I'm partial to Dr Yung, but we have also seen Dr Dinh, Dr Campbell & Dr Boyer and they are all wonderful! The staff here really cares for our fur children as if they were their own! I recommend going with their pet care plans, bc it's very responsible (and a little easier on the wallet) for preventative care. If I ever have a concern they always take my call and offer immediate advice no matter what! I also sincerely appreciate that they have a sister practice, Frontier Vet Hospital in Hillsboro. We recently took our cat biscuit there for his first initial exam and the staff and kindness was great.

I've visited Beaverton Pet Clinic a few times. My first visit was for my dog's annual check-up, and the vet I saw was friendly and helpful. I had no issues at all. However, my experience last month with my cat was concerning. Dr. Dinh suggested that my cat would likely need nearly all of his teeth removed. I wasn't sure how this related to the internal issues my cat was experiencing at the time, and the delivery felt very factual with little compassion. I was also given a costly quote. When I called a few days later after receiving his blood results, the vet mentioned he could not confirm whether the problem was related to the teeth at all and advised me to continue giving him antibiotics until the next checkup. To get a second opinion, I took my cat to my previous vet, who confirmed that the teeth severity was not nearly as bad as I was initially told. My cat may need only a few teeth removed, but with regular check-ups and cleanings, he should be fine. It was such a relief to hear this. I also learned that the original issue was not related to his teeth, but likely a minor stomach bug that resolved on its own. The level of compassion I received there was also much better. Overall, I would not recommend Beaverton Pet Clinic due to what felt like upselling and a lack of clear communication. I am glad I returned to my previous vet. read more

The beaverton pet clinic gave us a really great experience even during a sad time. Our elderly cat was losing weight and we brought him in. Dr. Capodanno was very thorough with scenarios and next steps. She really helped us feel confident in what was going on, even though the diagnosis wasn't a happy one. Unfortunately a few days later things got even worse, and we had to put our loved cat to rest. The front staff was so compassionate over the phone and knew all the things to say to comfort us. Dr. Capodanno was there with us and did everything and again was very comforting to us, as we were sobbing. We are forever grateful for Dr. Capodanno and her staff. read more

This review is a long time coming. I had trouble finding good vets throughout my pets life. This place came out looking good. THEY SUCK. They seem like they care, they don't. My dog had cancer, but that was not the diagnosis that was given to us. We were told she had bad teeth and that was the reason why she was bleeding from the mouth. We took her in multiple times and asked for her heart to be looked at as we were anticipating surgery. Even with the mouth bleeding they told us that antibiotics were not a good idea. They forgot to look at her heart multiple times. Finally the last time we brought her in, they prescribed antibiotics. She then began to go down hill. They finally did an X-ray and Rushed us out because it was closing time. Without any information. They suggested going to Dove Lewis (which was the only good thing they did) When we got to Dove Lewis they were confused why they had not just put our dog down. (I believe the reason was because we got the results at closing). They diagnosed her with fluid around her heart and cancer. We asked for them to look at that at the beginning. Thousands of dollars later, and PTSD, this place should not be treating animals and this place should be shut down. read more

We needed a new vet because we had a sick cat that needed to be seen and our current vet that we'd been at for 6 years blew us off. Our cat wasn't eating and had a sinus infection but we couldn't wait two weeks. So I started calling around and this clinic got us in the next day. There was a slight upcharge for the visit, but it was fine. Every visit we've been there we see a different vet but that is fine for us. Was told we needed an x-ray and a tumor was discovered. Shocked at the price but paid anyway. Ultimately the cat didn't survive but received a nice note from this clinic. Would highly recommend! read more

Welcoming warm business. With road construction on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, it is not easy to reach, but I am happy I did. My Cairn's problem was concerning to me and turned out to be easy to treat. Some pro-active meds, etc. and he had a smile on his dog face. Things are explained satisfactory in fact very well ahead of time my questions were answered. Well the equipment they have as current state of the art. TLDR: Price gauging and upselling on labs. All the positive reviews are several years ago. I should've known this would not work when during our first visit, the vet asked if my name was Japanese and I clarified Korean, she said "close enough." Because so many clinics weren't accepting new pets, I was willing to overlook her casually racist remark. However, what I am not ok with is the amount of unnecessary suffering they put my dog through. When he was vomiting and having terrible diarrhea, they told me I needed to pay $300 for labs and medicine bc it was probably giardhia. Labs came back negative, and he was still vomiting and hurting. He got worse. Then they told me I needed to pay $700 for sedation and x rays bc it was probably a blockage. Again, X-ray results came back with nothing. He was lethargic from the sedation for the next several days. After $1,000+, Mr. Dinh still couldn't give me a diagnosis on what was wrong. The last straw was when he had an UTI, Mr. Dinh told me I needed an urine analysis AND blood work (another $100+). They wanted to him drugged again bc "increased thirst" is a symptom of something more serious. It is also a symptom of, guess what, an UTI. In general, this clinic does not have my trust. It feels like they upsell you on labs and put your pet through all this trouble to price gouge you. They do not care about you or your pet, and I would highly recommend going elsewhere even if it means waiting. Leaving two stars bc they're good at invoices and documentation. read more

