We eat there at least once weekly and sometimes do take out. They do a fairly decent job and we think their food is better than most in the Murrells Inlet area. Some dishes are a bit pricey and the taste does not suit our palate. We find most reasonably good and will drive the extra few miles for their food. read more

We dined here, although this place is best for takeout. They have a wide range of items on their menu, and food is ready quickly, which is always good. We got chop suey (shrimp and pork), which was on their online menu but wasn't on the printed one in the store, and they were happy to make it anyway, which was kind of nice. Portions are huge. Tried this for the first time tonight. Ordered online - didn't like that it forces you to tip to place the order but it turned out okay. We had sweet & sour chicken, sesame chicken, egg roll, crab rangoon and pork fried rice. All was very good. We usually have problems with new Chinese one of us or both find something we don't like. Not here is was all soooo good. Food was still hot when we got back to our hotel. We'll make sure to come here on our next trip. read more

Four of my favorite Chinese food establishments of all time are the type where you place your order at the counter and you pay for your meal upfront and then your meal is either delivered to your table or pickup at the counter when ready. The plus for this establishment is that they do actually deliver to your table and utilize actual plates and silverware. The negative is that they do not have any staff or management that cares (like my 4 top picks) by checking in with you to make sure everything is ok! The reason I selected this restaurant was to try the Cantonese Chinese food and hopefully bring back some early childhood memories of my first Chinese restaurant experience growing up. Unfortunately, when I asked what the ingredients were for the Beef Chow Mein, I was sorely disappointed to find out that the only ingredients were beef, onion and cabbage. Those ingredients are in no way reminiscent of great Tasting dishes like Beef subgum chow Mein with almonds and mushrooms. The ingredients they chose are the basis for the least visually appealing and worst tasting plate of chow Mein that I have ever consumed and I did not want to relive that experience. So I went out on a limb and tried a new dish (Singapore Mei Fun) that was recommended by a chef that had visited this restaurant previously. I would classify the flavor of this dish as a Thai fine noodle yellow curry dish with high heat levels that just overwhelms the natural flavors found in great Thai food. In other words, if all you can taste is heat, you've gone to far in my book to be enjoyable and you have partially killed my taste buds. My wife on the other hand chose her standard dish by which she rates all of her favorite Chinese restaurants by selecting the Beef Lo Mein. Well needless to say she was dissatisfied with her entree. The Beef in her dish was cut too large and when she went to cut the meat she was unable with the silverware given, and many pieces she was unable to chew or had an almost rubbery gelatinous texture. Because the texture of the beef was so terrible she refused to consume any of the protein. The dish also lacked the smokiness flavor that will be impacted by a skilled chef that wok's the meat and the abundance of flavor found when many vegetables are added to the dish. In addition, the use of what appeared to be spaghetti instead of ramen noodles surely affected the outcome also. Lastly, the egg roll that my wife selected looked like it had undergone way too many adventures in the deep fryer and no sweet and sour sauce was available on the table. The only similar sauce was Duck sauce which pails in comparison to sweet and sour. Overall this was a bad choice for my Father's Day meal and we will not return. Apparently this restaurant was under previous management before and after reading many more reviews during dinner I must say I agree with the disappointed folks. Since the management change, the quality of the food per reviews has gone downhill with many past customers complaining that they have given them three chances to improve and have not succeeded. I will be checking this restaurant off my list, and looking elsewhere for some great Chinese food! read more

I just tried Bei Jing for the first time today because of the great reviews I've seen. I'm a bit of a Chinese snob. I worked at a restaurant in PA for 4 years while going through college. I've also tried quite a few on the south strand. Hong Kong is convenient and they deliver, but THIS place is worth the extra mile or so. Delicious hot & sour soup and string beans & chicken in garlic sauce. The lunch portions are huge and cheap! Can't wait to try more. read more

When there are so many places to eat and high volume of people I often think places don't have to try hard to keep people happy...but this place puts its best food forward every time. This used to be my favorite for Chinese food. Not any more! Gave it three tries recently, different dishes each time, three strikeouts. I have tried many of the Chinese restaurants here at the Beach, and have not found one that passes muster for me. Today I tried a local place, that was recommended by a friend, and has mixed reviews. I could not have been more pleased with the quality, flavor, value and friendly staff. I judge a Chinese restaurant by several criteria, but the best measure is how they prepare Singapore Mai Fun. It is my all time favorite, when prepared correctly. Bei Jing has this complex dish down pact! The rice noodles were tender and not over cooked. They add shrimp and chicken with sliced fresh vegetables and then mix in a curry that is over the top. Their style is what I came to love from the well known restaurants in Philadelphia's China Town and the surrounding area, where Chinese culture demands excellence. They use just the right mix of ingredients and serve it up piping hot. I opted for take-out and the container was over stuffed and enough for two adults This dish a bargain at under $10. Free chop sticks are a plus as is the speed of service. I ordered over the phone (they also have on line ordering) and by the time I arrived, it was being scooped into a container. Whether you "eat-in" or "take out", the quality is excellent. Friendly staff, clean dining room and an open kitchen. Coupled with good food make this a place one of my "go-to" places here. I'm sure I will eat my way through the menu, but the first impression was an excellent one. I have learned that not all reviewers on these sites are good judges of food quality ( I am a Foodie and a Chef), so take a chance, like I did with Bei Jing. You will be very pleased. We tried this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. It was a good choice. The hot and sour soup was good and better the next day. The wonton soup was delicious with a good broth and a tender wonton. The meat tasted more like sausage but it was good. We ordered beef and garlic and it came with lots of vegetables and a good sauce. The Kung Pao was good and the chicken cooked to perfection and the sauce was just right. Could have used more heat but I just added some at home. The owners provided a table of condiments, wrapped fortune cookies and oolong tea to take home. I appreciate the extra effort and treats. read more

Great food! We are not normally on their delivery route but they came to us anyway. So glad they did. The crab Rangoon is delicious and a huge portion. We had sesame chicken, general tso's and sweet and sour chicken. You can order pint or quart size, comes with steamed rice. Or order the combo, comes with fried rice and an egg roll. As a local with so many choices, I read the yelp review before deciding on a restaurant with take out. The review as of today was one of the best on the south end for Chinese. While their General Tso was good. The fried rice left a lot to be desired. I would love to find one great take out for Chinese in the area. In the area on vacation, we wanted chinese food. We decided to try Bei Jing because it looked well decorated, clean, and had good reviews for the food. Many chinese places are strictly take out with a few tables and others are buffets. Bei Jing is a restaurant. You order and pay at the counter but the dining room is really nice and you get your food on real dishes. The food was really good. I'm used to NYC chinese and this was on par. The egg rolls were about the best I've ever had. The General Tso's chicken was perfect. Crisp on the outside, and a good sauce that was the right amount of spicy and sweet. The shrimp fried rice was also satisfying. This is a place I will go back to when I'm in the area. Great food, nice people, pleasing decor. read more

When the restaurant first opened we were thrilled to have good Chinese food in the neighborhood. We ate there often and the owners were very nice. A few months ago we ordered takeout and it was not good. I just assumed they were having an off day and forgot about it. Today we had horrible egg rolls that were rubbery, wonton soup that was just OK, hot and sour soup that was gross, flavorless chow mein and horrible Generals Chicken. I was shocked that this was the second bad meal so I called and asked if they had a new cook or new owners. She informed me that she was the new owner. I explained how horrible everything was and she said sorry and we hung up. I will never go back there again. read more
