After I bought and they installed my tire I was told that I'm cheap for wanting a less expensive tire ... extremely rude and unprofessional

Just moved to Texas & needed the vehicle inspection on 2 cars. I called several local shops and either didn't anyone to answer or was told it would take until late afternoon. Calling Bedford Tire & Service I got a completely different response. The woman told me she would get me in right away and the test only took a few minutes. After arriving it was just what she said. She got my 1st car registered & 20 minutes later the technician had the report completed. Went home, got the 2nd car and the experience was the same. The worst service ever!! If you are a woman you will get ripped off!! $1250.00 and 5 visits. Rude employees. Many customers returned with complaints. I know because I've had to spend so much time there. They pass the buck. I honestly don't know how they are still in business. Any good review on here must be bogus! They cost me time off from work and a lot of mental frustration. When I complained on my 3rd visit the manager Patrick said he didn't like my tone. I didn't like the fact that they left me stranded many times because of crappy service and unqualified employees. I will write a crap review weekly. Told them to check over everything really well because I had to drive to Florida, especially the brakes since it was making a sound. They said everything looked great. My 2001 Ford F-150 would not start, although the battery is only 3 months old. I had my truck towed to Driver's Edge (Glade Rd) - a service center I had used before. So yesterday I received a call from the manager of Driver's Edge estimating that I needed to have my entire battery assembly replaced - at a cost of over $1050. He lost said that he recommends getting a factory replacement, which should be an additional $300 and a 5 day wait to receive the Ford Part. I called Ford Parts and was informed that they do not even manufacture that part anymore and that I would have to buy OEM (aftermarket). The Driver's Edge manager also said that it might not fix the issue and they may need to replace the starter, alternator or solenoid. Each at a separate expense. Now, knowing a bit about mechanics I knew this was excessive to say the least. I picked up my truck yesterday and paid $162.99 for "Labor and Diagnostics". It appeared that all they had done was remove my battery and start it with their battery. I asked for a report of the "diagnostics" to which I was denied, said they didn't have it. I took my truck to a Good Year Tire & Sericce service in Bedford (Harwood Rd). They found that my battery terminals were simply corroded, making poor contact with the battery. They checked my alternator, starter, solenoid and battery and offered the reported that all were working perfectly. They were able to diagnose the problem, replace the cable ends and terminals, including wrapping copper shielding to the cable - for a GRAND TOTAL of $102.94. For Parts AND Labor. So, on the way home in my truck (that now runs fabulously) I stopped by Driver's Edge and spoke with the manager. He offered no explanations, and basically said he was sorry that I "felt" this way. I even showed him the report from Good Year to which he said "We don't do that type of repair here". Seriously?? A corroded battery terminal? $102 vs $1050 (to start). That was outright fraud. I filed a complaint with Driver's Edge Corporate and BBB. It is safe to say that I am so relieved to have found an honest mechanic. I HIGHLY recommend this business! Thank you guys! read more

As I walked in they were busy but asked for my keys and went right to work replacing the tire. Friendly and fast but... Tires don't come with or can't. Buy roadhazard? SHADY Was told I had a nail in one tire and a screw in another tire (both irreplaceable) wanted to charge me $226. Just to double check I call my boyfriend(who works at Subaru) and I start telling him what I am being told, and immediately was advised to get my money back and go to Subaru to have it inspected. After arriving at Subaru, also shoutout Subaru you guys rock, the nail in my tire was in fact fixable and on top of that NO SCREW was found in my tire after 30 minutes of DETAILED inspections along with the tire being submerged in soap & water. I'm a college student and SO happy I was not robbed of $226. read more