I found Beaverton Pet Clinic last year, when I suspected that my cat had a UTI. Our previous vet was not able to see her for over a week, so I called all over the place. Beaverton Pet Clinic was able to have her seen the next day. We met Dr. Yung, who did a thorough exam and got some labs, (all negative) and provided behavioral suggestions. She took plenty of time with us, and genuinely listened, as well as handling our very nervous kitty very gently. We just returned a few days ago, for an annual visit, and received the same excellent care. The front desk staff is personable and genuine, the vet tech was patient and Dr. Yung took the same amount of care. Overall, highly recommend. read more

I have a German Shepherd who is very reactive and is very scared of going to the vet. I was so nervous and had the most worst anxiety I've ever experienced before this visit, I was worried about my dog and how he was going to be and if they were even going to be able to treat him due to his behavior issues. They let me take him through the back door due to his anxiety instead of going into the front around people, they were so gentle and calm, I was so grateful. Highly recommend! Caring, compassionate, professional doctors and staff. Dr. Wilson is the best! Thrilled I found them! Moved from NE to the west side and needed a vet that was closer. A few months after I switched to this vet, my 3 year old cat developed a blood clot. I had to rush her to an after hour emergency clinic and sadly, devastatingly, had to help her pass. There was no cure and she was paralyzed and in pain. The Emergency Clinic notified Dr. Wilson who called me the next day to offer his sincere condolences. He explained in "plain human" what Saddle Thrombus is and why it's so serious and leaves little options. He emphasized that there was nothing I could have done to prevent this or even know that she had heart disease, as there were no signs. He even offered me his number should I have any additional questions. What Vet does that? A week later, I received a beautiful hand written card from Dr. Wilson with the kindest words of sympathy, compassion and support. A few days later I rescued a 7 month old kitty and brought her in for a wellness check to make sure that she was healthy. Dr. Wilson not only thoroughly examined her, he then took the time to answer all of my additional questions about my other cat that died. Once again, he reassured me that what happened could not have been prevented. Her passing was not my fault. Dr. Wilson is genuinely kind. He cares about his clients and their pets, both. I've never felt rushed during appointments and always feel that my questions are answered thoroughly. His staff is also kind, professional and thorough, following up to check on my pets if there were issues. I'm so happy I found Beaverton Pet Clinic and Dr. Wilson. Highly recommend! read more

I'd like to say that this pet clinic is amazing. They have checked my cat and dog here ! They are very caring. You will get a report after every visit. They are decently affordable. I don't live in Oregon anymore and have been struggling to find such a great clinic as them. But when we brought in our other Cat, He suggested a $1,500 Dollar Vet Bill, that we could not afford. We didn't qualify for the Care Credit due to our own Medical Bills. I am a nurse and I know how hard it is working in healthcare taking care of people. Life is finite and we aren't all blessed with good health and a lot of us make poor choices that exacerbate our disease processes. So you do your very best. As a nurse, I am a difficult patient. I know too much. As a cat mom, I can be difficult to satisfy, because I know too much. I have been taking my Luna to Beaverton Pet Clinic for over 7 years. My Luna is 19 with kidneys that have been failing for years now, hypertension, anemia and frequent vomiting. I never thought my Luna would do this well for this long. I give her SQ LR every other day for years now. At home, she is my best patient. Beaverton Pet Clinic has always provided us with excellent care. We used to have Dr. Wilson and I was really sad when he left, but every other doctor that I have dealt with there has provided excellent care and explanations of their plan of care that make good sense to me as a nurse. Stephanie has been excellent in dealing with a recent medication issue with me, that I am sure others would not have had the patience to tolerate me as well. In that situation, I could see myself as being difficult to please. And Alisha, she has just been consistently kind, caring, understanding and comforting. As a nurse these past few years, I have often struggled to keep it together and Alisha, well I can always feel her care, whenever she picks up the phone. Unfortunately, care for humans and care for pets isn't free. Our society doesn't seem to value care. Keeping a pet healthy is an investment and because of the fragility and variability of life, there is not always a clear answer. But what I have experienced at Beaverton Pet Clinic is people who care, people who are doing their best, with Doctors who provide me with explanations for their plan of care that to me, as a nurse, make sense and who show excellent care for my Luna. read more

