The food was pretty good. The play area for the kids needs work.

My wife, adult son, three grandchildren and I all stopped by fora late lunch. The kids are 3,3, and 7. We asked about the kids meal and if they had plain milk for the kids. We were told that they carry both chocolate and plain but were out and would not be getting any for another three days. We ordered kids meals and gave them water and passed on the drink. No mention of a discount for not getting the drink was offered. My wife then ordered one of the salads and was told they were out of walnuts which is supposed to be in the salad. Again, no offer to substitute anything was offered so she ordered a kids meal for herself. I asked for a taco salad and told them I wanted lots of salsa on it. In fact I told them to "float" the salad in the sauce. When the order was placed the counter person spun the screen around and asked me how much tip I was going to pay. It shocked me as I watched the kitchen staff look at me from behind her shoulder (we were the only ones ordering at the time). I thought it was poor form but added 15% to the check which worked out to be about $5.00. When we got to the drink area, half of the flavors were not working. When I got my salad there was NO sauce and I had to walk it back to the counter, which is where my son went to pick it up. I asked for the sauce and you would think I had asked for someone's first born. I got it and went back to my seat wondering what the tip was for as this is a total self service operation. My grandson wanted to use the restroom. I took him. The overhead light was burned out and it reminded me of walking into a cave. But some other lights over the sink were on. There was no toilet paper to be found other than the scraps which were on the floor. I mentioned this to the person who collected my tip and for the next 45 minutes (we let the kids play outside for a bit) that situation did not change. My son wanted to get an order of fried mushrooms and a drink. The same counter person spun the screen around asking "how much tip do you want to leave?" The NFL championship game was playing but was not on any of their in house T. V.s the broadcast was both over the air and on cable. I asked if we could tune one of the sets to the station and was told there was no remote control available to do so. The other table in the restaurant wanted to make the switch too, but again they were told their request was refused. The salad was GREAT, the burger was poor, the mushrooms were OKAY, the drinks were alright if you got one of the flavors in stock. The fixin (burger topper station) was picked over. The dining room was clean and parking was available. I have been there four or five times before and was not impressed, but this time, (the tip screen was new to me on this visit) will be my last time to go there. read more

Great place for the family. The fried pickles were a little on the salty side but the burger was really good.

Very cool place and awesome drinks, staff was very friendly. We ordered the atomic burger and loved it but wish it had lettuce and tomato's on it. We started with a fried pickle basket and it was more than enough for the table...pickles for days! read more

I'm having an ice cream! We didn't eat any food, but I saw a basket of cheese sticks that were as big as corn dogs.

Had take out several times in the last year. Each time it was the chicken-fried steak or the chicken-fried chicken. Really good take-out meals, actually. The plate comes with a decent-sized steak, toast, salad, and fries. Weird note, though, they serve no potatoes of any sort other than french fries! No mashed taters, no nuttin. By the time you get the plate home the fries are all soggy and nasty. I can't believe they won't make either baked potatoes or mashed! The interior of the restaurant always seems clean and is modern and friendly. Seems to be a good joint. read more

Was just okay. Kids chicken tenders are the cheap Dino frozen tenders. Kids corn dogs were pretty tasty. 2 kids and 2 adults ate for $30.

I really wanted to like this place but the food just isn't that good. Four of us went there for burgers for lunch and were not impressed. The place is large and is family friendly with a play area. The burger topping bar is a nice touch. Also, it looks like they have a full bar with happy hour drink specials. Burgers are from $5-$7, not including fries. We ordered four burgers, a basket of french fries, and a basket of onion rings (burgers dont come with fries). Onion rings - basic cheap frozen type you can get from grocery store. French Fries - the same, cheap frozen type and very bland. no extra salt or seasoning. Burgers - meat was ok, but not seasoned well. The buns were horrible.. just super cheap bread that was almost sweat. It might had helped a little if they would toast the bun. (actually I was very surprised the bun wasn't toasted). I can't comment on the other menu items.. but from what we had and what I saw others eating.. looks like you can raid the frozen food section at HEB and buy everything to do this yourself at home. It is disappointing when a place that features burgers (a third of the menu) can't come close to doing them right. But maybe since they have a full bar they think people wont notice the sub-par food. read more

Stopped on our wildflower outing. Service was fast and efficient. Beefy BBQ burger and 1/3 lb Classic meals were very generous in size and quite tasty. Fried pickles were a new treat to us. Liked the dress your own burger bar. We'd stop here again when traveling through. read more

This was my first visit to Beefys, Right in front of me the cook dropped my food on the floor and picked it back up and try to serve it to me, there were two cooks, and they started to laugh, they didn't even apologize,not even the two ladies in the front,I just got my money back and went somewhere else, I will never come here or never recommend this place to anybody. read more

This is way better than the other Beefy's backyard. The place is really nice. The kids are only outside and have not taken over the whole restaurant. The food is given to you in a timely manner. The tables are usually clean. The food is average. You won't die of it but it isn't exactly high quality but it's pretty good. read more

This place is for your guilty pleasures! If you want a great burger, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, patty melt then this is the place to be. Everything is great here, the atmosphere is peaceful and there's even a play area for the kids. read more

Beefy's has been around since 2008. Went at lunchtime and they had lots of business. Today I had their patty melt, which was pretty good. I saw that it came on Texas toast instead of rye, but decided to go ahead and try it. I still like the rye bread version best, but the whole sandwich was done right. I noticed that every single person except for myself, was having one of their burgers. So next time, that's what I'll try. read more

Never great. Sometimes OK. If it says grilled jalapeño on your burger don't believe them. I asked before I ordered and they said yes, grilled. NOT. They were pickled and the burger looked sad. I cancelled the burger and ordered a Cobb salad instead (what I was gonna order originally if the jalapeños were pickled). 15 minutes later I am ready to cancel because it's still not ready. They said they were sorry, they were busy. So I guess the menu changes when they get busy. We won't be going back. read more

Monday night ,03/24/14,had a bad experience... After giving my order and paying for my food and adding a 3.00 tip,I realized,the girl taking orders at the counter was rude and sullen. I thought they forgot my drink order and was told by the same girl that she had not told anyone to fix it yet and there were customers waiting behind me. So basically get out of the way . Later I asked if they had change for the game machines. She said no they could not give change. I told her the change machine was not working and she said there was nothing she could do. I asked for the manager. He came out from cooking and said he had no change either. I told the manger that the girl had been rude. he just looked at me. Later he brought a dollars worth of quarters "on the house". I noticed the public garbage can was over flowing, the area around the lettuce and tomatoes was cluttered with dirty forks and spilt food. No one was busing the tables. My son said some of the game machines were not working. I remembered the last time we were there the change machine was not working. They were not crowded, lots of empty tables. I hate to see this place decline. We don't have many places to eat out this way. It is not a cheap place to eat. It will be awhile before we think about going back. read more