Let me start by saying I like Goodyear tires. The fuel efficient tires they offer are great! However this service center off Harwood is terrible. 1: The younger chubby fellow behind the counter (Chris?) Who looks like Frank Calendo is very shifty. I've witnessed him call dealerships like a local Mercedes dealership, pretending to be a DIY mechanic looking for how to fix a specific part on a late model Mercedes. They're mechanics right? Why do they need to call a tech at a dealership to figure out what to do next? 2: They've tried swapping prices on me several times only to take back the new price they were trying to give me, and give me the original. The quote is there for a reason. 3: I've received the wrong tire on my car twice! Road Hazard insurance is great! But not if they give you a cheaper tire when something goes wrong. I paid for the best tires, give me the best replacement when one of them is blown out! 4: Appointments mean nothing! They tell you making an appointment will put you ahead of others who are just walk ins. Not the case. I waited over two hours with an appointment just to get my breaks looked at! 5: After my radiator blew up i had to get an emergency tow to this place. It's actually what got me to start going here. They called a tow truck for me. The tow guy handed me a receipt when we got there and said to hold on to it. He said to make sure they didn't try to Jack up the price. It was a 65$ tow. When the repairs were done my statement included an 85$ towing fee. So essentially they charged me 20$ to call a tow truck for me!!! I pulled out the receipt and sure enough they only charged me the 65$. I can't imagine how many other people they've screwed. So why do I even go here? I'm a card holder. While the interest can be high. 6 mos no interest and double rebates on tires can't be beat. Plus discounts and free balance and rotation! The card is a good idea for regular maintenance and tires. But I'm going to have to stop coming to this franchise. This place is ridiculous! The worst part is that i see swarms of the elderly community coming here for services. Probably because the Goodyear brand has a history of being the best. But this place is not representative of the Goodyear brand. read more

Very rude unprofessional staff. I pulled up outside and was going to ask to get air in my tires. I read the workers lips who said to the other guy "what the hell is she doing?" The other guy that was a manager laughed and they both ignored me and let me sit there. If I wasn't supposed to pull up there that's all he needed to say. Chevy Cruz known issue. PCV valve vacuum leak. The PCV valve is not available, you have to replace the entire valve cover. Goodyear Bedford replaced the valve cover gasket instead of the valve cover. They charged $500!! This is a 1 hour job! The check engine code came back. I took my car back and they said the valve cover had to be replaced for another $300!! They are either totally incompetent, or crooks. Since it took me 1 minute to research this issue on YouTube, it my opinion they are CROOKS. Don't waste your hard earned money with these scam artists!! read more

Went there to patch a tire due to a nail. I went to Goodyear because Discount Tire across the street was packed. There was only 1 customer at 8:15 in Goodyear and even with 1 person I still waited over an hour. When the service guy called me over by the door he had my truck jacked up and his mechanic under my motor. No where near my tire. He then proceeds to tell me that I need a new steering gear box and flush and blah blah blah... I said what about my tire? He said " the tire is unrepairable the nail is to close to the side wall" I said " it's in the thread you should be able to plug that". He said " no I can't you need a new tire a new tire to match that is going to be $214". And handed me a quote for the steering gear box for $772... LMAO... I said thank you and I'll inform my mechanic of your findings now please take my truck down and give me my keys. His mechanic gave me a dirty look and took my truck down. He refused to hand me my keys and made me go back inside the store to get them. Here's the kicker about the $772 steering gear box. A week earlier I had my truck at the dodge dealership for an air bag recall. The dealership fixed the airbag free of charge and gave the truck a thorough inspection with their mechanics. The manager at the dealership said " your truck is in IMMACULATE condition with it being over 10 years old - I usually find something wrong but I can't find anything at all"... Beleive me if their was something wrong with my steering gear box the dealership would have POUNCED on it. So I drove immediately across the street to Discount tire. The early morning rush had settled down. I wasn't in the best of moods and told the manager what had happened. He looked at my tire and said that is close to the sidewall but not on the sidewall. It is repairable. He plugged the nail in the tire and rotated my tires free of charge. I would not recommend ANYONE to go to this Goodyear unless you WANT to get RIPPED OFF by them. One of the WORST Automotive places I have ever been too. Stay away. read more

