4.5/5! Wow! What have I been missing? Tried out Bedder, Bedder & Moore last weekend and man I'm glad I did. Parking isn't an issue, but could be if they get very busy. Cozy inside with plenty of seating. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Now to the food, I got the Philly cheesesteak with no mushrooms to-go. It was so perfectly done! Tons of beef, peppers, onions, etc. Really well done, one of the better ones I've had. NOTE: If you order food at the restaurant you also get a free cup of soup as well. Perfect on a chilly day. I have seen this place multiple times but haven't been able to try it since their hrs don't alight with my available free time. So I was very pleased when one of my coworkers who knows them really well informed me that they will deliver. We ordered the new menu item "the big Paul", a Reuben with added rosemary beef. Apparently my coworker, who is Big Paul lol, started the trend and promoted it so much that so many people went to ask for it they finally made it a regular menu item. It is soooooo good! So much meat on the sandwich, and if it was that good on delivery I can imagine how much better it would be if I ever get a chance to sit down in the restaurant and have it fresh off the presses. And the sweet potato bar?? My good sweet Lord it was amazing! I took mine home and warmed it up and but and it tasted fresh out the oven. Amazing! read more

I finally made it to Bedder Bedder and Moore in Lower South End after seeing it pop up in a few foodie threads. I never felt a rush to go until my friend hit me with the "trust me... it's a must." So off we went. When we walked in, the dining room was totally empty. Like eerily quiet. I started second-guessing everything. Two minutes later, a line started forming behind us. Five minutes after that, it looked like a company lunch break exploded inside. I guess we were just fashionably early for the lunch rush. It's a deli-style spot where you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. No numbers, no receipts to wave in the air... just good old-fashioned intuition. Somehow, they nailed it and brought our food to the right table with zero confusion. Impressive. The menu covers everything from quesadillas and wraps to burgers, salads, and sandwiches. They do in-house delivery for orders over $25, and they don't mess with third-party apps. Bonus points for keeping it local. They also do a ton of catering, so if your office is nearby, this could be your team lunch hero. Now let's talk about "The Big Paul." This isn't an official menu item, but Charlotte Foodies member D Paul Stewart II gave his go-to order that nickname. It's the classic NY-style Reuben, loaded with corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss, and thousand island on grilled marble rye... except he adds rosemary roast beef to it. I followed his lead, added the rosemary roast beef, but skipped the sauerkraut because it's not my thing. Even without it, this sandwich slapped. I've seen a lot of folks ask where to find the best Reuben in Charlotte, and honestly... this might be it. It's huge, cheesy, juicy, and served on that perfectly griddled marbled rye. I had to take half home to enjoy later, standing in front of the fridge like a raccoon with no regrets. Every meal also comes with a free cup of one of their daily house-made soups. I picked the cabbage and beef, my friend went with chicken noodle. Both were solid. Mine was cozy and full of chunky veggies, and my friend finished theirs so fast I didn't even get a sip. And just when I thought I couldn't like this place more, I saw the sign: Buy a quart of soup, they donate a quart to local charities. That kind of generosity doesn't go unnoticed. I was way too full to get dessert, but they had a whole chalkboard of homemade options including cookies, brownies, lemon cake, and sweet potato bars. I don't know how long I've had Bedder Bedder & Moore bookmarked. It's been years. The challenge is that they have a very narrow window of opportunity and I'm just not in LoSo at lunch time. But I managed to make a way and here we are. My order was placed on the app and about 20 minutes later, I popped in to pick it up. Unwrapping back home, a perfect Italian hoagie was there. Just the right balance of ham and salami and pepperoni with provolone, topped with roasted red peppers and LTO and oregano and oil & vinegar. Oh, so much flavor and taste! Served with a small bag of Utz chips and two pickle slices, it was just the lunch I needed. Maybe I won't wait so long to do this again. I had lunch here today for the first time. I was nearby at a training and I've heard talk about the place so I figured I'd try it out. I called my order in because I was on