Some friends and I decided to eat at Beerhead yesterday before going to the movie theater next door. Two out of three of us made it first and the third person showed up about 20-30 minutes later. The first issue we had was with our chicken bites. We asked if we could get them tossed in two different sauces and the server's response was "yes". Next thing I know, our food starts to come out and our sauces are on the side. So I mentioned that we told our server we wanted them tossed in the sauce. He paused and then took them back. Our server for the night then brought back the same chicken, still not tossed. He told us that the cooks said they can only toss this in one sauce. So I took one of the sauces and asked him to toss it in the one sauce then. So our other friend arrives and orders more chicken bites and parm fries. His chicken comes out and then the server tells us that someone else picked up his fries and that the cooks were not going to push through another order of fries. So my friend was nice about it and said it was ok since our server said it'd be over an hour to get a batch of fries! I tried ordering a cookie skillet. After several minutes went by, the server came back and asked if we were ready for our bill. I asked about the cookie skillet and his reply was, "oh yeah, the cook won't make" and said how the cook has cussed him out already. I've never been to a restaurant where the cook refuses to make food for guests patronizing their establishment. The service I received was absolutely mediocre. We should've gone to Black Rock as we planned to. Never again will my friends I revisit that place. read more

This place was awesome! My mother and I went and there was a live band, all of the servers were super nice and extremely helpful, and our food was delicious! We split the brisket grilled cheese with the potato salad and both were excellent. We also got a carafe of the red sangria and it was perfect! Not too painfully sweet like how some places make it. Walked in at 9:55, was told we had 5 minutes to order because the kitchen was closing, and we had till 11 to eat, no problem. We both ordered. When we get the food. We only get one meal, because the waitress had forgot to put one of our meals. She apologized and told us the kitchen was cleaning up and was too late to put another one in. wtf. So we said okay well just split the one meal, i didnt wanna cause a scene at that point. Two minutes later im taking a sip of my beer and i felt something sharp in my mouth from my beer. A piece of glass. About an inch or inch and half long. The "manager" comes over to apologize and says she hopes we giver them another chance. I said that we would not after tonight's experience. Her response was "well to each their own" why is a B**** like that running a restaurant, and working in costumer service. So I've been here twice. Once for brunch which was actually pretty good. The breakfast pizza is good, a little dry though . Mimosas we probably the best part. We came a week later for some early dinner.... complete disappointment. The Tot Nachos looked so good online. NOPE. First it can hit smoking hot which you think was a good thing. The tots weren't cooked all the way, way too mushy. Too much sauce. Then the chicken was frozen store bought chicken. For $13!! Wow. The humans plate was good, would have preferred the break to be warm but I'm sure you could request it. Overall for the amount paid, this place may just be for beer and pizza on a late night. Came here on a whim hoping they would have a table open on a Saturday around 7 and boy did we luck out! The place was pretty full, it's a mix of high tops and low tops which is nice, even for larger parties! Our party of 4 were quickly greeted and asked if we have ever been before, which we haven't so our server gave us the run down! I really wished I remember her name because she was an awesome server, the receipt doesn't show it on there either. Absolutely extensive beer menu and they even have their own speciality stuff brewed just for BeerHead which i thought was really cool! Tried the odd side hoplicated as well as a midland she blinded slushy beer, both hit the spot! Now on to the food, the menu for food is pretty short good variety and interesting pizzas. We decided to order the pork belly Mac and cheese, giant pretzel, totchos (loaded tots), and a margarita pizza. The pretzel was my favorite, feeds four and for how big is was it was still really soft and the sauces to with it were a perfect match! Beer cheese and hot mustard are the way to go. The pizza was good nothing over the top. The Mac and cheese was pretty dry, and not much pork belly in there. The pork belly that was in it had a weird consistency. The totchos are a HARD NO. The menu said grilled chicken on top or chili, so I picked GRILLED chicken and got boiled chicken with sear marks??? I had everyone at the table confirm it too just really weird never experience that with loaded anything in my life. I didn't want to send it back our server was swamped with us, 2 larger parties, and another 2 top while another server in the area named Tobias sat with his friends the whole hour and half we were there and didn't help her what so ever. It's a busy Saturday there was no way his shift was over or anything of the sorts, just straight up lazy and shame on management for letting that happen. Despite how slammed this girl was she kicked ass and made sure we were taken care of just wish she wasn't spread so thin, not fair man. Would like to come back and try maybe earlier in the day on Saturday or Sunday and see what they are about. Def want to explore more of the specialty brews! read more

