Beefalo Bob's does tailgating! I ordered the Variety menu with pit beef, ham, turkey and beef BBQ. And we got a baked ziti too. For the hot sides we chose macaroni and cheese, homemade baked beans and green beans. Also cole slaw and cucumber salad. Great for carnivores and vegetarians. More than 12 people stopped by our Ravens tailgate to eat AND there was food leftover for after the game. I was impressed with the REAL green beans, not some canned ones. Everybody loved the food and I got all the credit. (My secret: all I did was place the order and pick it up.) Went and got a couple pit beef sandwiches, haven't been in years. I know why; was the absolute worse sandwich I have ever Tried to eat. Yeah I said Tried. Both sandwiches were completely full of fat. This place used to be good - we would go there often. Previous to covid, we had gone and had a meh experience, but forgot. We went again today and it was a lot worse. The beef was very chewy and not tender, thick sliced, fatty with connective tissue (poorly cooked poor cuts of meat), and was overly smokey. Are they now getting lower quality meat to compensate for covid? The beef ends were just cubes of fatty grissely meat when they used to give you the actual tasty beef ends (you know the ones that are crispy, meaty and full of flavor). Finally they forgot the sauce for the overdone fried pickles and kinda had slight attitude. So yeah, I wasted a good amount of money (it was not cheap) that I did not have for food that was a serious let down. The stuff we could not eat is just sitting in the fridge now waiting for when the severe hunger hits that makes crap food palatable. Even the cat who loves pit beef would not eat this, which had us concerned. We will not go back. Save your money. read more

Placed a carry out order for full bar-b-q rib platter with French fries and Mac n' cheese. Ribs were dry with very little sauce and no extra sauce was provided in bag (or offered) . Pork was very bland. 2 of us ate maybe a 1/4 of rack..........the rest we dumped:( The French fries and mac n' cheese were great..................Would return for french fries and maybe to try pit beef.....................? We hold yearly events for our company and we always use Beefalo Bob's. Went in an hour before they closed. Ordered the pit beef sandwich and a fry. Came home to find two pulled pork sandwiches and fries. I called them to let them know they gave me the wrong order and they apologized and asked put me on a food credit list for the next day. I went to eat the pulled pork sandwiches but they were the worst thing I ever had. I went in today to get my free sandwich and I was told by the manager female that unless I brought back last night's sandwiches I would have to pay full price for the pit beef sandwiches that was clearly told they were at the wrong the night before. The manager was rude and had no customer service experience at all. This isn't a place you want to get your food for two reasons. Wrong food and terrible customer service. read more