a time crunch; the gentleman said it would take 10 minutes. I ordered very basic honestly-a club sandwich. I walked in about 5 minutes later and was greeted; I advised that I called my order in and I paid. I asked for mustard and she advised it would be placed in the bag. The hostess was nice and friendly. I waited patiently and it began to get crowded; lunch time. About 10 minutes passed and I saw a gentleman bring several bags out and of course I assumed one was mine because after all I just ordered a sandwich. So I stood up and waited for the hostess to finish with the customer and then she looked over at the bags and advised me it wasn't ready and that they will call my name when my order was ready...okay, I sit back down. This whole time I haven't heard any names called. Another 10 minutes pass. A lady finally comes out of the kitchen and confirms my order and then she hands me my bag which was sitting over there the whole time. Grr. I then check my bag, no mustard. I asked and the lady went back to the kitchen to provide me with some. Of course I was a teeny bit upset because I was already on a time crunch and to wait 25 mins for a sandwich is kinda crazy especially when it was sitting there the whole time. Now on to the food. It was a basic club sandwich on wheat bread, too toasted in my opinion and the bacon wasn't crispy. It came with a bag of utz original chips and a few chip pickles. After seeing a picture somewhere of the reuben from Bedder, Bedder, & Moore (Charlotte Agenda maybe?), a discussion began between a friend and me about our love for reubens. Further questions led to discussion about what the best reuben in Charlotte was, and thus A Reuben Adventure was born (both our names start with A). I was excited to try the reuben that sparked the adventure and has led me to try about 30 reubens around the city. I wouldn't say the reuben is the best in the city, but it is in the upper third of the many I've tried. The reuben is fairly classic - decent corned beef, covered in swiss, proper amount of kraut and russian to top it off, and of course surrounded by rye. The corned beef had good flavor, and the heaping of swiss added plenty of flavor. Although the bread was advertised, it was just standard marbled rye. My biggest qualm was with the kraut - it was a bit stringy in texture, something I have since realized is likely because it was tossed on the griddle and dried out (this has happened at numerous other places I've tried). The stringy texture clashes with the rest of the sandwich and takes it down a notch. Overall I was still happy with my selection and would recommend anyone stopping in to give the reuben a try. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is delicious! The restaurant is clean, staff is friendly and prompt. I had the rosemary crusted roast beef sandwich and boy was it tasty. The beef was tender and tasted of rosemary as it should. The hoagie roll was toasted with garlic butter, with the right amount of chew, soft and warm. The sandwich came with an au jus for dipping that really made it all come together. I will be back to try some of the other sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts! read more

This place reminded me of the typical delis I would find back in the Philadelphia area. It's a quick spot to grab lunch and the portions are a good size. This isn't the place to come if you want to be served and dined, but if you want a good deli sandwich, then yes. I tend to judge places based on staple foods (sushi- spicy tuna, Greek- gyro meat, etc) so when I came here I went right for their "New York style Ruben". It is served with a complimentary bowl of whatever soup they have that day and chips. There was a good amount of corned beef and the ratio of kraut/thousand island was spot on too. Now there aren't mounds of corned beef like you might get in PA/NJ/NY but they certainly didn't skimp! All in all, I was pleased in what I was served for lunch and will certainly be back to check out this deli again! read more

