This location has the greatest Checkers..always so friendly and engaging. In the right way that comes from hiring, motivating and compensating - and other ings as well - good people that aren't faking it to meet some silly management smile quota. (It just smokes my tuna at some stores where one cant walk five feet without another employee climbing up a persons butt cleavage simply to deliver a forced and wholly transparent salutation only to suddenly de-butt and make tracks back to their assigned Station of Further Feigned Friendliness.) Butt I digress... So on my last visit to the store for a soda - their glass bottle soda snob section is my version of a North Auburn wine cellar - the person in front of me in line was this highly buzzed Eastern European chick who obviously learned real quick how to pull a cork if you know what i mean. Girlfriend could weld with that mouth, an ignighter and some stick. Instead she was trying to buy more cork and the checker won't having none of it. In the most professional way ever; just cool as a cucumber. That wasn't left to ferment. So Milvankia calls over her boyfriend (pimp) who is now to buy the 14 bottles of screw top beverages and while the cashiering and bagging were going on they decide to get after it like it's a bus-stop bathroom next to the free clinic. Never have I been so thankful for alcohol based hand cleaners after that buggy was bagged. But the whole time our cashier never broke once...kept doin what needed doing to get them to their truck bed as quickly as possible. I respect that kind of control and professionalism as a customer. Mostly 'cause I don't have it and its pretty to visit now and again. Because if that had been my checkout line, oh lawdy, that trollup and her penicillin papi would be tossed the Bel out of Air and I'd keep the weave clocked from her head as a souvenir flying on display from my lane light. Until fired. So there you have it...smoked tuna, butt-cleavage, soda snobbery and cool cucumbers. Like you really expected a Town & Country review anyway,,,,brother pu'leezze. Lost one star because its 11:59 on the 'Hmmm maybe its time to update the 90's decor before folks start in for lunch' O'clock. They had what I would consider an "above-average" selection of items in which you would find at 'just any' grocery store, and this includes food for those that are vegan. The place was extremely convenient to go to (from the area in which I was specifically coming from), as it was several miles closer than any other grocery store in that specific area. Contrarily, most items are overpriced. I found some vegan items that I had not seen anywhere else, so I was overall very happy that I found this place. read more

Prices here have gone up a bit too much. They don't really match or compete with the other unionized local grocery markets. Even Safeway is slightly cheaper than Bel Air. But in all honesty it's not like they are setting their prices. I'm sure some corporate office tells them exactly what to charge for the majority of products. Service is friendly, most items are easy to find, NATURAL FOODS AISLE REMOVED. They now have all natural foods items on green shelves around the store with other similar products. As great as the workers are, it's clear that the upper management (in store or corporate level) is doing a lackluster job at the following -Competitive Pricing -Proper store layout with a real natural foods section. I'm sure this is because they want to make us walk around a bunch to find our natural foods so we notice other items on displays and spend more money. It's somewhat of a petty product placement tactic that you really wouldn't expect from any decent supermarket. -CEO/Corporate issues with strikes in the last year and pay freezes on employees despite Joyce Raley Teel being a billionaire. She has multiple charities set up to make Raley's appear like a great store while most employees struggle to make livable wages. -Customer service office is not unionized and therefore Raley's refuses to make simple cost of living adjustments to their hourly pay rates. Top out wages in this office have not been changed in over five years and there is no signs that it will be changed anytime soon. Overall. It appears that at a corporate level the Raley's business model is to appear like a family friendly store while they shaft their workers. The employees are the only nice part about this store, and most of them feel cheated by their corporate overseer. read more

I really love going to and being a customer of Bel Air. The peope are so nice. The food is always well displayed. The fruits and vegetables are of top quality. I really like the way they have old fasioned service in bagging the groceries and helping you out to the car. I always enjoy talking to the employees. I cannot recommend Bel Air enough. read more

