I am having the worst luck with guests overstaying their welcome since I've moved here. Said guests are bees who decided to set up their swanky crib INSIDE MY WALL. I've never encountered this and I've live all over the world and have dealt with estranged raccoon families, giant spiders living under my bed, rats the size of toasters...but bees? In my wall???? Anyway, when I discovered the problem, a swarm of them were ramming their tiny bee-heads into my window trying to escape. My cats were too fascinated by them and this could potentially be dangerous. You've ever seen a cat stung in the mouth by a bee? Yeah, it's cute. But feline anaphylactic shock is NOT CUTE. I had no idea how to resolve this I tried calling every single bee keeper around in a panic. Apparently it's SWARM SEASON right now, and I'm just one of the many lucky people encountering this exactly when it begins. Nearly every bee person I called in San Diego was a busy bee (hah) and couldn't come out until next week, or ever, as they were all completely booked. Some of them were extremely passionate (*too passionate*, I should say), explaining anything and everything about bees, their love for bees, bee behavior, how bees mate, how bees pick their queen, bee this/bee that for over 20-30 minutes while I'm panicking and want them OUT. Look. I like bees. I respect them. I just don't like them in my house. As much as I'd love to save them and have a beekeeper extract them safely, that would mean destroying parts of my wall of a house I just purchased -- not to mention, repairing said wall. This swarm was huge, so I'd probably end up with my entire living room gone. Anyway, while hiding in my car with 2 cats, 2 parrots, and 1 cowardly dog, I finally found Bee Best. The person on the phone was very friendly and got straight to the point on what to do and how it will be done. They sent out Jeff, who came to save the day! Jeff got to work and identified the bee location. He also pointed out how I could tell if bees invade my home in the future long before the problem starts (put the palm of your hand against the wall and feel for "warmth" emitting from bees, or put your ear against the wall to hear them humming). Unfortunately for the bees, we had to use a chemical to remove them otherwise it would mean destroying all the walls of my living room to extract them. He also brought along a shop vac to clean up all the bees lounging on my chaise. The whole process took maybe 10-15 minutes and they were gone (from this world, sadly). In the following days and weeks, Jeff called me regularly to check up on the status to see if any vengeful bees returned. They did not. This company never came when they said they would, nor did they inform the manager when they did decide to show up. After their initial visit, they came back to spray the bee hive and left a blue rag on the ground. They said they would return in 2 to 3 days to remove the honeycomb and extract the bees. It's been almost a week when they returned. We also asked them to be careful with the plants in the area and if they needed to move them, please move them back. This guy did neither. He moved a table with plants and didn't return it as requested. He also knocked off several leaves to a lemon tree by throwing a piece of wood on it. He moved his blue rag that was previously left to another part of the ground instead of throwing it away. This post is referencing the lack of respect for the property, unreliability, and lack of communication from this company. I'm really disappointed in this firm. They advertise live bee removal however I called about a swarm that had come to our home last Monday. The woman who answered the phone said that we probably didn't have a hive and should call an exterminator to come smoke them out and kill them. As I didn't want to kill the bees I thanked her and hung up but i was angry at the suggestion. Today AA Beekeeper came and opened the roof to discover between 5000 and 7000 bees busily building their hive. A photo of the wax they've built is attached. I discovered a swarm had decided to set up their new home under my shed. I called Bee Best and was told that they wouldn't be able to do a live removal and would need to do an elimination instead. I got the name of a beekeeper from a friend, who showed up and safely removed these live bees and took them to join the other hives he owns to produce honey and pollinate crops. read more

I had a bee infestation inside a commercial building, Bee Best Bee quoted a 4-hour response time but actually showed up in about 20 minutes. They removed all of the external bees that they could find and gave a 30-day warranty on their work, unfortunately they missed the queen so the hive reformed. The commercial space was locked so it was very difficult to ensure that the entire problem was solved. They came back out the very next day (when we were actually able to open the building) and quickly removed the interior infestation. No problems since! Amazing response time, good price for the service, and true to their warranty they did not charge for the 2nd visit to finish the job. Great company, very helpful and courteous. Barbara explained that the outcome for my job was surprising and definitely not in line with the goals of the company. She promised to investigate further with the technician on why the course of action that I reported was the only option. I am very very pleased with the services of this company. I had bees coming in through my chimney all of a sudden today.. my 5 yr old pointed them out to me. Heard a lot of buzzing in the tree in my backyard, and saw a LOT of bees. Got scared (you would too, admit it). I called and Jeff came out within an hour or so. He let me know that my tree is feeding a lot of bees right now because the tree is in summer bloom, but there is no swarm or hive in the tree; just a lot of happy bees.
