We walked in and they acted like we were inconveniencing them. There was no one else in the place. The lady ended up ripping some of my existing acrylics off and taking many of my natural nail layers with them. She also did not reshape them correctly and she did not file down the other nails to match length even after I asked her to. The layer of acrylic she applied was so thin and burned my fingers. She also filed off some of the nail finish and didn't fix it even when pointed out and she noticed the problem. My friend I was with also asked for a very simple monochrome stripe design. The man cut her finger multiple times with the dremel tool with the acrylic, got UV-cured gel polish all over her fingers even after "fixing" it. He attempted to do the stripe design and the lines were all over the place. she showed him the inspo photos and it did not look anything like it. She ended up scrapping the design and opting for a chrome, which got all over her fingers and he didn't wash it off. Overall the place seemed clean but the vibe was unprofessional and seemed like they did not want us there. Not sure if it's just because of the time we went (midday on a Friday) but I would caution people on going here if they want anything other than a solid gel nail color. read more

This salon is a nice hidden gem in Anchorage. I always call for an appointment and they have gotten me an appointment on the same day within several hours of calling them before. They seem to be not that busy the last two times I've gone in. It's a very nice nail salon and atmosphere. I get a basic pedicure every time and they do a fantastic job. They also seem to be very slightly less expensive than most of the nail salons in Anchorage. Well worth it! read more

They have a large color selection of both regular and gel nail polishes. You'll be sure to find a color you love. The technicians are thorough and well practiced in making sure your nails look their best! Service is decent. I'd come to Signature for my last few pedicures with Corey and he always did a pretty good job. Early yesterday afternoon, I called to see if Corey had any pedicure appointments available that day. After going back and forth on available times with the man who answered the phone, I booked an appt for later that afternoon. I got there a few minutes ahead of my appt time to check in. The woman told me that Corey was on vacation. I was like I just called earlier today and made this appointment, why would you book me with someone who is on vacation? Anyways, the woman said she could do my pedicure. I said ok. She was very rough the entire time. Acted like she was bothered. She scraped my the side of my foot with the foot file, cutting the side of my foot where the skin is soft. Also, while I'm the middle of my pedicure, Corey, the man I'd made an appt with walked in. What?? They said he was on vacation. What a trip. I brought in my own polish -- a bright red. She painted my toenails very sloppy, getting polish all over my skin. I told her that she didn't do a good job, that the polish needs to be cleaned up. She just stared at me and glared. I was pretty taken a back. The atmosphere was really nice but my mani pedi took 2 and a half hours. It didn't turn out terrible but I've had better BUT I ended up getting an infection on my toe which I'm really upset and grossed out about. The guy who did my pedicure cut around my nail and it's infected. They need to be more careful with their tools. I am now just hoping the tools were clean so the infection doesn't get any worse. This is the best nail spot in Anchorage. My friend and I picked this place based on Yelp reviews and wandered in one afternoon. It was the cleanest nail salon I've ever stepped a raggedy little foot into. I literally walked in with nails that looked as if I'd been trying to claw my way out of a basement for the past week and my friend had mostly grown-out gel polish on her fingers. We were a mess. Each of us chose a deluxe spa pedicure and basic manicure for a combined total of only $55. Score. The atmosphere was uber relaxing, and the technicians who did our nails completely pampered us. Even my basic mani included a hand and shoulder massage and a dollop of sugar scrub. And the massage chairs are modern and luxurious. Just a little heads up, you can turn off the "lower body airbag" if things get too...um...intimate(?) with that particular piece of machinery. I've only been here for pedicures and the first couple times were great because I had this sweet lady do them each time. I haven't seen her around in a while and the last two times I've been there a boy did them, not the owner. He's very ruff! He doesn't know when to stop going at your nails to the point where they bleed. He cuts them round and picks under ur nails for the longest time. I'm scared I may get an infection. I didn't want him to do my nails for the second time but he was the only one available. I definitely won't be back anymore. First review on yelp only because I had such a negative experience. My technician made 3 of my fingers bleed during the cuticle trimming. The paint on my nails was done unevenly and was way too thick- after over 40 minutes of drying under the UV light they were still tacky. When I showed the poor craftsmanship to the other technicians they agreed that it was not good work and offered to fix them. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go through the whole process again and opted to leave instead. I requested a discount due to the service rendered and was outright refused. The technicians said the only way I could receive a reduced fare was if I took the time to get my nails redone or had them completely take off the color. I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews because I had a really disappointing experience end to end. read more

I found this place randomly and I'm so glad I did! The inside is very clean and modern more like a lower 48 salon. The prices are comparable to anywhere in anchorage. My nail tech was very sweet and did a GREAT job fixing the horrific manicure I had gotten the day before. They also give mini back massages to those getting a manicure. I chose this salon because of reviews on Yelp. It is a new salon, very nice and well decorated. The staff are all very friendly and made me feel welcome. The instruments are individually sealed, and it is apparent the staff is responsible about cleanliness. There are 18, yes 18, pedi chairs and plenty of nail stations. I called ahead for an appointment, but based on the number of stations for nails and pedis, walk-in appointments are probably not an issue. Definitely going to return! read more

To start off, I will say the salon is very inviting with atmosphere and the service was good. They actually give legitimate massages with a timer and offer neck massages with your manicure; something that most places I've been to either don't do, or throw lotion on you and call it a massage. The technician I had was precise for the most part. The main thing that threw me off was that they don't put bags in their feet tubs. A lot of their instruments didn't come new in a bag; they were reused and looked a little dirty. She nicked my big toe around the bed and I ended up developing an infection.