This review is based on overall experience at Raley's. I would like to highlight one trip here though. I went grocery shopping about 7 pm, and I was very thirsty. I had a water bottle with ice left over, but I wanted a soda, so I bought a drink. I told the cashiers(2 of them) that I was still shopping, but I wanted the drink while I was shopping, so go ahead and give me the receipt just in case. I walked to the dining area and filled my water bottle with the soda, and I threw away the container(there was no recycling). There was an employee sitting there who didn't acknowledge me at all. I started to shop with purchased soda. About 5-10 minutes later, the security guard came up to me with the empty bottle, and asked if I filled my water bottle with it previously, and said that an employee had concerns. I said yes. He started to go on talking, and I interrupted him. I told him I bought it, I had the recipient, and the 2 cashiers up front could verify it. I offered to show him the receipt and he took it and verified. He apologized to me profusely, and explained that they had been having problems recently with shop lifting this time a night. I told him I completely understood and thanked him for his concern. He went on to talk to me for several minutes about my job(I had on my name tag), and he ended up apologizing more, and thanking me for what I did as a profession. I went on my merry way and continued shopping. Despite this somewhat embarrassing experience(that could have been avoided if the employees communicated a little better, plus I was 1 of maybe 4 customers in the store), the employees were all very respectful and did a great job at protecting their store. I really appreciate that. The products are good here, and the employees are always very welcoming, sincere, and take the time to remember you and ask how you are. We just moved to the area and stopped at this Bel Air location today. It was a great experience!! Very clean and well stocked. The staff was very sweet, friendly, and helpful. A lady in the bakery gave my little ones a cookie and the lady at the Peet's coffee stand was super nice and gave them a snack sample as well. Nice treat for the kids as I continued shopping. Our checker was very nice and chatted with my toddlers as well as the person who bagged our groceries and helped us to the car. Very pleasant shopping experience. The prices are ok. I think some stuff is too pricey but overall their prices are comparable to other stores that lack the same excellent customer service. read more

I had ordered a cake for a small event. The event was rescheduled the night before, and didn't think it was enough time to cancel cake, so we got it anyways. It was a beautiful FRUIT BASKET CAKE, and was so delicious, and decorated beautifully. So, I ordered a second one, for our event the following weekend. The cake was falling and sliding when we got it home, and had FRUIT slopped all over top. We were still ok about it, because it had been so good the week before. Wrong! It was filled with a raspberry filling with tons of bananas, a couple of strawberries and no crushed pineapple. I called the next day, Sunday,and waited for manager Lisa to call when she got back on Tuesday. She said it was filled with rasberry filling because they didnt have the crushed pineapple. They can only give me half my money back because I still had the cake! What? No one even ate it, it was a horrible disappointment, and without all the FRUIT, hardly qualified as a FRUIT BASKET CAKE. Not what they describe, or what I had before. I have pictures of both cakes, and the difference is very noticeable.The difference in taste was the tell all. Disgusting! Lisa also said different bakers make it different ways. WHAT? Shouldn't they all be the same, if that's what they are advertising on website. This is ridiculous. Poor management of their bakery, and NOT satisfactory to their customers. I am telling everyone about this. This was not what I ordered. It was poorly made and the manager, Lisa, though polite, was very disappointing in her reasoning of why the cake was so different. It's not what I paid for. The fillings are suppose to be FRUIT, not raspberry filling! They need to retrain their department to make cakes the same consistently. And they didn't get crushed pineapple through their delivery to bakery, they could have gotten some from their store shelf! Completely disgusted! read more

My shopping experience at Bel Air in Auburn is always wonderful. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. I love the energy, they are upbeat and seem to really enjoy their jobs. The store is clean, organized and things are easy to find. I never have a long wait in line and if by chance the store is really busy and the line is longer than usual the checker always thanks me for my patience. I stopped in another grocery store the other day to just grab something quick and what should have been and in and out experience was anything but. There were only two check stands open and at least 5 people waiting in each. I never have that experience at Bel Air in Auburn. In a digital age of automated services I truly appreciate the attentive customer service and healthy family environment. I don't like chatty kathys at the check out. When you have to put up with the checker chatting away while she is supposed to be watching the price of the groceries we buy, it's a little unnerving. She charged too much for 10 items in my cart. I looked at the prices on my receipt when I got home, and she was so busy chatting away, she didn't bother to notice the prices of produce. Having worked at various stores, I watch the prices carefully. Watch your crew over there. Talking a little is nice, chatting away and asking personal questions of customers is another. Also, she was very rude. You can afford to get better checkers in Auburn. We'll be going to Raley's where we get very nice, unchatty checkers. read more

Very ashamed..I sent out 80 dollars to pay a bill and the bill never got paid the company never got my check and I still have no idea where my money went. I have been shopping in this store for two years. I always thought it was a pretty great store. Today I went there and bought a couple of blocks of cheese and since I had such a small order I told them to skip the bag. so I took my receipt and my cheese and headed for the door, on my way out I looked at the bargain table and then checked red box for a movie then headed for my car. half way through the parking lot I hear running behind me and turn to see a young employee chasing me. when he reaches me he asked me if I had a receipt for my cheese. so now I have the surrounding costumers staring at me like I am a thief. of coarse I had a receipt. how humiliating. I just left the check out counter. is there no training? No cameras? Shouldn't they be sure of something before making an accusation in public and humiliating someone? Well I wont be shopping there anymore, and I will be sure to tell all of my friends. Very disappointed. read more
