Was selling food that expired December of LAST year... When we went to return the expired food we noticed there were several other expired foods in the same section. I understand stores FIFO and put the newest products in the back but it's also important to check that the ones in the front of the shelves are not expired, especially expired over 7 months ago. read more

I moved to this area from the bay area in 2018. I shop regularly here because it's one of the only better markets in here area , but I use the term loosely. There are a few things that I think need help. The store is not staff enough.And the staff that is here acts like they're being summoned. It's very rare to be greeted by someone just walking by that's a staff member. It's as if they don't realize that we're all guests in your store and paying customers, it's very rude and it's very off-putting. Very few say thank you. I know what high and grocery stores are supposed to be.And this is does not seem like one in many ways. There's also not stopped very well.I went to the one in Folsom and I didn't even think I was in the same-store absolutely amazing, which is what I expect from this one as are the knob hills of the day area.So this is just how to input, you're my market closest to me, so I'm sort of stuck, but I'm not happy with the store or the location. I usually stop at Bel Air to pick up items for lunch or a picnic. The deli has a good selection of salads and sandwiches. They also have a good selection of fruits and vegetables. Staff are helpful if I have a question or need assistance. Prices are sometimes higher but I am usually able to find what I went to the store for. The store is clean and I usually use a check stand that has a staff person. Someone is usually there to help bag my groceries. read more

Wow super impressed with the deli department! I was in a jam and needed a quick sandwich made for my day tomorrow at work. Had a crappy day and the greatest lady ever made my day. JENNI in the deli was able to figure out what sandwich I was describing that I couldn't remember the name of since it was given to me the other day. I wanted to eat half now and half for tomorrow. She was able to cut my sandwich for today and nicely packed my sandwich for tomorrow. I was having a crappy day and she really made it so much better with her great customer service! Very attentive. African American woman working at Pete's coffee on Mother's Day May 10th 2026 in the morning had an attitude over how I ordered my own coffee even with it being on the menu. I go for the same plain sandwich everytime and they never make me feel weird about getting the same thing. I shop at this Bel Air 3-4 times a week, and while the product selection is great and their Santa Cruz sandwich from the deli is consistently delicious, the customer service is severely lacking. It's disappointing how such a well-stocked store with quality food can be brought down by its employees' attitudes. After spending eight years working in customer service myself, I have a lot of patience and respect for workers in this field. I always say "thank you," remain polite, and try to make their jobs easier. But in this store, 95% of the staff come off as rude, disinterested, and completely disengaged from their roles. One particularly unacceptable experience stood out: I approached a cashier with my headphones in (still very aware of my surroundings), and when I noticed she said something, I politely removed one earbud and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that." Her response? She pointed to her turned-off light and very slowly, loudly, and condescendingly said, "I...am...cloooosed." I was genuinely shocked by her tone--it was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I wasn't being difficult, just unaware that the lane was closed, and there was no excuse for treating a customer like that. On top of that, there's a general lack of management and oversight. Employees are often standing around chatting, barely acknowledging customers or focusing on their tasks. For a store that charges premium prices, the service should reflect a higher standard. Sadly, that's far from the case. It's disappointing to say, but this location feels more and more like an overpriced self-serve warehouse with sandwiches than a welcoming neighborhood grocery store. read more

I take back a horrible review I gave 3 months ago. Maybe it was a change in staffing or mgt, but everything was awful for a few months from the long lines, 0 or 1 courtesy clerk so I bagged my own groceries for months, empty spots on shelves, no employees were even happy or friendly, to even the music playing was awful! I bought premade fried chicken from Bel Air for a quick family dinner, and a few pieces were spoiled. They had a strange smell and taste, and I ended up with a stomach ache the next day after eating some. We threw out the rest right away. I go in the morning and wonder why is only one cashier open? Amy the cashier is wonderful and is usually doing the work of three people. Where are all the other checkers? Where is the manager? What has happened to this store in the last 6 months? I've shopped here for 26 years and lately it is a different store. Service is abysmal. I've had to bag my own groceries for the last 5 or 6 visits because there is only 1 courtesy clerk working. Lately only 1 non- self service check stand open. No one available at the meat counter - only 1 person in the back, taking minutes to come help. Even the music playing has changed for the worst! Nothing upbeat or familiar, and made me want to leave immediately but I had lots of shopping to do. I didn't even see any familiar employees, and no one seemed happy in their jobs. On top of all of that, prices seem to have doubled. The Something Extra app is really inconvenient, having to spend the time looking through all the "coupons" to "clip", and then having to add those to your already made up shopping list, or spend your time on your phone app while you shop! Looks like I need to change stores after 26 years. Sad. read more

Lobster is listed as the first ingredient but it tastes like it's mostly Alaskan Pollock! This is not something I will ever buy again! Furthermore the main ingredient which is made by king prince acquired by Nippon Suisan Kaisha in 2005 and stopped whaling in 2005 one of the biggest over fishing companies in the world. I think Raley's and Bel Air should be a little more transparent in their product especially when it comes to seafood that is wrongly advertised in a case. You should be ashamed at the state of your restrooms! I've been in cleaner restrooms off an interstate at a grimy gas station. And I need to be let in by an attendant??? Why? What are you preventing from happening that isn't already happening under lock and key? Piss everywhere, wet, dirty floors, and graffiti. The sink is so dirty, there's no point in washing your hands, you'll leave dirtier than not washing hands. I was absolutely appalled by the state of the locked up washroom. Apparently keeping it under lock and key is doing nothing to keep it sanitary, clean or slightly presentable. Portapotty's are more desirable and clean than what you have in that store. Came here to grab some stuff for a party and had to use the restroom. I believe it was the manager (Sophia) who opened the restroom door to put the code in. When I went to wash my hands, there was no soap. So, I wanted to inform the person who unlocked the door because she looked like the manager, and Sophia said super condescending 'That's why there was a wet floor sign, they were replacing the soap. This store is dirty, loud with music only teenagers relate to, and many of the employees are lazy and rude. Lines are consistently long and the self checkout terminals require constant overrides from an employee who is usually too busy joking around with coworkers to help. It's a disaster. The two item plate is 9.99. The girl behind the counter won't even do a full scoop of your two items. The second time the salt and pepper chicken was just disgusting. We moved to the area a year ago. I have had several issues with this store. They keep expired items on the shelf. I have had to return eggs, pickles, and meat. I had a pick up order that once I got down the road they call to say they gave me the wrong order. And on three different occasions I witnessed employees arguing in front of customers. And on two occasions I have had the same checker talk poorly to me about other customers. When you pay Raleys/Bel Air prices, you expect quality products and service. I have never been inside this grocery store. However, since the start of the pandemic, I have used their eCart service weekly. The eCart team is exceptional! This was the fourth grocery store with eCart service I tried, and I only order here now. ALL the eCart team members are friendly, polite, accommodating and go above and beyond! We shop at Raleys & Bel Air every now and then but when we do it's always a great experience. Prices are a little on the higher side but that's expected because everything here is good quality and the service is great. Employees are very helpful and knowledgeable about products. There's also a check out for non patient people like me lol. On certain things prices are very competitive for example fresh strawberries 2lbs at 3.99 or some ice creams from $5 something down to $3.99 etc. I rate this Bel Air at 4 stars because my wife needed a little help with flowers and one of the employees was too busy to help her, but another employee helped within 1-2 min. read more
