Getting clothing tailored has always been stressful for me, but I couldn't have had a better experience at BeFitted. I was frantically trying to find someone to alter a bridesmaid dress and was lucky enough to get an appointment on very short notice. Diane was the sweetest woman EVER! I can't begin to explain how great BeFitted has been! Not only are Michelle and Diane the most warm and welcoming people, but they do an amazing job. Diane has altered two bridesmaid's dresses and a few pair of pants for me so far. Rest assured your bridesmaid's (or wedding) dress is in good hands. I would give more stars if I could!! BeFitted was absolutely amazing. I would recommend them and only them to any bride that needs their dress tailored. I took my dress in for a rush job, a non-professional tailor tried to help me out with my dress and it ended up not being what I wanted. It was 2 weeks before my wedding when my bridesmaids reached out to BeFitted for me. They were realistic with what they could do but did absolutely amazing things with the dress!! They had to re-do the hem, re-do the bustle, take in the dress about 2 inches on the either side, and they smoothed out the hip area which had an odd protrusion. The bottom was still a bit off but I want to make it clear that it was only like that because of the previous cuts and attempts made to hem. The finished product made me feel confident and beautiful. Michelle and Diane were kind and warm, they were welcoming and talked me through all the details. They let me facetime my mom in during the appointment and answered her questions, my questions, and my mother in laws questions. They told me their opinions while letting me choose what I liked best. On the last day to pick up my dress I had two people from out of the country with me, they let me try on the dress again for everyone even though I know it was closing time for them. They are reasonably priced and Diane is an expert tailor, she has been doing this for years. Their store front is really nice and has places to sit when you bring friends and family -- although not huge so don't bring more than a few people! Parking is super easy and the frosted windows make things feel really private and secluded. You will be so thankful if you book here!!! read more

Wow! What a fantastic business they have going on here. I desperately needed an alterations appointment after the David's Bridal in Springfield dropped the ball (like whoa). I was able to get a Saturday appointment within just 2 weeks. I was the only one in the store and felt completely attended to. The appointments are only a half hour each but that was plenty of time for them to pin my dress, fix my bustle, and even offer to tailor my under-dress corset to flow with my dress better. Their price was amazing as well! I'm so used to things in Alexandria costing an arm, and a leg, but that was so not the case here considering how complicated my dress is, and the fact that they were altering my corset as well. I was completely satisfied with the service, quality, ability, price, and turn around time of just 4 weeks. I just can't recommend this place enough. I was lucky enough to be invited through a friend as a beta-tester and this service has been life changing. I work and live in NYC where time is the most valuable commodity. I usually go to Brooks Brothers for my suiting needs as they're close by my office - I can run in and out within 30 min. They usually have a lead time of 3-4 weeks when it comes to alterations but I didn't feel like I had a choice as most places around the city have pretty long lead times when it comes to alterations. And well - with a name like Brooks Brothers you expect a certain caliber of craftsmanship. But alas - they've failed me more than once. Thank God for Diane who has rescued me during those times! The first time Diane saved me I had bought a tux from Brooks Brothers and they left the hem job very short so it looked like I borrowed pants from a 10 yr old. The 2nd time was when the ($200) slacks I ordered from Brooks Brothers wasn't hemmed at all... And the 3rd time was when the blazer I ordered from Brooks Brothers didn't fit the waist, shoulders, and arms (so pretty much didn't fit me at all!). When will I learn?! Well it took 3 major mistakes for me to change my habits. In each case, Diane worked her magic and had everything fitting like a glove. Now I have my purchases going directly to her and she turns it around much better (and faster) than Brooks Brothers. And the best part is I don't have to worry about making it to the shop before they close as my "be-fitted" clothes come straight to my house! No more buying clothes, running to the tailor, forgetting to pick it up, and stressing out when i need the clothes. I hope they grow but at the same time I want to keep it on the DL... Would 100% recommend them for any tailoring needs. Michelle is EXTREMELY responsive and on the ball (not to mention their shop is cute, trendy, and comfortable). The tailor does a wonderful job. They were flexible (I came in 2 months prior to my wedding with a dress that I had no idea if it would fit and they took me under their wing). I had them sew buttons all down the back of my dress and it turns out we didn't have enough. One week before my wedding the extra buttons came and they had them on in a flash. I couldn't even believe it. They reassured me the whole way and even when I missed my last appointment in straight panic of wedding mode, Michelle was calm, accommodating and so kind. She responds via text so you can reach her when you need to. I really, really appreciate them and will go back to them in the future for any needs I have. read more

I already felt that they were a trustworthy company based on their online presence through their website and emails. I really appreciate the private appointments. I felt very comfortable each time. I needed a dress taken in from the back and the sleeve length shortened. The material was very delicate but watching Diane confidently measure and pin everything down made me positive that I came to the right place. My dress fit like a glove and the craftsmanship was flawless! I feel bad writing this because the women were nice, but this was the WORST experience/vendor I used for my wedding. I literally made a Yelp account just so I could warn people about this company. They were consistently never on time with appointments, overcharged me, did a sloppy job, and decided to make alterations to my dress (changing the sleeves) ONE WEEK before my wedding without asking me. When I asked why, they said they thought that they could make them look better (but NEVER consulted me for my opinion about the changes). I had to come back the next day from DC during the week of my wedding because they couldn't fix it since they don't have a sewing machine in their store. It was a horrible, stressful experience. They gave me a discount for the inconvenience and apologized for changing them without my permission, but it was an absolute nightmare to leave me hanging like that the week of my wedding. Again, the women are nice, but I have NEVER experienced anything like that where your directions are simply ignored. Especially when you are paying so much ($800+ estimated cost) you would expect a good, professional job. read more