Ummmm ok.. Foods 5/5 stars. The bacon burgers was yummy.. nicely cooked and comes out very very hot. And each and every customers get soup regardless of what you order. Customer services: 2/5 stars. We have a gentleman that was serving us. Occasionally he would forget about us. Then there's a lady that came back to ask whose is assisting us. My bestie pointed out. That lady quietly told him, this is my table. Then he turn to us and said how she treating you.. I'm thinking she haven't service us. You forgot us for a min. But wait whose servicing us now because I need water. Overall 3/5 star. Food come fast, good and piping hot. Too hot.. I would come back.. I had a very positive experience at Bedder Bedder and Moore today. A coworker suggested picking up lunch here. I had never heard of it so I checked out their menu online. It was exactly what I was in the mood for. He gave me a coupon he had grabbed last time he was in there for $5 off when you order online. The code didn't work when I tried to order online but I ordered anyways. When I arrived, a very friendly women greeted me. We chatted for a bit. In conversation I told her that the code on the coupon cards they had didn't work, she offered to reach out to the third party app company to see what was up. I also asked her what types of soups they rotated between, after telling me she offered to grab me a cup of their chicken noodle to take with me! When she brought me my to go order, she handed me a 5$ gift card to use the next time I ordered online. Now THAT is what I call customer service. This is for sure my new lunch spot. read more

I have driven by this restaurant many times headed to work. I had never been & don't know anyone who has been but I decided to give them a try today. BIG MISTAKE!!! No one spoke when I walked in, although one older woman looked right at me. A younger woman came to take my order. I'm going to assume her name is SABRINA since that's what's on my receipt (attached to this). She was very dry; no big deal, maybe that's her personality, who knows. I informed her that this was my first time here and asked about their specials and specialties. She showed me the menu. Being that this is called a delicatessen, I expected a variety of deli style sandwiches...nope! Maybe I am accustomed to something different up north. Either way I decided to order the Greek Pita which, according to the menu, comes with chips and pickles. (They fail to state that by pickles, they mean 2 pickle slices). I asked about getting fries instead, to which she said it's an up charge of $2.xx. I asked if it's an order of fries because the cost is the same as a side. Her response "our meals are very filling"...glad to know but it doesn't answer my question. So I finalized my order by getting the Greek pita as is. She took my payment, said absolutely nothing and walked away. I asked if the receipt comes with the food and she said it'll be in the bag. Most, if not every other restaurant I've been to will let you know how long it'll be before your food is ready. I decided to wait in my car. When I went back in, no one spoke and the young lady who took my order (which I later found out was sitting on the counter), looked me in the face, said nothing and started serving food. A nice " I'll be with you in a moment" would've sufficed. Grabbed my food and when I got to work to eat. It was the most unseasoned chicken I've had since moving to Charlotte. It wasn't dry, it just was not seasoned AT ALL!!! The chips and two pickle slices were good though. I placed an order on 10/10/14 around 9:40am, using the Paypal (eat24) app on my phone. I been reading the reviews and some are good and some are not, so I decided to try it out. I got to the store at 10:10am and I told them I had placed an order and I was picking it up. I gave them my name and I had to wait 5 minutes, I could tell they forgot to do my order which was the Char-broiled caesar salad, because they were asking me what I wanted in it, when I had already specified online. My time for pick-up was 10:05am I waited and after 5 minutes someone from the kitchen gave me my food. I went home and when I opened the foam container, all I had was a Big Tortilla Bowl filled with bad lettuce(practically brown) up to the top and just a few pieces of tomatoes, 4 croutons and ONLY, I repeat ONLY 4 tiny strips of Chicken, they weren't like Chicken tender strips, all I had was 4 strips of chicken which looked like they pulled from the breast. My total was $10.11 for this salad, which I didn't mind at first, but this is pathetic. I would stick to Subway's Salads around the corner, even they have fresher lettuce. read more

At first I loved this place. A little strip mall sandwich shop with a country cooking feel. I read on Yelp that all meals come with a free soup when you dine in. Score! Y'all know I love some free food. The soup of the day on this particular day was beef and lentil and it was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately that soup was the best part of the meal. I ordered the weekly special which was a buffalo chicken salad and the sauce had a good spice level and the blue cheese bits complimented it well but the chicken was strange. It was cold and had the texture of rubber like it was a piece of meat so processed it was almost not recognizable as chicken. I didn't eat much of it, but ate around it to try to fill up on lettuce. The