When they say BEEF they are not kidding. Sandwhich is so stuffed you cant close it. Beef is cut so thin it melts in your mouth. The most enjoyable meal- grab a bunch of napkins too. Lots of juice. I'm updating the previous review. After hearing of my experience the owner Matt reached out and offered the opportunity for me to give their food a second chance. I accepted since I think we all deserve one. I'm happy to say that my first experience must've been a bad fluke. The ribs I got tonight were tender and the meat slid off the bone. The sauce was also flavorful and not tangy/sour. Since we got our sides this time, the mac n' cheese was mom and kid approved and the greens were nice and smoky. This review is for pit beef only. I ordered my beef rare, I expressed it twice. I ordered in the middle of the day, so it's not like they would be done cooking. I would say it was medium rare at best. The pit looked great, it would make me think the beef would have a stronger charcoal/smoke taste however it was lacking a bit. I ordered a regular sandwich with onions and bbq sauce. It could use more onions but that could be my fault for not saying extra/heavy onions. The bbq sauce was standard nothing special. Now the size of the sandwich seemed generous, again it was a regular size. It came out to 9 dollars total. It was overflowing, which was fantastic, and the meat was very tender. I have enjoyed this place much more when I have attended events they cater, but on this visit it was just ok. I would go back but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Date: Tuesday Forecast: RAiN 100 people: Expecting a BBQ in the parking lot Solution: Find 1,000 sq ft tent and get fire marshall approval Food: Beefalo Bob's After the tent was anchored and set up the night before, weighted down so the winds wouldn't blow it to Delaware, at mid morning, up rolls up Beefalo Bob's with a 10 ft BBQ smoker on wheels being towed by a truck and smoking like a son of a gun. They open up the smoker to check the BBQ and billows of smoke pours out.....nearly setting off all the fire alarms in a neighboring building. WHAT A GREAT SHOW!!! Just from that one incident, you could tell the party goers from the hand wringers. The marketing people loved it. The bean counters and administrators were worried about liability. Having a real trailer smoker with a burning hardwood fire is 1000% better than serving BBQ, beans and cole slaw in take out styrofoam containers. So how was the food? 1. BBQ pork ribs, St. Louis style: Meat easily pulled off the bone, not falling off. It had enough body to have a chew to it, but it cleanly pulled off the bone. Done nearly perfectly The silverskin was still attached. The sauce was on the sugary sweet side.....I prefer spicy, but this was cleary middle of the road for a large crowd sauce. 2. BBQ Turkey: Good and moist...nothing particulary special 3. BBQ Ham: Good and moist....again nothing special but middle of the road ham. 4. Steamed crabs: Average in quality.....had to be steamed before hand...some a little over done. to be expected for a large gathering 5. Cole slaw: Good, what you would expect at a picnic. OVERALL: 4 stars because there is nothing like a smoker filling the air with burning hardwood, meat being carved right off the BBQ, steamed crab with Old Bay staining everything in sight.....and the anticipation of every smoke alarm going off within a city block..... read more

I always look forward to when my wife's job brings her through the Pasadena, MD area. This is because Pasadena is home to Beefalo Bob's and I can always count on her bringing home pit beef and pit turkey sandwiches for dinner. The turkey and the beef are great and have that nice smoky bbq taste. The bbq sauce comes on the side and is sweet and thick with a little bite of spice in it. I prefer a spicier sauce, but this sauce is pretty good. I found a solution to this though by just mixing some of their sauce with my favorite spicy bbq sauce at home. Problem solved! Usually one of the first things my wife says after making a stop at Beefalo Bob's is "Geez those people are so nice. They are always so appreciative of my business.". Beefalo Bob's also catered my father-in-law's 50th birthday party last year and they did an excellent job and provided great food. Like most places that serve barbecue, there seems to be a strong variety of opinions about Beefalo Bob's. Never having a pit beef sandwich before, I had always eyed Beefalo Bob's when visiting my friend in the Pasadena area. His work had him a bit delayed last night, so I had the chance to try it out. When I caught up with him at a local bar later that evening and mentioned I tried this for the first time and asked him his opinion, he quickly said "they suck", then backtracked and asked what location. He quantified by saying the take-out location (reviewed here) is "decent" but avoid the restaurant on Ft. Smallwood road. That's the opinion of a local, but this is my review, right? And my verdict, never having pit beef before, is a thumbs up. The location here is a straight-up hole-in-the-wall take-out spot. There's not even a place to sit an eat. And that's OK, but it is a bit dingy inside. The service behind the counter was courteous and helpful, asking multiple times if I needed extra sauces. I ordered the large pit beef and she asked me how I wanted it cooked ... didn't know that was an option, so I went with med rare, with lettuce, tomato, and tiger sauce - a Baltimore pit beef staple that is a mayo/horseradish mix - with an extra side of tiger sauce. For medium rare, there wasn't much pink in the beef - a disappointment - but there was a nice juiciness and subtle and gentle smoke flavor. (I hate it when the smokiness overpowers the meat) The condiments blended nicely, and the tiger sauce does a great job of accentuating the beef. The bun was rather pedestrian, but the generous portion of well-cooked beef was clearly the star. It wasn't a sandwich that initially blew me away, but later in the night I kept thinking about it and craving the slightly smoky flavor of the meat. And when I crave something after just eating it, that's my sign that I have a winner. They have selections of other smoked/BBQ meats and I'd like to try others, but my instinct is that the pit beef is the king at Beefalo Bob's. I will be back. read more

