A jewel just off the interstate, particularly known for breakfast but I love the lunch too. My patty melt was superb, crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside, with the onions cooked perfectly. Not far behind was the generous side of fried okra. Much much better than most chain competitors. The service is attentive even it is busy but everything is cooked to order so don't be in a rush. I love the job that did in converting an old gas station along US 41 into this store, which does sell some items but believe me the food comes first. Cutest little restaurant in downtown nowhere. Smack dab in the middle of the counrty with beautiful views of lush green pastures. Country decorations make the restraunrant with warm and inviting and the staff are so sweet and friendly. The biscuits are wonderful. I got the tenderloin biscuit and added a slice of tomato, swiss cheese, and an egg. I wish I would have tried the gravy. I added a little Louisiana hot sauce to the biscuit and I was very pleased with the taste. Great country hospitality. Loved the experience. read more

I visited this country store during their harvest festival. They had a bounce house, hay rides, face painting, corn hole, and other classic games for the community. My girlfriend and I had burger baskets with tots, a sweet tea and a root beer. I had one of their Black Rifle Coffees (Manchester TN Based) from their fridges. They have lots of soft drink and coffee options. The BBQ is popular here from what we hear. I would have tried that, but they ran out of their smoked pork for the day. I will be back to get my BBQ fix. I hear they serve breakfast biscuits which are pretty popular for any commuters. They carry a selection of children's books, honey, candles, etc. The store has Cracker Barrel (antique decoration)feel without the crowd. You will not regret supporting this store. I'm writing to continue the praises of Beechgrove Country Store. Disheartening to see other reviews put down small town ambiance when it's part of the charm of not going to Waffle House. Read all the reviews about FOOD and they all say how wonderful it is and then mark the restaurant down in the same breath. Marking the restaurant down for not being at the restaurant when biscuits were being served seems a little pretentious. People noticed the confederate flags but totally missed the context as the restaurant is about a block from a large confederate cemetery that you drive by when exiting the interstate. Still a great restaurant that would rate even higher if the stars warranted the food that was served and the people that served it. read more

This place is a piece of home! As a child, I remember coming here with my grandfather. Back then, we probably bought nuts and bolts more than food, but it was a part of rhe community. Now, with big box hardware stores, this store no longer sells nuts and bolts. Instead, it provides a welcome, local place to get breakfast and lunch. The food is cooked to order and has always been fast and good. Keep up the great work. read more

The slightly misleading detail is that this "store" doesn't sell much packaged goods outside of Moon Pies and Tootsie Pops. Located in what feels like the middle of nowhere, this place has a touch of old world and small town aesthetic complete with local topography hand drawn in chalk on the walls. They have rustic wood booths with laminated menus and vintage license plates displayed across the dining room. This place is charming if you can look past the undertone of what I can only describe as small town ethics (old license plate with a confederate flag on it, lots of pro army/marines/thin blue line flags stapled into the ceiling.) We started with fried green tomatoes as an app that came with "yum yum" sauce. I'd only had either of these things once previously, and these were on point. For mains, my girlfriend got the patty melt with fried okra, and I got the country fried chicken with onion rings and tots. The patty melt was very rich and velvety, falling apart when we tried to pick it up. The fried okra was crispy and delicious. The country fried chicken was probably the most substantial and crispy that I've ever had, and the gravy was perfect. I'm assuming that the onion rings and tots are fried in the same oil all day because they both tasted like onion rings, which we weren't mad about. I wanted to try the biscuits since they claim to be the best in the south on their menu. Sadly, they were no longer serving breakfast by the time we got there at 11:30pm. Overall, it's not a bad meal if you're looking for comfort food. The untensils we were given were disposable plastic forks, and the plateware was foam, which made eating challenging. There was only one person serving and one person manning the kitchen, so patience is a virtue here. read more

This is definitely a small town "local" place but if you are every near here you need to stop by. The menu is small and limited but what they have, they do well. I have had the chicken and waffles, a cheeseburger and a couple of their breakfast selections. All were fantastic! The biscuits are the best I have ever had, light and fluffy. I found this place by accident while visiting another unrelated business in the area. Now whenever I will be remotely in the area I will plan a stop here. It's a family run business and it seems like they probably hire local high school kids. The service has always been polite and helpful. I heard about this place. Its off the highway in Beechgrove TN and maybe famous in the past. I stopped there for breakfast and it wasn't good. Bacon seems to be microwaved, too dry. The sausage patty was un-eatable. The place is cute. It has remarkable potential to be a landmark for breakfast spot; its supposely opens at 4:30 AM. This old country store is a wonderful little stop for lunch and drinks when in Beechgrove. Their 1/2" thick cut balogna and cheese sammiches are amazing, and don't pass up country fried steak and gravy! Not the best food I've ever had, but charming country store preserving how rural communities used to be with the old timers sitting around all day eating & solving the worlds problems.
