Beignet's...welcome to Denville. Welcome to the sweets capital of Morris County. Thank you for bringing something different...Cup Cakes are played out. Ice Cream is great but we need substance. Cakes & Brownies...they come and go. But donuts...ah your donuts are a work of art and here to stay. They are not massed produce like DD. You make them fresh to order. They come out hot...and delicious...and moist...but your name speaks of a different pastry...the beignets...which is like a zeppole's cousin but crunchier. It was made fresh to order with loads of powdered sugar and was gone in a nano second...great work...but your donuts with their ridiculous concoctions of Oreo's, lemon, toffee, caramel, s'mores...I mean come on...you are killing me...with deliciousness. Who doesn't love fried dough? Beignets has it going on! They literally make the donuts fresh in front of you and offer a variety of different flavors to make your mouth explode. I was in the area on a cupcake hunt and yelped up this place after a serious cupcake binge. Say what? Handmade to order donuts? I'm there! From the moment I walked in I knew I had walked into something special. The staff were welcoming, friendly and gave me the run down on the menu. I ordered a caramel bacon and a lemon pucker. In a brief moment my made to order donuts were handed to me boxed and ready for consumption. So I paid and headed out to the car thinking perhaps I will have these later. But then the warm waft of fresh donut hit my senses. Upon opening the box I devoured those treats in seconds. So hot, fresh sweet and delicious! A delicate and sensible balance of caramel and bacon covering a light hot fresh donut is what made it special for me. The lemon pucker was lemonly lush without being too sweet, again perfect balance and flavor. I will be retuning soon for the French style beignets and BONUS they offer Espresso Con Panna on the menu! March 2014, So I returned for a 2nd round of tastes and this time the donuts were just ok. I had the chocolate pretzel crunch. The chocolate was flavorless and watery. Didn't taste like chocolate at all and the large pieces of pretzel on top were cumbersome and palate blocking. Just plain bad donut design. The beignets were not what I was expecting. I was expecting something more dough-like and instead were more like pastry. Given my above 2nd try I am knocking my 5 star down to 3. I might stop back in if I am in the area but won't take a trip just to go here like I did today. read more

Disclaimer: I haven't tasted the donuts or the beignets yet! First time here, had the the potato leek pastry with a double espresso. The potato leek pastry was delicious and the crust was the perfect flaky texture. The espresso was a little stale and watered down, but it wasn't terrible. The service was great. Staff was really sweet and helpful, and they seem to really care about their customers and their end products. Just docking one start because I was really looking for a great coffee. The first and second time I went it was fabulous the beignets were light and fluffy, truly worth the trip.. Unfortunately this time was terrible they burned the beignets they were hard and greasy and they were not fresh I think they premade and froze them, the latte was cold and awful tasting with no foam. I was eating there but they put it in a paper cup stuck a lid on even though i said i was eatin there, then decided to throw in a regular cup???? Killed it. We were also overcharged.. We will not go back.. The owners seem to have lost interest.. Such a shame..was a nice treat . read more

OMG!!!!! Fresh, hot, crispy, steaming made to order donuts. Walked in here after a blizzard and had a Nico, which is simply sugar and cinnamon and a smores. I think when he made my donut I think he forgot the graham cracker, but it was still darn good. The donuts are just the right size so you don't feel like a glutton. Husband enjoyed his Nico. He said that was all the donut needed, cinnamon and sugar. We will be back with the kid for some more crispy, doughy, steamy goodness :) read more

I spent the weekend in Denville and was looking forward to trying the donuts from here. LOVE how my friends had no idea how to pronounce Beignets. "Beg-knees?? Beige-Nuts?? Bennys?" Good times. On to the donuts, they're not super mind-blowing but they are fried fresh and unique. Nothing better than warm donuts. Much better than what you'd get out of any mass-produced place. They could be more creative with the flavors but I feel as though this is a big step up from everything else that Denville offers. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The interior is very cute/modern and I wish I ordered one of each donut since they are very fun to share and not too big. $1.50 a pop I believe, not too bad. read more

Unsanitary!!! I was so excited to go here and I drove 30 minutes from montclair just to get their donuts.....but the girl who served me was unhappy and not using any gloves nor washed her hands as she accepted my credit card, punched in the register and hand touched my beignets after all of that! Then the guy made my donut, but though he did have on gloves... He also kept the same gloves on after he turned on equipment and took someone else's credit card in his hands! Neither of these two properly had gloves on and changed the gloves after handling credit cards or other objects like scotch tape and boxes. Gross! read more

