We have passed Beer Church Brewing several times while in New Buffalo and we finally stopped in, but I doubt we will be back. It is located in a church, but they did not capitalize on the history of the church or the architecture, even though the original stained glass is beautiful. We sat inside due to weather. They do have a beer garden, and state it is the largest in Michigan. It was not crowded, yet we had to grab menus from the hostess stand after waiting for a bit. They have an extensive drink menu . I tried their homemade seltzer and could not drink it . It tasted bitter, fortunately it was a 5 ounce. My husband trued the Peach Be With You ! They serve food, but are known for pizza. There is a massive brick oven where the church altar used to stand . They also serve ice cream at the end of the bar.

What a great experience over our last experience a few weeks ago. We had service by Kendall that was five stars and attention by Meghan the manager who heard about our last experience. The food was excellent and presented like it was to be photographed. The meatball appetizer was a fantastic start and paired well with our beers. Sandwiches were excellent and delicious. This is worth a stop if traveling on I-94 or while visiting the area. Super stop!!

We were searching for something open later on a random Monday night and this place popped up. Our bartender/server Emily was awesome! I enjoyed a beer flight and pizza. Everything was delicious so I took home a mason jar key lime dessert for later. We sampled gelato which was good but we didn't have room for more. The beers were each unique and the theme of the beer church is used very well. We had to buy some merchandise to take home as well.

Came over the long Holiday weekend. The building stands out when you're cruising around town. Had one beer because I'm a big stout fan and only spotted one stout on the menu. Got the cardinal cuppa. It has big coffee flavor without being overpowering. Enjoyed this beer. Was surprised they did cocktails as well. Would certainly visit again.

Fun place! This is a fun sports bar place and has lots of charm. We chose a lobster pizza, it was ok but the meat was very finely chopped like it was from a can. We sat outside in the evening enjoying our drinks and pizza but I wore shorts and my legs are very bug bitten.

This is our second time at Beer Church Brewing and both experiences were excellent. The food was so fresh and tasted great. We were pleasantly surprised by that for a random Wednesday afternoon. I do think the prices for a salad or sandwich are a little high, around $22, but at the same time the ingredients tasted quality. The beer flight comes on a cross so that's a nice touch for the venue. The servers were quick and attentive and great with our kids. Looking forward to coming back!

My favorite brewery in New Buffalo. They have a wide variety of microbrews along with an extensive drink menu. Their food is also fantastic. The salads and pizza are my favorite. The staff is very friendly and the vibe is upbeat and playful.

Super unique and what a great idea. They have lots of their own craft beers to taste and enjoy. Lots of outdoor seating with fans and umbrellas if it's hot. It's just that the food we ordered was ok, not great. The wings were really fatty and the flatbread was alright. My menu was caked with some nasty sticky substance that left the pages disgusting. The service was awesome! We loved our waitress.

I was excited to experience Beer Church the minute I learned about it, and we had that opportunity this past Labor Day weekend. My expectations were high and, despite a few delays due to a hectic dinner rush, the visit did not disappoint. My wife and I sat on the patio to enjoy the nice, mild weather, but I wouldn't mind sitting grabbing a seat inside to fully take in the decor on a future visit. The "Hymnal" pages are chaotic and overwhelming in the best way, with a wide variety of beer, cocktail and food options. I ordered the "cross flight" to sample 5 brews - each selection was distinct and flavorful, and I would most recommend Crooked Cross Cream Ale and Lime of God Lime Lager. I regret to say we did not try any of the pizzas (another reason I'll have to return), but our food was still delicious. The Communion Bread made for a satisfying appetizer with whipped butter, the Cobb Salad (It's Cobblicated) is always a reliable go-to when a menu offers so many intriguing options, and the Wood Fire Italiano was the best of all three. As a five hour drive, it'll probably be a bit before we have a chance to stop by again - if your trip is shorter, I would absolutely take advantage while Beer Church is in service.

Love the outdoor dining. Server Kelly was an absolute pleasure! Food was delicious, hot and everyone at the table loved their orders. Next time we are in town...I will be back!

What a fun place! My friends and I came here for a few drinks on a night out. The staff was very friendly, the drinks were reasonably priced & tasty, and the music was great. I'd recommend going to the top patio. According to the beer drinkers in my crew, Beer Church truly delivers a divine pint--amen to that! Shoutout to the bartender for whipping up some celebrity shots for my friends and I! BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE GIFT SHOP!

Beer Church is fantastic spot in New Buffalo! We loved the outdoor patio which was comfortable on a very hot 90degree day. The beer selection is okay with a few options but focusing more on their sours now. Particularly impressed with their juicy IPA. The real highlight of this place is their food! The pizza crust is perfectly smoky, chewy, and crispy all at the same time. The communal bread is great app too. Overall, beer church has great atmosphere, g great staff, great food, and great times. Sorry no pics of food

Meatball subs was absolutely excellent! The bread is amazing, and the meatballs are homemade. The wings were very meaty, but the seasoning was great. The bigger ones were very fatty and could have cooked longer. Gotta get their house made ranch, and the Hot Honey was good though not hot at all.

Ask the Community - Beer Church Brewing

Do they do take out of their pizzas?

    Yes, take out is available!

Are the igloos open in the rain?

Yes, but they're only available in the winter

Is there food served there at the brewery?

The brewery advertises its wood-fired pizzas. I saw plenty being made while I was there four days ago.

    Are kids allowed?

When I was there, I did see plenty of kids in there.

What's the delay on completing the construction? Will it ever be done? The only time I want to sit in a vestibule is when I want to dart out of mass early.

Beer Garden done in 6 weeks, the rest by Fall. Sorry for the inconvenience, there have been many construction challenges in saving this iconic building from 1861.

Is the outdoor area pet friendly?

    No!

We're from the Grand Rapids area, so it was a bit of a trek being about an hour and a half away. GR has plenty of karaoke options in the surrounding area and a ton of breweries - none that I'm aware of mix the two, nor have anything as unique as this. Seeing as it was our first time here, we didn't know what to expect. It was pretty packed, actually pretty hard to find seating. Thankfully, we were eventually able to get a spot near the stage. One thing to note is that they don't serve food; however there's usually a food truck onsite, so that's nice, if you happen to like the type of food on that particular day. The place was pretty packed, of course it was a Saturday, so wasn't a big surprise. Unfortunately, a few of the adult beverages were unavailable, apparently due to the 10-year anniversary the day before. I first tried the dark bodega Mexican lager, it was good, but not really what I was in the mood for. So, I decided to try something a little different, I'm glad I did. I went with the peanut butter & jelly ale, wow, I was really impressed! I ended up sticking to the PB&J's for the rest of the night. A couple of others in my party, who normally don't like ales, tried the PB&j and thought it was great. All in all, it was a great experience. The karaoke was a blast, some absolutely incredible singers. And I've never seen a crowd so engaged, the place was full of energy, so I'm sure that added to the overall positive experience. If Watermark wasn't so far away, it would definitely be a regular visit for us. We missed the last crowd elimination karaoke event in June, but are planning to make a return trip for the next one in July!