My mom had struck a curb and damaged the rim and somehow the car would not start. Pep boys would not look for a rim for me, said they don't do that. Okay. Had car towed to Darren at Goodyear, he looked at impact and thought maybe a sensor might have tripped from impact. He reset it and car started right up. He got me a rim and new tire and got my moms car fixed. That is service and I can't thank Darren enough, great job!!!! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Foolishly, I went here for years, because it was a few blocks from my house. Their prices are consistently high, and the owner, Bill, lies and deceives when he does business with you. I bought some tires there that needed to be replaced under warranty. The guy there told me my tires (based on their records, since I had bought the old tires there) had 27,000 miles on them. When I went home and checked my records, they only had 20,000 miles on them. Bill, the store owner, said those tires only had a 35,000 mile warranty. When I went home and checked the Goodyear website, it said they had a 50,000 mile warranty. When I called Bill and asked him about this, he said, "It depends on the size of the tire." I said, "There's nothing on the web site that says anything about warranty depending on tire size." (And Goodyear Corporate later confirmed that tire size has nothing to do with warranty.) Then Bill said, "I'd be happy to give it to you under warranty. But it'll come out more than what you paid for them because I gave you a discount." He then plugged it into the computer and said the tires would cost $90 under warranty replacement (I paid $74 for them). I asked how that number was derived. He said the computer used $135 as the MSRP (even though the MSRP that he had in his system (and which another Goodyear had in its system) for the tires was $110). I said, "Even at $135 MSRP, I used 2/5 of the tire, and 2/5 of $135 is $54, not $90. How did the computer calculate $90?" He said he had no control over how the computer did the calculation, and got all flustered and huffy when I asked questions about how the calculations were done, and hung up the phone. Also, I called another Goodyear and just asked them how much they would sell that same tire to me for. The price they quoted me was $65! $65 without any warranty claim. Just someone calling about the price of the tire, they quoted me $65. So, needless to say, my time going to this Goodyear is done -- not just because their prices are consistently higher than other places (even other Goodyear places) but because the owner lies and deceives when doing business with you and plays games instead of honoring a warranty. Oh, and one more thing. Once I needed to have a part replaced, and I got a price from Bill. I asked him if I brought in my own part, if the cost to install it would be just the labor portion of what he had just quoted me. He told me that if I brought in my own part that he would raise the labor rate $20/hr to make up for the money he was losing on not selling the part. I would never recommend this business to anyone. My husband had to have his BMW towed there due to the radiator. The workmanship was less than desirable! The radiator was replaced, but when we picked the car up they had stuck a rag in it and not fully completed the repair. Amazingly, they would have let us drive the car off that way. We have since found out how much higher priced they were than other garages. In addition, less than 18 months later, the radiator has already gone bad. We were told by a BMW specialized garage that this is likely due to the inferior quality of radiator they used (although the BMW garage actually charged less for the better radiator). We went in with a very loud grinding noise in the front driver side wheel well. Unfortunately it wasn't good news. But, we were handled quickly and everything was explained to us. I am bummed that we had to do a major repair, but we were treated very well. The repair was done same day and we feel safe again. I wish I could give zero stars! These guys are soooo slow. Plan to drop your car off or be there all day. This happened to me several times. Had new tires installed and they did not tighten valve stem properly. Tire is now ruined and they say there is nothing they can do. Really?! Will never go back here again for anything! Now I have to fight for them to fix a problem they caused. Really!? This place sucks! Notice they have a picture of their flat screen in the lobby. I love Goodyear tires and had great experiences at other locations over time. This location was a nightmare. I set up an appointment online for 3 days in advance. I called 2 days in advance to ensure the store would have my tires in stock. Person who answered was flippant and didn't want to review details with me. Of course, I show up day of my appointment, (early) and they panic saying they might not have my tires in stock. I explain that I called them days earlier to make sure they would, they didn't want to talk about it. The waiting area was small, dark and dirty and really lacking amenities and comfort. The employees gossiped a lot, loudly, in front of customers. After waiting over three-hours for my tire install, I left and came back. After five-hours, I checked on my car and they weren't even working on it. It was put on the back burner for another project EVEN THOUGH I had made an appointment. After six hours, I had to leave. I left the store with my valet key and got a text message a short while later that my car was ready for pickup. I got there and got in my car with my key fob but the valet key was missing, there was no paper on the floor to prevent messes and there was no paperwork to show work was completed and by whom. Ugh. I stopped back in five times and my key was never found. Now I know there's people with my key who know where I live and what I drive. Definitely not going back and probably moving soon 'cause that's scary. read more
