As a Chinese who just came to US, I highly recommend this restaurant to people that are looking for AUTHENTIC Chinese food. It soothes my nostalgia by the genuine taste of original Chinese food. On a rainy Friday night, we placed a take out order and decided to pick it up since we had young children who needed to eat soon. We fought the horrific traffic to Jericho Tpke and picked up our order. The woman had several bags on the counter and we pointed to a bag and asked if that was our order and she said it was, gave us the receipt, picked up the designated bag and walked out. When we got it home we realized she gave us the wrong order. Speaking to her on the phone she went on and on about us taking the wrong order, but who is responsible to make certain the customer gets their correct order! The ONE and ONLY complaint I have is their freaking crispy chicken or duck, oh my lord what a horror. As soon as it opened for business the food and service Was Great. However now that it has Been open for a while it's horrible. The service is awful. The food is tasteless. We went with a group and got a bunch of stuff. General T'soas chicken was all fried dough barely any chicken. Found only a few that had actual chicken in it. The lomain was Mushi and tasteless. Half of these reviews are fake!! I hate to be the Debbie downer here but this restaurant was UNACCEPTABLE! We went on a Saturday night, 7pm party of 4. Seemed a bit busy but we were seated right away. Everything seemed fine.... We ordered 3 dishes, double sautéed pork, eggplant, intestines and a whole fish. Our order was taken at 7....our first dish arrived at exactly 7:40 (the pork). For every dish after that, we waited an additional 15 minutes. The wait staff was extremely inexperienced and didn't seem to care our dishes came separately. Got one half a** apology after he asked how our first dish was. I noticed the 3 tables of American families were served before us, seated after we got there. Pointed it out nicely to our young 18 yr old waitress, and she replies "oh their food is fast to make" then runs off. Now the food....FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! Advertises on the menus in Chinese it's a Szechuan cuisine? In what world?? All the sauces were thick, sweet and glazed. To Americans this would be considered "authentic"...I mean which other Chinese restaurant would have intestines, liver etc. no potential in being a successful restaurant if nothing gets changed. overall, this was a horrific experience we will never ever step foot in here again. read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese places to eat in Syosset. It's one of the only authentic Chinese places in Syosset. The food is great and they can accommodate to your taste(in my case I love spicy). The portion sizes are big so the food is worth the price, though it's really not that expensive. I was sceptical of all the 5 star reviews because it sounded too good to be true. But Beijing House is actually really really good, and worth every star! The food is authentic, the waiters are attentive, and the prices are totally reasonable. This isn't where you go for "sweet and sour chicken". But if you are looking for actual Chinese food, I definitely recommend this spot. We got the pork with sweet bean sauce, the steamed bok choy, the cumin lamb and the scallion pancakes, and everything was on point. If i could give this place a zero star i would! We ordered take out thinking this place is authentic since it has decent reviews. Boy was i wrong! Only one dish out of the six was decent. The peanut noodles was edible. The others sucked! We took one bite of the noodles with mince meat and spicy sauce and threw it away because it was extremely salty. The beef brisket noodle soup had only 5 measly meat pieces with mostly fat on them. The vegetable fried rice was bland. Typical americanized take out fried rice is better than theirs! The handmade thousand pancake is nothing but scallion pancake without the scallion. It was very oily. The homestyle tofu was a big let down too very Americanized as well. Not a fan. Respectfully I have gone to many of places with just me eating and I was disappointed. I stood waiting for a long time for a seat when I finally did get a seat folks that were sat after me had orders taken before me. I ordered an app (spring rolls) and a lunch special (beef noodle soup). The lunch special came and literally had no flavor water noodles and beef. I thought they had forgotten of the app but no I received that and my check at the same time. The spring rolls were tasty but that is the only positive on this dining experience. We were here today for dinner. I have to say the food here is different from your typical Chinese fare - this is authentic Chinese food! We had the Hot and Sour Soup, which was OK. We shared an appetizer, Shredded Potato with Garlic Sauce, which was outstanding. The potato had more of a shredded zucchini texture, which was interesting. For the main course, we had the Fish in Chili Oil, Chicken in Schezuan Chilli Sauce and Sausage and Pork Fried Rice. The fish was awesome, full of flavor and spicy. There was enough there to feed four people. The chicken was reminiscent of a dish I had in Beijing a couple of years ago. All in all, extremely authentic food, with gracious and attentive service. Food is really good, no doubt., I am giving the star rating based on the food only. Will say if you like the basics- lie wonton soup or egg roll, this place is not the upgrade. But the food is an upgrade with anything but what you're used to eating. We did get the sesame chicken asked for it crunchy and they did good. I was not impressed with this restaurant and now suspect now that Yelp works with the restaurants. This was a take out order which I placed at the front register. My dumplings were mediocre at best. The front staff had poor command of the English language. I asked for spare ribs and received a vegetable and what I can only describe as spare ribs placed into a blender and mixed with those vegetables. There were pieces of bone with very little meat. My duck was very, not normal fatty, and also splinted with bones. I was shocked. The dumplings from B. J.'s were better. I gave it one star because the fried rice was adequate. Love this place.. it may not be 100% authentic chinese, but compared to all of the americanized traditional local chinese restaurants, the food here seems much more fresh and "clean"... Took a while to get back for another visit, but glad that we did. No fails, though we were disappointed they had no stir-fried string beans. We started with beef brisket noodle soup, a steaming bowl enough for 4, filled with long wheat noodles, bits of bok choy, slices of tender beef and a broth endowed with 5-spice powder flavor. Just as delicious on day 2. Double sautéed bacon with spicy bean sauce was Beijing House's take on double cooked pork, only better. Thin sliced, flavorful meat and perfectly cooked green and red peppers. Couldn't get enough of this, but it could have used a bit more heat. Did they prepare this for gweiloes? Sliced lamb with cumin knocked me over with its aromatics. The waiter smiled as he walked by and saw me swooning. Another winning dish. BTW, Beijing House allows BYOW. They provided real stems and our waiter graciously offered to open our bottle. Hope my next visit will be sooner rather than later. read more

Authentic northeast China cuisine which is hard to find in metro NY area. Black bean whole fish, pork balls with gravy source and chicken stew with mushrooms are my favorites. The food here is excellent. I prefer this place over any of the restaurants in Flushing. We usually get the pork and chive steamed dumplings, sliced beef in hot chili oil soup, pork lo mein and string beans. FINALLY.... A very pleasant and much welcomed surprise. The food was excellent only to be matched by the service. This is NOT your typical cookie cutter Cantonese/Szechuan restaurant where everything tastes similar no matter where you are dinning (and more than often nothing too special) and the menu seems like it was printed in Chinatown and then shared throughout NY/LI.