server was very friendly and I liked that they had placed out samples of their sweets (I took one on the way out and it was yummy). A couple weeks later I had a stressful morning at work and went home for lunch and knowing this my working from home man ordered sandwiches from Bed, Bedder & Moore scheduled to arrive when I got home. I would review the sandwich if I could but they had not arrived an hour and a half later and I had to get back to work. This was almost 45 minutes after the estimated delivery time and the order was placed well before the lunch rush. Sadly when I think of this place I think of hunger - both from a salad with the chicken I ate around and a sandwich I never received. This is the first time I've ever put a review on Yelp, so you can imagine how I feel. And, it's not a good feeling. Here are the issues: 1. After we had to ask because they forgot our soup, they brought the soup with a beautiful fly in it. 2. We had to ask for drink refills and the waitress appeared inconvenienced. 3. We were charged for onion rings as a side but were not informed of an up-charge when ordering. After feeling dismissed by the waitress from our complaints, we further complained to the owners daughter. Her responses were: we leave the top off the soup in the kitchen and it's summer, so it may get flies in it; the waitress is new, and we are short staffed so she may not remember to tell customers the policy on sides. After this discussion with the waitress and the owners daughter, there was no offer of compensation for these issues. If I loved flies in my soup, 1 glass of tea over lunch, a snippy waitress, and being up-charged for sides without my knowledge, I would become a huge fan of Bedder Bedder and Moore. read more

Great food, a true sit down deli. I've eaten here three times now and the last time I went back to the reuben. They pile the meat up like a stack of hotcakes! Very impressed on the quality and flavor. A reuben should have hearty toasted bread with the dressing coating the whole sandwhich to keep the kraut from making it soggy. I was pleased to get it made right, with some crisp Utz chips on the side! When you sit down they start you with a warm broth soup while you look over the menu. There is something about this place that kind of grows on you. It apparently grows on everyone else because it's always crowded. Although they don't tell you all the sandwiches come with soup, they just ask you which soup you prefer (you don't see it on the menu, so as a first timer I was a little confused.... but not the second time!... yep, I went back again). I will say that the soup was the best thing for me. The chicken noodle soup is savory and delightful (that's what brought me back). The first visit, I ordered a burger with fries and it was just that, a burger with fries. The fries were hot and the burger was ok. The second time I ordered a Philly cheesesteak, which was plentiful and good. Because I ate all my soup (because it was good), the sandwich was an afterthought. The service is ok. Not rude, but not worth leaving more than a 15%-18% tip. The restaurant was clean, not sure about social distancing between tables but I definitely saw them disinfecting and had a good system of identifying clean and dirty tables. The deli is located in a plaza that is like a small strip mall. Parking is ok but I could see if it were really busy, parking would be a problem. Food is outstanding, hands down. From the complimentary cup of homemade soup, sandwiches, quesadillas, etc. it's all delicious. Some issues: TOO much food. After the cup of hearty soup, I am not at all starved anymore. Out comes the biggest wrap I have ever had. I barely ate half. I had my three kids with me and there was no kids menu. EVERYTHING on the menu (whether it's a burger, sandwich, wrap or salad) is all the same price ($8.49) and I think it was $2.49 for drinks. So basically $10 pp so our bill (1 adult/3 kids) was almost $50 with tip. Quite pricey for an informal lunch out. Plus, none of them came close to finishing their meals either. The orange bread up by the counter is SUPER. But that is pricey too. A small (tiny) piece is $3 a piece. Each one my my kids wanted one....so that's another $10. I really love the price and the food. I so far have only ordered the cobb salad and wow! They give you a huge honking chicken breast. I eat half and save the other half for dinner. The salad dressing are all good and fattening I imagine. I always get it on the side with extra lemons - I use the lemons as dressing and will dip a couple of pieces here and there. But for $9.50 - you get a huge salad and FRESH chicken. Really glad a co-worker told me about this place. I always pick up my lunch.
