Absolutely amazing. I ordered the Nutella, banana, strawberry crepe and i was shocked. Every time i bit into it i went to the heavens and back. The flavors all compliment each other perfectly, its the best thing i've eaten in a while. I was gripping the table as my toes curled while eating it, this sheet is so frocking flabbergasting i cant even put it into words. if you don't order this crepe every time you go to this cafe what the heck are you doing. Honestly if i could i'd give this 6 stars. So good im literally screaming. Not to mention the menu has so many vegan options its amazing. Anyways order this crepe or you'll go to jail probably. In town with the family for the weekend and searched for a vegan breakfast spot that's good for kids. Beerline came up and it didn't disappoint. I got the sw quinoa bowl, mom got the Buddha bowl and kids split Belgian waffle and cinnamon roll pancakes. All fresh and made to order. Fresh local coffee as well. Free WiFi, refills on coffee, games to play at the table, friendly staff, yelp discounts. What's not to like? The kind of place I'd go to all the time if I lived in Milwaukee. read more

I stopped in and ordered a BLATz. It was really tasty, and the service was wonderful. I did have one issue, though. The menu says that their sandwiches use seitan bacon, which is a wheat based protein. The sandwich I got was made with tempeh. No issue for me, since I don't have allergies, but I feel like someone with soy allergies would be unpleasantly surprised. I get that maybe they switched to a soy based meat substitute in order to be more gluten friendly, but I feel like they should have changed the menu to say "house tempeh" rather than "house seitan." Not an issue for me, personally, but I hope they can be more clear about what they serve in the future. It was a really delicious sandwich. read more

This place is saved by a single star for its tasty crepe. My first and only time I'll visit this establishment. I ordered their Americana crepe, blueberry Danish, and coffee in a mug (16oz). First warning: you place your order at the counter, and they bring out your food that's made. Everything else - the Danish and coffee - you carry back to your table. So why leave a tip? No one waits on you, or tends to your needs. The crepe (just one) is delicious. The cinnamon apples and what cheddar cheese that filled the inside of the crepe was very conservative... that's very amusing if these people are far left on the political spectrum. The granola and powdered sugar was a nice added touch. The Danish was not the best pastry. For what they had charged - I could have purchased two quality pastries freshly made at Panera Bread. Freshly? Yes, freshly. Because their pastry was wrapped in cellophane, and there's no telling how long it was sitting in their glass case. Now the coffee. It came nice and hot in a 16oz mug. I like two sugars in my coffee. When I first tasted it, it was very strong. So strong that I couldn't taste any sugar. I had some more swigs, and then added more sugar. Even though I could finally taste the sugar, the strength of the coffee still overpowered my palate and left a bad aftertaste. I didn't bother going for my refill; nor bother to complain about the Danish. This pretty much, in all, was a one time experience. I could return for another try, but that would require them to change a little... ~ be more generous: offer three crepes filled with ingredients. Instead of $7.25 for one crepe, charge $9.25... my God, they're crepes. ~ just because you're vegetarian doesn't mean to be limited in thought. There are great vegetarian burgers or sausages. Be creative for your customers who like the taste and texture of proteins. ~ fresh is best: don't wrap your pastries up in plastic, and don't serve anything over a day old unless it's discounted. ~ ever heard of a French press? I don't know who makes the coffee, but it's too strong. It's customary to use a teaspoon of coffee grounds for every cup of coffee. Using a French press you simply add the right amount of coffee, add hot water, let stand for a brief moment, and then plunge the press that will push the grounds to the bottom. Each press makes about 2 to 2 1/2 cups of coffee. No bitter taste. That's all I have to say about this experience. I hope it helps the owner to make some changes for the better; or to alert others who may consider trying Beerline Cafe. #NotWorththe$12.47 #RegretLeavingaTip My reply to the owner: You don't get it... Ordered the breakfast tacos with tofu scramble and it was amazing!!! 3 tacos for 5 bucks yes plz!!! The Jamaican mango curry soup is a perfect balance of sweet and spicy!!! I also recommend the vegan crab cake Benedict if they have them on special that day!! The "crab" cakes are moist and the vegan Benedict sauce is to die for!!! Amazing food, super friendly staff, and delectable fresh beverages!! Out of the literally 1,000's of restaurants in Milwaukee I was pretty happy with our choice!! I had the spinach and artichoke crepes and loved every bite--and had a super tasty watermelon ginger mimosa! Phenomenal! This restaurant reminded me of something I would find in Brooklyn, not Milwaukee WI. I loved the interior. An extensive menu of crepes, sandwiches, salads, juices & more. We ordered the blueberry lemon crepe, tuno sandwich & the barley mushroom burger. It was all divine! The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was the service. The young man who took our order was not warm & welcoming. Rather, he told us "your food will take 20-30 minutes" - almost as if he was deterring us from ordering. This was very off putting. I got the BLATZ panini for $6 and really loved it. I think they mixed a little bit of maple with the tempeh bacon and it was like a party in my mouth. My boyfriend, however, found it to be too sweet and distracting in his omelette. So maybe you'll love it, maybe not. I also got the oatmeal blueberry maple smoothie. It was really good and not too sweet or overpowering. My only complaint is that I got my food within the time frame they gave me (30 min) but it took an hour for my partner to get his omelette. Other people got their food before him, so I'm not sure if they forgot about his order or something. But since this place is fairly new, I want to believe they're still going through some growing pains. While all of their food looks, smells, and tastes delicious (when I sample other people's), by far my favorite and go-to item is the Sweet Potato Ethiopian Lentil Wrap. I've tried recreating it on my own, and while it comes close, it doesn't quite make the bar they've set at Beerline. The food is perfectly portioned so you're not overly full after breakfast or lunch, and it is a great place for converting meat-eaters into seeing that vegetarian and vegan meals can be just as delicious as a burger, burrito, taco, omelet, etc. with meat. Love this place and so happy it is a cheap, healthy, delicious option right next to my work! read more