I have had the worst experience in my eight-year old dog Taylor's life at the Beaverton Pet Clinic over the past couple of years. First, I was chastised by the Vet that I was encouraging my dog to growl, which I never have done. They apparently have a problem with any type of growling, whether friendly or otherwise. Taylor does growl a bit but it is nervous (and even sometimes a happy) growl, not a threatening growl. As vets I would think they could tell the difference. Taylor has never in his life bitten anyone. So, a year ago, they got me to pay $700 for an annual "Whole Health Plan," and upsold me on a flu vaccine that he really didn't need. I reluctantly bought the whole package. But then they told me that I would have to drug Taylor with two tablets of Trazadone because they couldn't handle his "anxiety" as they called it. I reluctantly gave it to Taylor, and he was so doped up that he staggered and tripped over his own walking for SIX HOURS. He felt horrible, and I felt horrible watching him go through that. I told the Vet that I would never do that to Taylor again. I wanted my money back for the "Whole Health Plan," but they said the refund would only be about $5 because of the heartworm and flee medicines that were a part of the package. A RIP OFF! Begrudgingly to get my "money's" worth I set up Taylor's next annual visit (which was apparently included in the "Whole Health Plan,"). This time though, I gave Taylor an approved CBD tincture that I bought at Pet Smart using the recommended dosage to calm him down, and when I brought him in offered to have him muzzled so that the vet would feel more comfortable with his growling. They refused Taylor service of any kind unless I doped him up again with the hideous Trazadone (which by the way I would have to pay for). I will never take Taylor to the Beaverton Pet Clinic ever again! I am in search of a veterinarian that can tell the difference between and threatening and nervous (or happy) growl and who doesn't up sell me with unnecessary services. The bad news: we're becoming something of experts in the area of cats and lymphoma. Our older cat (he's 15) was recently diagnosed with it. After losing our small kitty to the vile disease last year, this recent news has been difficult. The good news: it hasn't spread to his organs. We caught it in time for treatment to have a real probability of success. Beaverton Pet Clinic has provided quality care for our cats for quite a while. My wife has been the one that has primarily dealt with the clinic. She raves about Dr. Nielsen. I've been to the clinic twice, including today, while old cat receives another round of chemo. The office is spotless and actually smells good. This is important because I've got a hyper-sensitive sniffer. Each staff member I've encountered has been friendly. We're hopeful about our cat's treatment options and we're confident the Beaverton Pet Clinic is providing the best care possible. read more

Wonderful!!! I have never had a vet give me his home number and email!! Dr. Wilson was so great with my fur baby Osker! I just moved to the area and I am very particular on finding a vet. As a dog trainer and a rescuer .... highly recommend. They don't push vaccines as I don't feel dogs need as much as other vets try to push for $. He understood that and agreed. He called personally with his labs - not a tech or receptionist - to tell me he is all good. That is the level of care I look for! I normally don't take my pets to this clinic, but I did this one time because my pet was having an emergency and needed to be seen immediately. This clinic had a sooner opening than my regular one. I'm satisfied with my pet's care received here, but this clinic charges more than my regular one (Hart Road Animal Hospital). And I got the impression that the vet here was trying to get me to pay for extra things that weren't necessary--additional tests to find out more about my pet's condition. I went the cheaper route and just got antibiotics, and that cured my pet. I feel like the vet may have been more disappointed about receiving less money than happy about my pet recovering. Another negative about this clinic is that they only offer the 1 year rabies vaccine, not the 3 year one offered by Hart Road Animal Hospital. read more

