of every nail technician but this nail set in the picture was horrible compared to the 4 week old gel-x set that I had before this. When "Christine" was applying the extensions, I know I should have just completely stopped her there immediately. She was placing them crooked and unaligned from the beginning. The craziest part was when she was struggling to form a French tip with the dip powder and said, "It's hard because it's dirty." She went on to explain that the reason she was struggling was because the person who used the powder before her DIDN'T CLEAN IT PROPERLY. Now I'm just thinking about an infection because she cut me twice. I felt the first cut on the table and found the second one later in the night. My bleeding stopped very quick but it's was still very painful and uncomfortable on my cuticle. She ended up apologizing a lot for the 2 full hours she had me there, gave up on the dip powder and ended up just painting the French tip on in the end. This technician also tried to form an apex with the gel top coat which resulted in a very blobby form. It was $90 dollars. She knew she did a terrible job and she knew she kept me too long. Two other girls around said to just call if you need help. Again, I can't speak for all their employees I've heard that the "owner" and "May" give very great service, but I don't know if I'm truly ever coming back here. read more

She replicated exactly a design I'd seen on IG, and I seriously love the end result! Every person who works in the salon is welcoming and super friendly. I came in on a walk in mid week during lunch. the place was empty. young teenage girls sitting around waiting for customers. the girl that took me had an attitude and was very condescending. I was in a good mood and just rolled through it. i wanted a full set that turned out absolutely awful. bumpy and crooked nails. my 15 year old neighbor practicing a full set on me did a better job. I also asked to get a pedicure because I was treating myself. there was no menu of services. just a quick 15 minutes rushed through pedicure and god awful looking full set. then I go to pay and it's $180. I've attempted to be a client at this location 3 times within the last 5 years. Each interaction felt mediocre, and had slow service. I will go by experience: 2017: I went in to have an acrylic set removed, the lady who helped me drilled all my top layer of my nails off. I couldn't get my nails done for about 3 months after that, when I washed my hands my fingers burned and they weren't strong enough to scrub my scalp when I washed my hair. 2019: I went in again to have an acrylic set removed. I waited for about 15 minutes before being sat at a station, waiting another 10 minutes until someone started working on me, then halfway through my removal, the lady helping me sat up and said someone else will help me shortly. I waited for another 10-15 minutes with foil on my fingers before I took it off, washed my hands, and walked out of the salon. Today: I called beforehand to let the technician know that my brother had autism, and was getting a pedicure with me as well - that if they could please be gentle that would be great. I was told on the phone to repeat everything I said when I arrive to my appointment.. but it's a little difficult and personal to be explaining situations such as this in a very small salon. I felt a bit disregarded, so now it's a review. My appointment was for 4PM, I arrived at 4:03, I wasn't seen by a technician until 4:23. They didn't have the samples of the colors available, so I decided to not get color. During checkout, unfortunately I couldn't understand what the explanation was for pricing, and the lady helping was on the phone with someone else while finalizing my service. I was handed my receipt but with no pen. I paid $90 for 2 basic pedicures with no polish. I am remorseful to leave a review like this, but feel that the salon needs some type of improvement in management, training, and customer service. I've heard other good reviews of this place, but can't say I've personally had one. read more

Well for starters I told my nail tech what I was looking for (short stiletto nails) and she said ok. She didn't talk much, there were moments of talking but not much. She asked if the length was good but didn't ask about the shape. (I wasn't going to complain about the shape cause I could fix it at home and make them more pointed) but when I went to pay they said $50 and I pulled out the little pamphlet with their services and said, I thought is was only $40... well apparently its $10 to shape them, which it doesn't say ANYWHERE and no one said anything when I asked for the shape. Then to top it all off when I tied my shoes the nail polish got all kinds of messed up. I wouldn't suggest going here, and if you do got make sure to ask how much every little thing costs!! read more