As bad a restaurant experience I've had in recent memory. Maybe this is a good place to go for beer - but warning - don't go for food. I knew we were in trouble when we ordered the queso. It came with those yellow round chips that are the cheapest you can find at a grocery store. How about some homemade chips? Or if your cooks are that incapable, at least some better quality store chips? They threw a pico on the side with corn and the cheese on the other. Weird. But queso was decent at least, even if the chips ruined it. Server out to lunch. Not even sure if he normally works there. Just wearing a gray shirt, no branding of the restaurant or uniform, odd. Constantly just stood at the line waiting for food. Nice guy, But again, seemed ill prepared for the job. We split a pizza for the meal. Pizza came back with completely raw dough. Never had that happen before. We each took a bite and were like whhhhhhat. Sent it back. Figured they prob would just make a new pizza. Instead they took our old pizza and cooked it more, used slices and all. So it came back nice and dark brown with burnt cheese and all. No flavor. I could wait to get out of there. There's a reason every time we go here for a movie on a weekend night and buddy's pizza is packed and you have to wait for an hour, and this place has half the restaurant empty with 0 wait. In any case...We came during happy hour and it was surprisingly good. The service was good, the food was good, and the beer was good. Was it amazing? No. One gripe would be their nachos -- I don't know what kind of tortilla chips they use but it tasted a little off and cheap. You could get a better bag at the store. Came here for dinner after a movie. We wanted something close to the theater because it was raining and beer sounded good so we came here. We were instantly impressed with their beer menu. It was extensive and had some really great options. The inside of the restaurant is appealing too: it's very large and open with so many televisions to watch sports. I also loved their decor, which I think adds to the beer bar feel. The staff were so friendly and our waitress was great. I got the BLT wrap with potato salad and my husband got the grilled cheese with tots. The food was average. It wasn't anything I couldn't find elsewhere. The tots were a little disappointing in my opinion, they tasted as if they were previously frozen and just needed a few more minutes to fry. The potato salad was really good and a unique recipe for potato salad (it was like a deconstructed loaded baked potato). Overall, I'd come back for the drinks and maybe an appetizer to watch a football game but not if I was looking for a delicious meal. read more

All I can say is amazing! I hosted a 41 person retirement party here. Cameron was unbelievably accommodating giving us our own area in the restaurant and helping choose the food. I could barely hear her because the amount of noise in that place is absolutely awful. This place was embarrassing on a Wednesday night. Upon entry we were greeted by a lovely bartender who notified us regrettably the kitchen was on about a 45 minute wait. Cool, no biggie. Upon ordering a turkey sandwich and bacon cheeseburger it took me and my wife an hour and a half before we asked to be dismissed from endless waiting. The restaurant was 30% full. The bartender brought us our food ticket upon our request. 1 hour and 50 minutes after the ticket printed in the kitchen still no food. The manager, who was found fumbling and bumbling his way around the place was found outside enjoying a cigarette when we handed him the meal ticket and explained its lack of leadership leading to this type of delay, not staffing. A truly regrettable experience, we will not be back. The manager states "he doesn't cook." I've never been to or worked at a place where the manager can't work every position in the house exactly for nights like this. No sorry, no comp on the bill, no answers. read more

BEER! Hundreds of beers!! "Have you been here before?" "No" "Well we don't have domestic beers, its all craft beers". Okay... My husband I each ordered, I went with the La Fin Du Monde - a favorite of mine and my husband ordered a sour from ROAK. The server offered my husband a taste and he agreed. What feels like hundreds of beers worth of time alter, she returned with my drink and his sample and was off again. Most of the time, when offered a sample, the server waits while you try it so they can get you the full sized, but she wasn't most servers. And another hundred beers later she took his drink order. We also ordered food at this point. Here's the thing, I cannot even remember what I ordered. Maybe a wrap? The service wasn't great and the food was ho-hum. My daughter got chicken tenders and the breading tasted like dust. Negative flavor. The space is pretty cool. I wouldn't mind hanging out with friends but the services is too slow for that. It's a Beer Bar, which to me says you want to sell some beers. Ask me if I want another when I have 1/4 left. Wait to see if that sample was to their liking... push the beer. Yes, we had a kid with us but it would've taken a second to make some small talk to find out we were going over to the movies after, two beers during dinner is not crazy and my kid is almost old enough to drive... It was kind of a let down. It was also pretty slow for a Friday evening, happy hour. I would also have to agree with another post that the tap selection was a major let down. I wanted more beer. no one asked me for anything. We eventually came to the conclusion food here was a bad idea and chose to eat at Taipei 101 wich was amazing. You have about 4 other options for this type of place just In this strip mall alone. So many beers to choose from! It's a little overwhelming, but fun, none the less! My favorite was a mixed beer, chocolate covered orange....oh yum! My husband ordered light tonight and just had the soup of the day, which was minestrone. He really liked it! I ordered a pizza (wanted some to take home). Decided on the Diavolo. It was ok. I wouldnt say to someone "Let's go to Beerhead for pizza", but I would consider ordering it again if we were there and I was in the mood for pizza. Pizza and beer just go together. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The interior was nice and had decent seating, but didnt seem over crowded, so there is room to move around. Seems like it will be super during nicer weather to sit outside, and it also has open air options which I love. I think this place will do well being right across from the movie theater. read more