What a wonderful surprise! I had seen this place a few times in passing, and the hot donut sign was so enticing I finally stopped in. I am so glad I did, and I can say that I will definitely be back to sample the rest of their menu. I got an order of classic beignets and an espresso. The owner was there and was very friendly and helpful, as was the boy behind the counter. Everything is made fresh to order, so it may take a little while to get your donuts. Sit tight, because it is worth the wait. My order came fresh out of the frier and generously sprinkled with powdered sugar. The beignets were crispy, with tender layers of a buttery dough. I had to stop myself from getting another order, its that good. Paired with a classic espresso, an absolute winner of a combo. I had the coffee (regular) and two donuts. Chocolate with coconut and Cinnabon. The coffee was fine but a little pricey for just regular coffee (1.89) also it could have been hotter. They have the coffee out in thermos where you serve yourself so you're not sure how fresh it is; but it's not a hot as you'd want. The donuts are warm & moist! Both flavors were really good. The restaurant itself is cute, but not cozy enough for you to want to stay longer than it takes to finish your coffee. Okay I'm convinced! I'm always willing to wait a few minutes for something as hot and fresh as these cake style donuts. I don't have much of a sweet tooth at all, but I've found myself craving these ever since my first trip a few months ago. A coworker brought in some donuts and I had a bacon-caramel. It was ok - I love bacon but I don't think things should be automatically awesome if bacon is put on it. However, after looking the place up I found out the donuts are made-to-order and its pretty close to where I live so, I had to try it for myself. Its in downtown Denville (right next to Thatcher McGee's and across the street from Denville Dairy). There is usually street parking but that can be a bit of mess during high traffic times. Couple of things - they're cake-style donuts and about $1.50 a piece while the beignets are about a dollar a piece (minimum order of three). So if you'd rather have your "lighter" and cheaper Dunkin Donuts, then you're probably not going to be a big fan. I ended up ordering an apple crumb donut and an order of beignets. I'm no authority of beignets, but I liked it, even if my pants and car looked like Tony Montana's office. The donut was warm, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. They serve coffee and gelato too if you're into that. Obviously not the healthiest of breakfasts/snacks, but I'll be going back to try the other flavors. read more

Ever since i've had Krispy Kreme donuts hot, I have been on a lookout for a place that does this, but offered other flavors other than standard plain with cinnamon and sugar or during the fall cider donuts. Beignets in Denville has answered the call! The shop is located in the hub of Denville and is refreshingly surrounded by a lot of mom and pop boutique shops and food offerings most notably, Denville Dairy and Pink Cake Box to name a few. When you enter the shop, it is not your typical donut shop where you would expect to see racks of donuts or beignets all over the place. It has a modern coffee shop feel without the stuffiness and hipster feel. The first time we sampled a dozen of these donuts and was truly impressed. This was our second visit and decided to eat in. So here we go... Service: Was immediately greeted by owner and other gentlemen working. Took time to show us the menu and patiently waited for our order. We ended up going with Caramel Bacon donut and the tropical island donut. What was very cool was the gentleman working the counter took the time to show my son the entire process to making the donut which made my sons day! Very cool of him to do! Donuts: Like I said before I have sampled most of the flavors here, but the caramel bacon and the tropical island donuts are my standouts. Again these donuts are made to order, so they are nice and warm with a fresh glaze and topping. Texture is light and fluffy like and has a "cakey" mouth feel to it. Tropical Island batter is banana flavored and went well with toppings on it. if the menu doesn't satisfy you, you can actually customize your own donut with whatever topping and glazes are available as well. Beignets: Didn't have this before, but had them the first time. Light, and flakier texture than most Beignets I have had in the past. Overall a good beignet. Extra: I've always talked about, bake shops, dessert shops, about having a descent coffee/beverage selection. Beignets does not dissappoint. Coffee was great and went well with donuts. Overall, definitely recommend this place, especially if you want a break from DD or KK or just the standard donut. Also, your on a main st here, so either walk around first or walk around after and support the local businesses so you don't feel as guilty. read more

The young male that worked was very friendly and took the time to explain how it works. Basically you're getting fresh Beignets and Donuts... Yes as in I'll fry it in front of you and you can pick from our menu or you can make your own donut! What??? The Beignets were warm and fluffy with the powdered sugar and the donuts were awesome.
