This is my favorite buffet in the area. It's the only one that serves my favorite (spicy squid salad), and it has a very large selection compared to the other "buffets" around here. The selection is key since my husband and son are picky eaters. My husband says it's not "real" Chinese food but it's a reasonably priced buffet... you want real, go to China or find a China town (there isn't one around here). Oh, warning. Although they do reservations there is sometimes a language barrier with whoever answers the phone. Our reservation was reserved for the wrong day which is why I gave them 4 stars. It's a "Asian" buffet so.... yeah... let's not go crazy here. The buffet is fairly standard.. including that traditional, ancient, oriental dish of bananas In strawberry sauce. Anyway.. I have eaten here plenty of times and, well, whereas it's not "haute cuisine" it hasn't killed me yet or given me any intestinal fauna that I didn't want. When I order to go, I usually order the same thing..large container of half Hot-n-Sour soup and half egg drop. Only this time the guy made a huge production of it. He made faces and looked uncomfortable. I literally paused, collected myself, and asked him if he had a problem?? I was quite indignant. Aside from walking in the door and it looking like a garage sale exploded all up in the front.. I kinda motioned and said "ummm, don't be judgy!" Then I went on to make some sort of comments to the effect of I didn't ask him to (poop) in it, either gimme the damned soup or I'll leave. What an ass! This was probably the worst buffet I've ever visited, and terribly overpriced. I paid $40.30 for three children and one adult. The buffet does not have a salad bar. The majority of items on the buffet were cold and under seasoned. The crawfish meat was black. The dining room reeked of sour milk. When I pointed out our issues and asked about the pricing, the "manager" just nodded his head and said said "uh huh." We won't be back to eat at this restaurant. read more

It's not often I leave a one star review, but this place deserves a 1/2 star if I could leave one. My family and I went to eat at this establishment only to endure a crappy experience to say the least. From the start our drink orders were wrong, twice. Our waitress was sitting at the booth next to our's, slurping soup out of a pan, like one the use to set food on the buffet line. Aside from the issues with our waitress, the best food item on the entire buffet was the green beans. Every piece of chicken was over cooked from the General Sao to the sweet and sour chicken. The taste was burnt, somewhat crunchy, flavorless, with sauces that didn't seem to have much taste either. The crawfish was old, like most buffets in MS, but the shrimp was also old to the point they were difficult to peal. Flies hovered above the fruit line, which deterred is from trying anything from that section. After the disappointing experience the check seemed over priced. I know I say that, "a buffet is just a buffet" But BSB is one of the nicest and cleanest buffets I have been to in a long while. Tucked away in D'Iberville, this buffet is no different than any of the other buffets along the Coast, except in taste. This is one of the first buffets I have been to where the fried rice doesn't taste like the chicken and the chicken doesn't taste like the egg rolls. Finally a buffet that separates its food when it fries them. The service was timely and attentive and they have some great flat screens to catch up on the news on. Prices are par with the bufffets in Gulfport and the area has some new shopping areas for you to walk off the pound of crab legs you just ate. With the Casino buffets costing an arm and a leg, this might be a great place to start before you go gamble away the night. read more

Not sure if words can describe the gluttony that takes place here. The clientele make the patrons at Golden Corral look famished! That being said this restaurant brings amazing value for the quantity and quality of the food that you get. Pros: Cheap and OK food that is basically something to eat. Great service and staff. Lots of selection. Cons: The food was cooked yesterday and reheated or so it tastes. The carpet is NASTY. I hate doing this but let's be fair. The prices are low for a very good reason. No steak. No shrimp. No pork. Chicken prepared 8 different ways. Stuffed crab was really oily. Soft shell was not soft. Pot stickers were too hard. Chicken wings were over cooked. Lo mein and pancit had no meat and just and little bit of vegetable bits. The sushi was also meatless. All of it. Nor was any of it wrapped. Never met our waitress. Less than $40.00 with drinks for family of six. Problem is, we couldn't eat the food so we paid nearly 40 bucks for nothing. Since every "Chinese" restaurant around the Gulf Coast serves exactly the same entrees, you can bet that none is serving anything like actual Chinese food. This satisfied our Chinese food craving. I would say that the offerings were above average, but I took my rating down a star because some of the food from the steam tables was not as hot as I would have liked it... Seems like a food safety issue to me. Thankfully, we didn't get sick! Anyway, they had a good variety of food. I would have preferred at least one more vegetarian dish, but that's just my preference... Love my veggies ;) Lots of desserts to choose from, but I would recommend staying away from the fruit - it was low quality and tasted pretty terrible. The ladies working were very attentive and kept our water glasses full and plates cleared off. The entire place was bright and clean. Decided to try out the 4.99 buffet after seeing it advertised many times on television. Was greeted promptly at the door and seated very quickly. This place was packed! It has fairly large floor space as well. There's a variety of food on the buffet, I had a plate of chicken and broccoli, went back to my table, and a roach ran out from under the napkin holder. A year ago, I would've given this place 4 stars. It was good food and it was ridiculously cheap. Now I refer to it as a cheap disappointment. All of their food has changed. It's the same food but not made the same. The pepper chicken has no pepper flavor. The jalapeño chicken has no flavor at all. Average Buffet at best. The chicken was smothered in breading and overly deep fried. The crab rangoons were excellent but the rest of the menu choices seemed to fall short. The fruit seemed bruised and wilted with a few fruit flies and gnats flying around them. I absolutely love this buffet. I have been here many times to know the quality is consistent. There is a very large selection including sushi. All the dishes are very fresh, nothing tastes like it has been sitting there for hours no matter what time of day you go in. All the workers are very pleasant. The restaurant is very clean as are the plates, silverware and cups. I have tried many Chinese restaurant buffets in the area and this is now the only one I will eat at. Not really a fan of buffets, but this one was pretty darn good. The staff is pleasant and very attentive. dirty plants don't sit long and a cup is kept full.