I drove past this place a couple of times while running errands in the Dena. The food is pretty solid and the pricing is right. Be forewarned - there is no seating and the line was pretty deep when I got there. But even with a long wait and no place to eat, the food will keep them in business for a long time. I grabbed a pit beef sandwich and some fries (and a soda out of the machine, which was weird as it was a separate transaction). The XL Pit Beef was a hearty meal and the fries were clearly hand cut and delicious. Overall the food was very good BBQ and I eat a lot of BBQ. However, it would have been 5-stars, but the place is challenged in appearances, ventliation and upkeep. The smoker - inside the kitchen - is poorly ventilated and I had to drive home with the windows open. Ceiling tiles are falling in, and no one cares (because if they fix/replace them I am sure it will mean that they will only get filthy again from the smoke. And frankly buying soda from the machine is nonsense. They really need a simple cooler with doors on it so you can get a decent selection. Overall a good meal and I will be eating there again, but I will plan to take it home instead of eating it in the car. read more

It's definitely one of my very FAVORITE places in Glen Burnie/Pasadena Please remember when going into this place that it's a carryout and it's a full of pit smokers for the the meats,,, It's my favorite little (what I deem Dive Carryout) that is not derogatory in anyway I love small places that are quaint and have great food... Which leads me to the food, I so love their food, especially the pit beef, turkey and ham, I like their salads the potato salad is tasty (my opinion of course), though I am very, very picky about my crab soup - their's is very watery and way too spicy for everyone's taste. The baked beans at times can be dry if left too long in the warmer, but if you get them when they are fresh then you have yourself some awesome baked beans. And the fries are always fried fresh, you have three sizes to choose from and they are always great...Just a word to the wise, you will don't be disappointed with the size of the sandwiches...my mother LOVES the bar-be-que chicken sandwich...and the bar-be-que pork is just as wonderful... All the employees are very kind and friendly, which makes a difference in first impressions. All in all I say go and I guarantee that you will return !!!!! read more

What a great company! I found them on-line and called. Michelle was such a wonderful person to speak with from the beginning. She answered all of my questions and trust me I had a lot and spoke with me via email and phone often. I was planning a retirement BBQ party and casino night for my husband. Beefalo Bob's handled EVERYTHING! From tent rental with lights and fans, to the on-site bartenders to servers to clean-up to cooking the most delicious BBQ!! It was wonderful! I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE this place my hubby would stop here at once a week and several large sandwiches and fries but over the last 5 or 6 months THE QUALITY HAS NOSEDIVED straight into the GUTTER!!! The Pulled Chicken and Pulled Pork are usually so OVER COOKED and DRIED OUT that they are UNEDIBLE!!! Another reviewer mentioned the dried up fries and we have also been having that problem for the last couple of months. Overworked, under-staffed, burnt fries. First, let me say that during the Covid virus shut in makes their work even harder than ever. However, this is a carry out-only restaurant portion of the business that they have been running for many, many years. I expected better experience. Customers were very respectful and waited patiently inside and outside to pick up phoned orders and place orders at the counter. For the first time, our sandwiches were just okay--not nearly as good as the previous carry out from our last visits. Biggest issue was the burnt fries. Totally inedible. I ordered the open face beef that automatically comes with fries as the only side dish. Our other sandwich platter included fries as the side dish. The sandwich was good but we had to microwave both to get them hot again. Neither meal was worth the $11 and $12 price. We won't be back again for a long time...sad to say. Quite unhappy but I gave a 3 star because it is a difficult time to run any business right now. But frustrated that it wasn't a good experience for the money we paid. read more

Was recommended by a friend...went there & the heat in the building was off the chain...how in the world can u eat when it feels like 100* inside...so we decided to take it to go....I got the sliced beef sandwich w/o a bun..meat was tender...coleslaw was very good however lacked in salt & pepper...a medium fountain drink is $2...also got 1/2 rack of ribs which were tasty but no smokey flavor considering how much smoke is coming off the smoker....would I back again...hmmm maybe....we did get there around 3pm so maybe around 11am the food would be a tad better read more
