Stopped by to check it out. Ordered a Lumberjack Cider that lacked in substance and taste. Service was pedestrian and had to chase down my server who was preoccupied with another table. The atmosphere was warm, and inviting, and the space was big enough to have 2 bars. TV's abound and sports and other programs are available upon request. The parking lot is big enough to find a comfortable spot. They have an array of interesting food items on the menu, so will return to try some of them out. read more

Pretty Decent food! Pizza was a little doughy but the flavors were good! It's a pepperoni pizza :) The pizza included 4 larger slices. They were very generous with the fish! Sandwich was packed with fish! Great choice! Comes with a side of coslaw which is great so it doesn't make that crispy fish soggy as you enjoy it at home (take out ). Ordered the rapid bang bang fries- didn't expect so much food! They filled that box up! They forgot the feta but I didn't mind. The cheese is a blend so don't expect liquid cheese! They also put fresh jalapeños no pickled ones. The bang bang sauce is okay, too sweet for my liking. I suggest getting it on the side if you prefer a more savory dish with a every so often balance of sweet. read more

Food was ok, My daughter said her chicken fettucine was bland. the fries tonight were soggy. Service was excellant the last two times we have been. Also, we sat alongside the white wall in the booths. The wall was dirty and the table was not very clean. A great family history and story Stefan has to share with a wonderful staff and excellent service along with a clean and hip atmosphere and to top it all off wonderful food and a great beer and spirits selection. Have always wanted to try it. Being close to Calvin University, a very walkable distance. We were looking at an hour wait on a weekend night, and the place was definitely busier than I thought. Food took a little slow, but it was even better than I thought. The pizza that I ordered was listed number one pizza in Michigan. I get why. Went back today for the first time since my first review. Thought I was being smart by ordering a lunch pizza, since my friend enjoyed hers on the last visit. The service and atmosphere were great! The food not, but everyone else's food looked great. Just don't order the chicken Ceasar salad. It was so weird. It had no taste whatsoever. I had other people at my table try, and they said the same thing. The only taste was the bitter taste of the greens. After I took it back, the waitress was very apologetic and said that a lot of people tell her that. My advice, get some seasoning on that chicken and some tasteful dressing. OMG - went to test out the Beer City Bread Company tonight. A-MAZ-ING food. The prices were very reasonable (we were there for happy hour) and the portions were very generous. Amazing pretzel bites, bruschetta and dips for appetizers. The grainy mustard for the pretzels was unbelieveably smooth and tasty. Mom enjoyed the flavor of her French Dip sandwich. My pulled pork green chili nachos were superlative. No sharing Mom's creme brule (she said it was too good to share) and I enjoyed part of the warm Whiskey Carmel Business cake with walnuts (too full for the ice cream and full slice - but happy to take it to go). Our server Joselyn was on top of it all and very friendly! Prior to our departure we enjoyed some live music too. Totally enjoyable dinner. read more

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of shopping around 2:30 pm. They've recently began opening at 2 on Saturday's. They have a great bar area with plentiful tv's and smart casual seating throughout with garage doors that can open to the outside or enlarge seating areas. An ample beer list , great cocktail options and hearty appetizers we were excited with the menu variety . My wife had the buffalo chicken pizza and was not disappointed. Very wonderful garlic flavored crust ... very tasty with a kick from the franks red hot . My daughter had the shrimp Alfredo and was raving over it . She's an aficionado of Alfredo and was smiling . I had the chopped salad and added blackened mahi-mahi. What a great option for a salad add, though the blackened seasoning could use more heat. We can't wait until more locations open in the other old Arnies around town like Leonard and Rockford..... let's get moving on those remodels! read more

Got pickup several times over a couple of months. Wish they'd get delivery as they keep saying they are. We've had several different items from their shrimp and perch to their various chicken dishes. All were quite good without exception. Also enjoy the riviera salad both as a side and whole portion for lunch. It's the same as it was when they were Arnies. Went there for a work party, maybe it was the "group service" but most of the food served was not good. Mango Chunks does not equal Mango Salsa and the fries with the shrimp were awful - not fresh at all. For a restaurant like this I want real potatoes as well not instant. We tried to get a seat on the patio and was brought to a table instead. So we asked AGAIN for a seat on the patio. The host apologized and said the gentleman never told him we wanted the patio. Then we get a patio seat. No one ever came back out to provide service. When we left the other guests sitting on the patio, actually apologized. This probably deserves 5 stars because we loved the ambience and wait staff and the pizza wanted to be excellent. It was good and we loved the unusual options. The loss of one star was that it was a little over cooked on the bottom and had a slightly burned flavor plus the goat cheese and fig pizza was more like they waved the goat cheese over it instead of having it as a topping. Went here for lunch Saturday at noon. They were busy but still had seating for us. I had a beer called Gold which was very good. A light lager. For lunch I had a Hot Honey Jalepeno Chicken Sandwich. Ordered a carry out. The hostess was extremely rude, she starred me down waiting for me to speak, and waited then pointed to the take out sign and said "can't you read." The food was sitting on the bar, near customers, getting cold, not even packaged in a bag, I requested cutlery, which they did not give me, no napkins either. The food was lukewarm at most. We got back to our hotel room. Since we're traveling, and got cutlery from the hotel. Though the food wasn't even hot, it tasted pretty good which is why I gave them an extra star. The hostess treatment was beyond rude and belittling. This restaurant needs a better carry out process and better management of their employees because it clearly is lacking if the hostess and take out process is this awful. read more

This place looks great with a ton a space both inside and outside and we had great, attentive service. Had high hopes for the food but the food was just Meh. We ordered the nachos and the chips were soggy within a few minutes of arriving at our table. We also tried the truffle fries and they were super greasy. Not a great experience here. I ordered the flash fried shrimp appetizer with the bang bang sauce and cocktail sauce. The shrimp were ok, but I was alarmed by the sauce, it was gross and had a thin film of watery grossness on top that was dripping off. It looked horrible. The cocktail sauce was a bit lifeless and served in a small plastic container. I felt like I was at a diner. The service was a bit slow but at least our waitress was pleasant. But not attentive. We ordered ice tea and we're not offered refills. For dinner I ordered the Caesar salad with bear city croutons and Parmesan with blackened mahi mahi. I could find only a spec or two of Parmesan and there were no croutons (my favorite part of any Caesar salad.). I could not find our waitress and finally flagged another staff member to help bring out those beloved croutons! But oh my, the croutons were great but the fish was terrible. It smelled bad. Super fishy. It had no flavor at all and the texture was just blah. It needed salt or pepper or both but that wasn't available at our table. I tried to press on but could not finish. The lettuce was chopped nicely, the amount of dressing was respectable but the flavor of the dressing was sub par. The worst part is now I'm sick. Stomach cramps all night with many stops in the bathroom feeling terrible. Ugh. Here are some photos.