I always enjoy trying out some new vegetarian/vegan spots for a quick sit down or to-go meal. We were craving a quick healthy meal and a patio the other day so we stopped by Beerline Cafe since we had not been there yet. The cafe crepe seemed like a pretty easy decision and a standard crepe item. It was loaded with tomatoes and surrounded by a well cooked crepe. This was just not for me, I did not expect a half pound of tomatoes wrapped in a flavorless crepe. It was very disappointing. My girlfriend ordered the same thing that was messed up on the first try. When they did bring it on the second try, the vegan cheese honestly tasted like a gallon can of processed cheese sauce from the 90s. Woof.. We also tried to order the jalapeño cheese dip..... They were out of chips? Chips! How? Messed up order, out of components to make food, crepes that had no flavor, unbalanced ingredients, and a name that absolutely makes no sense with what you will experience... So disappointing. Such a great location (right near the river!) and the place is gorgeous-a wall of plants, long wooden tables, and lots of little plants. The menu is nice, too--everything is vegetarian, and some things are vegan and gluten free. That have lots of juice/smoothie options as well, but they were a bit pricey so we didn't try them. I got the Mac and cheese, which tasted like boxed Kraft (and was so flavorless we had to douse it in salt and pepper) and my boyfriend got the cafe crepe with brie. The crepe was good, but the tomato sauce on the side tasted off. It's hard to describe, really, but neither of us liked it. Honestly this place may be more of a 3-4 star place, but I'm so turned off by how awful the mac and cheese was that I can't imagine going back. read more

Holy delicious Vegetarian dishes! It's places like Beerline that make me think going Vege wouldn't be that hard. If I lived in this neighborhood I just might try it out! I tried the breakfast crepe and it was spectacular. I can't even tell you what all was in it, because it wasn't standard cheese, bacon, eggs in a crepe. Or was it? I had the fromage and a cold brew. Cold brew was pretty good. For the fromage, I had the vegan cheese and sourdough bread. What great veggie options whether you're vegan (me) or not (my husband). We started off with a small order of the deluxe nachos which came out right away and were to die for. The cheese on the nachos is incredible! I got the vegan fromage grilled cheese, which is so yummy that I wish I lived closer so that I could get it more often. My husband got the breakfast sandwich on multigrain which was good but nothing special. We also got the Gaia salad with tofu. The green goddess dressing and the seasoned tofu make the salad special. We also got two different flavors of kombucha and the vegan caramels. All very good. They planned to close at 3 pm on New Year's Eve but stayed much later until all of the guests were done. I'm a vegan and was excited about meeting friends at Beerline Cafe for Sunday brunch. The first thing we were told was that it would be at least an hour before our food would be ready. To my great disappointment they weren't willing or able to accommodate my food preferences. After 5 minutes of back and forth questions, it became apparent that they weren't interested in working with me on creating something I could eat. So, I didn't order anything. Instead, I brought some fruit in from my car and ate that while my friends had their meals. None of my friends enjoyed their meals. If I could give this a negative 5 stars, I would.