The food was great- many choices of pizzas. My husband and I split a pizza, more than enough food. I love that it was like we sat indoor/outdoor since they have a huge open garage type thing. SO many choices for beer, it was overwhelming. The only complaint was the service was awful. I was a little put off by the name of this establishment at first. It's a little odd, but hey, I like odd. Upon entering this hidden restaurant/bar, I was impressed with the atmosphere. It was pretty modern and it seemed like a cool place to relax and tilt back a couple of ice cold beverages. Even my kid thought the inside of this place looked cool. We were off to a good start. We were greeted right away by our hostess and seated rather quickly. We arrived in the mid-afternoon before dinner, so it wasn't really busy at the time. Our waitress came by and handed us our menus (more like encyclopedias). Seriously, the menus were gigantic. I probably would have enjoyed the size of the menu if I was planning to spend 3 hours snuggled up next to the fire on a cold winter's night. The menu has a small food selection at the front and a rather massive list of bottled beer options. After perusing the bottled beers, I noticed that most beers were from a short list of manufacturers, Beerhead just offers many different flavors from those manufacturers. Don't get me wrong though, there were a metric sh#t-ton (scientific measurement) of beers. It was overwhelming. I chose a beer from the draft list because the list was shorter. It was also much easier to find beers that I like from the draft list. Much easier. On to the food: I stated earlier that the food list was short. I'm not kidding. Beerhead offers a handful of sandwiches as well as coney dogs. They also have delightful looking pizza. I did see a few of the giant Bavarian style soft pretzels floating around and those looked amazing. I ordered the North Coast BBQ chicken sandwich. This consisted of a well-cooked chicken breast, greens, fontina cheese, tomato and BBQ sauce served on ciabatta. The sandwich wasn't bad. It lacked flavor. I also think the chicken could have been flattened before cooking it. The chicken was basically served as a large hunk of meat between 2 pieces of bread. I'm also not a fan of super thick sandwiches being served on a harder style of bread like ciabatta. The taste of the chicken was good, but the sandwich could have used more cheese and much more BBQ sauce. It wasn't bad, but I've definitely had better. I also tried the BLT. This is your standard BLT served on "Texas toast" with some Sriracha aioli on it. I was not impressed with this sandwich at all. The "Texas toast" was regular white bread that was toasted. I associate Texas toast with a more robustness to it. Everything's usually bigger in Texas, right? Bill Pickett would have been really upset about this toast, trust me. The only saving grace for this sandwich is the Sriracha aioli. This sauce gave the sandwich some personality that it desperately needed. If you're in the Novi area and your options are limited, I'd come give Beerhead a shot. They have a ton of various brews to choose from, the service is pretty decent, the restaurant is clean and they serve massive soft pretzels. This would be a great place to snag a pretzel and a couple beers before heading out to some kind of activity...like throwing axes...or throwing a football at bowling pins...or being willingly locked in a room by some strangers and being forced to solve puzzles to be set free. My husband and I spent Our Wedding Anniversary here on their First Day of Business, on Feb 14, 2019 - Valentine's Day and I am so glad we did. The staff was warm and friendly, and very knowledgeable about beer. I am more of a wine connoisseur but I absolutely loved the Blake's Fido! They had over 450 different beers and I sampled a few. They have some good gluten free beers. The food tastes good but it was just too pricey for the portion size. I will be back for drinks. read more