I was a walk in. Greeted promptly and seated right away for my pedicure. Place looks clean, but when I went to sit it stunk pretty badly and the tools the technician used were not in one of those sanitary packets they usually come in. I ALWAYS get a pedicure in Cali and in my hometown Vegas and that's usually how it works. I know it won't be the same everywhere, but when the water goes cold after 3 minutes and I don't see you clean your tools that are just in a random box and you're just putting them back in as you go, I kinda get a little scared. Upside was my technician spoke English and was very nice. A tad tough with my feet, but gave a great massage. She was amazing with massage. If I could pay for just that I would. I'm not sure this will be my new regular place, but I've finally got out and got a pedicure so I think I'll try a few more places before deciding. It's just strange to pay $35 for a basic pedicure. These are dip powder from a few days ago... they appear to be much older, and already looked grown out because of the large amount of space behind them when they were first done. I chose a solid rusty color, and the manicurist put white powder over it; in person they appear grainy and have little dark and light spots that look dirty. The clear top coat started peeling the day of, and I have been gentle on them. You can see how parts are shiny and parts are matte. My mom got a pedicure from a different person and while they look good, her toes were bleeding a lot from her being rough on them, and that was not acknowledged at all. My manicurist was a really sweet lady and they are shaped really well, but because of the polish that was a huge waste of $50 +tip (pedicure was $40+tip.) read more

This was the worst gel nail manicure I have ever had. Let me preface this by saying I don't need much in a manicure. My nails were filed unevenly, the polish was lumpy and thick and had bubbles in it. I couldn't be more disappointed. After trying out a couple different nail salons around town and being disappointed by their sloppy work, I can say that I tried Beauty Nails & Spa and am very satisfied. The salon was very clean, you have to take your shoes off at the door in an effort to help keep the salon clean. The girl that did my gel manicure was quick, but did neat work. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that a couple of my nails are a tad too short. Although, I did ask for them to be super short, so I can't really be too upset. I got a cool color changing shellac manicure. I highly recommend this place. I will be back. in the photo you can see the color changing from pink to purple on a couple of the nails. I've only gotten manicure/shellac from here so i don't know about pedicures but one of the best shellac designs I've gotten done! I've been going to this place for years and they are one of a kind. The owner, Song, works every day and that says a lot about how she runs and cares for her business. She is a true nail artist. She frequently travels to nail conventions and always has the latest greatest nail styles and technologies. They offer an incredible selection of shellac and gel polishes that I've yet to see anywhere ever. The nail technicians have all been there long term, including Erika, who has been there from day one, 7+ years, and is an artist in her own right. That also speaks volumes to me - when employees stick around for so long. The shop is cute, clean, and in a convenient south Anchorage location, adjacent from the Dimond mall. This was my first time trying dip nails. I was assuming it would be a "manicure" as well. With the lotion and the massage part. Nope, it was strictly the dip. As she was filing my nails and using the powder. It all became stuck underneath my nail. She would use a brush to dust the powder off my hands and such but it just became more and more caked under my nail. It's going on day 4 and they still look good. Just was very surprised by the $60 charge just to have dip on my nails and have powder caked underneath them. Lady was very nice though. If the dip lasts, I will def try it somewhere else for $60! read more

This salon is usually my go because i always go to the same girl. I went in today for an APPOINTMENT, just to remove my acrylic nails. This service takes no longer than 20 min usually, I know because I've had it at other salons many times. Well even with an appointment I was here for an hour sitting there watching the girl who was supposed to be doing my nails doing another girls nails. Like??? I went in with an appointment and everything. How annoying and rude to have to waste my time just because my service is not as expansive as the other customers. Decided to try this place based on the other reviews I've seen and did a walk-in for a mani/pedi. I must say, this place is sooooo cute. Very clean, very nice staff. I only go with Evelyn but anytime I go in for my appointment I am never greeted by the other workers, as someone who has worked with different costumer service I would think greeting someone no matter what it is important. May is Amazing! She's the best that I've had so far. I've been getting my nails done for 20+ years. I had gotten acrylic nails done. They were super thin, very natural looking- but strong. I haven't had a nail break yet and I'm pretty rough with my hands. She knows the latest trends and can duplicate them. Definitely recommend this place.