The vet techs are so nice and the people at the front were so sweet to my 7 month old puppy. So I continued to go back. Which I now regret. For the first visit, my puppy was reasonably nervous. He sat behind me scared and quiet and the vet asked if I considered training him. I asked for what and she said "anxiety" and I asked if training helps anxiety and she said not usually. So I was confused as to why she asked me that, especially since he actually did have months of training. I paid way too much for an exam and for flea and tick medications (which I later found out were way cheaper at other places). And then at the second visit, the vet asked if I considered neutering my dog. I said I would when he is over a year old. Casual, usual conversation. But then it all got weird. I paid over two hundred dollars for two vaccines. One of them required my dog come back three weeks later for another dose. I scheduled the vaccine and left. Three weeks later I received a call from them asking me to collect a fecal sample for testing. I mentioned I only needed the 2nd dose. They said okay and I showed up a few hours later. The vet started to give him an exam and asked again if I would be neutering him and when. And recommended I get blood work done. I asked why the blood work and he said "it's good to do sometimes". I declined. Then they told me I'd be paying $200 for an exam and vaccines. I mentioned I didn't schedule an exam and was only coming in for vaccine dose and that I called earlier to verify. He gave me attitude, said he'd remove the charge just this once, then grabbed his stuff and left the room abruptly, without making eye contact or saying goodbye. This place up-charges and tries to get you to pay for things you don't need and do tests and exams your pet doesn't need. DEFINITELY going somewhere else. read more

This place breaks my heart. I wanted to post this last year , but I mentally could not. My dog, Zelda got very sick, she was throwing up blood, bleeding from the Nose . My whole bed was full of blood, i came in to the clinic ready to put my little girl down. The vet said she had many years left and it was just bad teeth. I was an idiot for listening. 4000 dollars later she died of cancer and we took her to docs Lewis cause the vets are to lazy to do there job. This place needs to get shut down they are garbage and deserve bad things to happen to them. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet. We loved this clinic when Dr. Wilson was running it, but the new ownership seems to have really taken things in a nose dive. I came in last week with my extremely ill dog, and they seemed weirdly a bit at a loss, just gave me a sheet of treatment options like giving him fluids, anti-nausea meds, and doing a fecal test. I said yes to everything, paid, and took him home to wait for test results. I called several more times that week to ask if results were in, was told it would be another day or two each time (we came in on a Tues). Finally I called the following Monday, after fretting over him for days, and this time was told they never did any tests at all. Apparently the sheet had been "an estimate" not a receipt, despite me paying for everything on it and being handed it back and told it was a receipt. They then seemed unsure of how to even refund me for the phantom test I'd paid for. Time will tell if I ever actually see that money again. Sadly I think that was our last time at Beaverton Pet Clinic. read more

Based on an examination I had here, I decided to go ahead with an eye procedure I had been stalling on for some time. The thought was that the growth could be cancerous and waiting any longer could become a big issue. I am glad I listened, because they were right, it was cancer (low grade and was fully removed). Dissapointed in myself I didn't act sooner, but happy they forced me into taking it seriously and getting the work done. The surgery tself went well and my dog has recovered greatly - back to normal in about a week. I did have a few logistical issues along the way, but practice manager responded to my concerns quickly, professionally, and fairly. Happy to continue to do business here knowing that they do great work and take the concerns of their customers seriously. Thanks! read more

Great experience. With covid they have you wait in your car until they are ready to call you in. Dr. Lisa Yung and the staff were very cordial. I didn't meet Dr. Yung but she gave me a call over the phone telling me how healthy my cat Luna is and to not worry about the slight dandruff she had that there's no underlying health concerns and gave me advice on how to address it. She gave me advice on feeding wet food vs dry food and controlling Luna's weight more. She also recommended a fatty acid supplement in case she still had dandruff. I'm happy to report it's been about a month and my cat is dandruff free. Thank you for your help Beaverton pet clinic. I'll be back in 6 months for a follow up visit =) read more

I wrote a five star review for this clinic back in 2015. Recently, however, the clinic transferred to new owners. While one of the new docs seemed knowledgeable, kind and helpful - and some of the longtime techs are still there (and still awesome) - things are changing and getting sketchy. The clinic no longer seems interested in comprehensively caring for pets in the context of their family. And there is a new know-it-all, pink-haired receptionist (tech?) with a misplaced air of superiority. It breaks my heart to say I need to begin the process of transferring the care of my cats to a new clinic... and that my rating for what had previously been the very best vet ever has dropped so low. I can only hope I find a new clinic with the excellence, strength of character and level of care and dedication that Dr. Wilson created with the old Beaverton Pet Clinic. We typically bring our dog to Aloha Dog and Cat but needed to get him in for some shots that needed to be updated so we could kennel him. Dr. Melissa was such a sweetheart! She was super detailed, professional, easy to talk too and informative about all the things we needed for our dog. She and everyone I talked to was super nice and attentive!
