We went to Bedoy's Bakery on Hillcrest, Sunday, July 19 about 12noon because we really enjoy the donuts and concha. The lady that served me, never said a word to me such as may I help you, what can I get for you, forget any kind of greeting. She would just stare at me strangely. I would just point to the items that I wanted. She'd place them on a tray, again, never saying anything else, just the strange stare. The last item i asked for was a jelly roll. When she placed all the items in a small box, she smeared jelly from her hand onto the whole bottom of the box and handed it to me. I mentioned the smeared box, she didn't say a word. Didn't offer another box or something to clean my hands with. I will never go back to Bedoy's again. Sad that they have a good product, but rude and unfriendly staff. What's not to like about this little bakery? The lady's running it know what they're doing. Great service and even better prices. We tried a few things and they were great. One of the best donuts I've ever had. And the Mexican wedding cookies? So silky and just all around perfect. It's not the best area but don't be fooled. We paid $6.50 for our box of poor health decisions. Worth it! read more

November is a special time for my family to present all the tasty treats that our departed family members enjoyed in life. Bedoy's add that one element that fills the belly and the eyes. Flowing marigolds releasing the aromas that lead to the alters presenting Muertos bread, sugar skulls and love. Excellent donuts. Got the chocolate iced and wife got pink with sprinkles. The inside of the donut was soft and a thin portion of the outer layer had a very slight crisp to it. Perfectly fried in my opinion. Will definitely be going back for more. read more

Updated review* We LOVE Bedoy's Bakery! We've been going every other Sunday to get some treats and they've all been fresh baked nothing stale. Their sugar cookies are really good and decorated cute. It's great to have a nice Panaderia so close to home that also sells good tacos! I've been in a few times on the weekend and the lady isn't so inviting but the pan is good so I look past it. I stopped in today (Tuesday) at around 6:45am and was greeted by two lovely ladies that were so friendly! I tried their tacos for the first time and they're homemade with lots of love and flavor! There's tables to sit and enjoy your tacos/pan and cafecito before heading to work and tackling the day. The best way to start your day is with smiling faces and delicious tacos! IMO I've had their pineapple empanadas and the dough is thin with lots of filling The donuts are so soft and the chocolate is rich! I almost grabbed a sausage and jalapeños Kolache but went with the tacos. I'll report back once I've tried it. I paid a little under $15 for nine donuts, three empanadas and two tacos! Updates: Be careful when ordering bfast tacos. The bag was soaked in grease and leaked onto my seat. Taco was worth it though. Chicken salad combo for $5 was great! Chicken salad on a fresh baked bread, bag of chips and a soda. You can't beat that. It was a pretty decent size too! read more

Delicious custard-filled cannoli for only $1 a piece! A yummy array of empanadas (pumpkin, queso, strawberry, pineapple) for 75 cents each! We scored 30 empanadas for slightly over $22 for a select group of our call center staff and lemme tell you, they were a hit! They now serve tacos for $2 and menudo (not sure on price) and they even have a few little tables with chairs so you can dine and dash outta there in a heartbeat. One trip, and that's it. A few months ago, I asked them to make a special pink cake for me, for my own birthday. They claimed that they could not make a "round, layered pink cake," and that a larger sheet cake would be $60!! Forget that! They just didn't want to do it. I was looking to give some sweet treats as a gift and found this place on Yelp. Turns out this is a local chain and this is the newest location. When I got there, the owner was so helpful. She helped put together several boxes of assorted baked goods (which was perfect because I was dreading having to pick each single item). They have everything from the traditional Mexican treats to donuts to custom cookies. At the end, she even gave me a croissant on the house and helped carry all my boxes to the car. we are pan dulce connoisseurs :) every town we move to, we look for a panaderia. we purchased pan de muerto at Bedoy's booth at a Dia de muertos event. Highly disappointed that a bakery with almost 60 years in the business would serve what we got, I do not mind expensive, If its good. It was just not good. Bedoy's makes the most delicious sweet breads, pastries and other baked delights in town!! We used Bedoy's for the dessert bar at our wedding reception and everything was amazing! Our guests gobbled it all up and wanted more! Patricia Bedoy was so friendly, kind and accommodating. She was quick to respond to my emails and phone calls and got everything just right.
