I grew up eating Bolivian food, and this place definitely did bring back some memories! We ordered the chairo soup, pique a lo macho, and salteñas. The chairo was good, but it tasted a little different from what I remember back home. Probably because the ingredients here are a little different. The pique a lo macho, however, was amazing! The combination of sliced beef pieces, eggs, tomatoes, and onion in a juicy sauce was just delicious! Especially with the llajua sauce they give you! The salteñas were also really good! They tasted exactly how I remember them, savory and juice filled with meat and veggies. Overall, the food was amazing and I will probably be returning soon! read more

I drive an hour to go to Bebas to pick up Bolivian Saltenas or empanadas--delicious Latin street food.

For years we have driven to Beba's for her saltenas despite the traffic. At this point I can no longer eat them since I'm gluten free however they bring a smile to my Bolivian father's face and my teenager. Each pilgrimage finds us buying 50 or 60 frozen to make the 5 freeway trip worth it in time and gas. At one point, more than likely when I was a teenager they were plumper and cheaper but we have tried others and we always come back to Beba's. read more

Took my momma for a trip to her homeland cooking! Place is usually empty on a Saturday at 3pm but I did see plenty of to go orders. To start, our party of 8 had a round of the BEST saltenas - savory and always with that soupiness that is like Bolivian gold! Everyone loved their meals: sajta de pollo, silpancho, milanesa de carne and milanesa de pollo, caldo de maní, lomo something with eggs on top. All the food is authentic Bolivian fare, with every bite transporting you to a country that has unique spices, savory and lovingly prepared! The highlight for our drinks was the mocochinchi, the disappointment was the chicha morada, which was bottled. I figure it would not be cost effective if they prepared their own, since it doesn't get too busy, which means that it wouldn't sell out fast enough and then quality would be poor. The first bite and nostalgia hit pretty hard, the same taste and aroma experienced in Bolivia. Just be careful not to bite right into it because the steaming hot stew inside can burn your tongue. I picked up the chicken and beef and tried one vegetable this time. The dough is sweet, and the stew savory, flavorful and delicious. Each one cost $3.50. Best to call ahead as they're made to order and will take an average of 25 minutes or so. Or you can order onsite and visit the nearby Anaheim Town Square to pick up some other goods. read more

The place has ample parking and the decor is clean and minimal. While we were waiting for the food, the tv had Bolivian music videos playing. The waitress was friendly and prompt. The saltenas are out of this world. I thought it was going to taste like an empanada but no. It was so flavorful. The crust was this sweet type of pastry almost. The meat was flavorful and there was so much juice from it, almost reminded me of an XLB dumpling. I could have a bunch of these in one sitting if left to my device. I also had the soup, I can't remember the name but it was quite tasty and they give huge portions of food here. The Sajta was bomb. The chicken was so tender, it melted in my mouth. It just fell off the bone. It tasted so good and with the rice, sauce and potatoes. It was fresh and felt homemade. I can't say enough good things about the place. I will be back for sure. We have never tried Bolivian food so learning about their culture while experiencing their cuisine was fun & different from the ordinary. I can only speak to the Salteñas. I order them regularly. The beef and chicken are the best, they are delicious! The place is somewhat spacious, and the times I've arrived there are people dining in. By what I have seen and heard, this place is true to the Bolivian culture. I recommend visiting for take out and dining in. read more

I think this is the best Bolivian food around here. I live in the San Fernando Valley, and if I'm ever in OC, I tend to stop here. If you don't know Bolivian food, do yourself a favor and go order a silpancho and a beef salteña. Salteñas are the latin american version of soup dumplings and they will rock your world. Beba's, in my opinion, has some of the best Salteñas, and I've had the Bolivian Llama Party ones in New York and the ones from El Castor in La Paz. The ambiance is cool. If you go on a weekend, you may see a live band playing. read more

Those saldenas. They are definitely the highlight of this establishment. I can eat those anytime. They are a juicy meat veg and egg filled pastry baked. It's soupy inside as well. Arriba Bolivia! My sister in law's family is from Bolivia and so my sweetie and I were very curious about this eatery. We wondered if the food would be as good as the delicious homemade dishes we had during the holidays. We're delighted to report that we enjoyed our scrumptious lunches at Bebas. I had the delicious silpancho which is a schnitzel type, thinly sliced beef accompanied with thin fried potato slices and pico de gallo. It comes with eggs but I opted for no eggs. The rice is nice and buttery. Home run on the silpancho. My sweetie had a similar beef dish. However his had this really amazing fried cheese, Bolivian corn, and fava beans. All super delish! The Bolivian corn is huge and takes minimal effort to bite off from the cobb. He also had the sopa de mani which is a peanut soup. Very good. We tried the dehydrated peach and cinnamon drink called the mocochinchi. He found it to be refreshing. I however found it too sweet for my liking and opted for a bottled soda. Our server was pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately they seemed to be only staffed with 2 servers. Each table in the dining area was occupied by patrons. They need to prepare for these kinds of rushes especially on Sundays. Signage outside is a bit odd. Don't know how to run a business. Service is non existent. Appeasing themselves over customer is necessary. Drove from The San Fernando Valley seeking some "authentic bolivian cuisine". Arrived before "opening " time at 11am. You would assume they would start an hour or two before opening hour to prep... Anyway...get there 10 minutes before 11 and ghost town. Nothing wrong because it's still not open. But my assumptions of someone getting there at 11 to start prepping becomes more real. 11th hour arrives and still nobody. Worker arrived 11:10, lights up the open sign 11:15am and doesn't allow me in until 11:20 because she was on the phone probably taking orders. Walk in and tells me no food available but only saltenas. Alright cool...but she tells me 40 minutes to prep them. Clearly they fell asleep... Extremely inconvenient but considering my car drive to get some decent Bolivian food, I figure I would just wait. Until she tells me that I must pay individual pricing for saltenas. I wanted at least a dozen and my total would end up being $50+ They are within their rights to price as they please.
