Office staff treated me like garbage when I asked simple questions about my recent service call. I had to ask for another rep to chat with as the 1st female was very rude. 1st rep told me that she was the only one I could chat with, and we disagreed. Tried to overtalk me and questioned my integrity. The phone number thy had for me was wrong. Alex the tech was a gentleman. My appt was to have my filters replace. Crooks. Crooks. Crooks!! All about the money, not customer! $500 minimum for a 8" ductwork & filter. Went to turn on heat, at MY suggestion, not the Tech's, no heat. Tech opened furnace and furnace harness all chewed up? Tech said initial person who came out was just a "Salesman and wasn't there to inspect or diagnosis, just there to sale." Why in the H%^& would you send out a salesman when we're saying we're without heat?! Techs left us with no heat. Said Manager was trying to contact "John, the salesman to see what to do." A day later....no response! I was persistent and finally spoke with John, who surprisingly said, Oh, no ones contacted you yet?" Spoke with another person in "sales" and questioned already paid $500 and no heat. Told an additional $120 for repair, fine!!! We need heat! Tech said need new harness---can't repair. Another person in "Sales" quoted an additional $551 and part not in until 3 weeks!!! 3 "salespersons" and 2 "Techs" later, no heat! November will get a low of 24 degrees and we have no heat! You've been warned. If possible, please use a different company! Stay away from these crooks!!!!! read more

This company was recommended to us by a reliable source. We're having some issues at our lake house on west side of Michigan. However I could not even get through pass the receptionist. I called twice, both times spoke to Lauren. Both times she told me she needed to speak to the Project manager. And the project manager was in "meeting all day". I never received a call back. After a tech sits at my house for 2 hours and finally determines it is a stripped screw and then leaves without fixing the issue because I didn't buy the part from them...and then charges me $108, leaving me to goto the hardware store and fix it myself. Not exactly sure which address I call but Bel-Aire has always done me right. New furnace, AC unit, energy audit all through them and I've been happy with the service. Never priced out other companies but I have to think all servicemen are overpriced and have to make their coin so I'm not sure who the cheapest is but I'm not sure I want the cheapest work done at my house so there you go. My only gripe and it could go for all servicemen, please don't send me a smoker. Like a car or a hotel can I request a non-smoker workman? This would have been 5 stars if it weren't for Dave. He called and said he was on his way and never showed up. I called the emergency line and they had Mike call me back. Mike ended up having Tommy call me back. He's a good guy. He went above and beyond to get our air going. I really appreciate him but Dave is very unprofessional and even lied and said he knocked on the door and called. That never happened. My dogs go crazy when there is a knock on the door. This is a scam they said I have a two year warranty my air conditioner it stoped working today still under warranty but how it works is you have to Oder the part from the factory and wait for it to come in then get a install appointment and put the part in No air or heat in the mean time.They fixed it today with a universal part but not a OEM part so not covered under warranty so they would have to turn my air off and order the part come back out and install the factory part this seems to be a racket if they don't have the broken part in stock a capacitor your have to wait for the factory $130.00 out off pocket buyer beware...... read more

We bought a new Lenox furnace in 2015 along with an annual service agreement. During our 2019 annual inspection they said they found a hole in the heat exchanger and said we needed a new heat exchanger. They would need to shut down our furnace if it was not repaired. The cost for the labor was around $750 (for a relatively new furnace!). Bel-Aire Said Lennox would reimburse us for half of the labor fee. We have made several calls to Diego at Bel-Aire to follow up on the reimbursement. He does not return calls. I would never recommend them. read more

We have used Bel-Aire for years and have always had positive experiences. They are our 'go-to' for HVAC. We like their service contract program for VIP care. It was great to be put on a priority list when our A/C went out in the heat of the summer this year. They were here in a blink to fix it! I was looking for a heating company that was reliable and showed up at the scheduled time. I was referred to three companies by a friend and checked them all on yelp. Bel-Aire had the best reviews so I went with them. I can't begin to tell you how great and prompt they were! Derrick, the technician was fabulous, on time and answered a lot of questions!! I spoke with Amy in service about my parts and issues that I had with my boiler and Karen in sales. I felt that they all had my best interest at heart. My boiler was 22 years old and not ever having a boiler I didn't really know what to expect. Derrick and Amy both took a considerable amount of time to talk to me about what to expect with a boiler this old. I felt no pressure in either ordering the parts or deciding if the best option was to get a new boiler. I asked to be transferred to Karen in sales who told me all my options with boilers or transferring service to a furnace, which would be cheaper. There was no high pressure sales pitches. DO NOT purchase their yearly maintenance agreement, I have been with them for around three years, each year they came to do the yearly checkup I had something wrong with the AC or furnace and had to pay to replace the part, the last one that finally did me in was to the furnace, after he had left we had not needed to use the furnace because of the weather so when we turned it on my wife smelt gas, we waited a few days because we figured the guy would have checked for a leak, after all it was a yearly "checkup " , anyway we called them and they told us the couldn't get to our place because they were on some kind of emergency call, we then called Consumers power and they confirmed the leak, we called Belaire back and they came and fixed the issue $200 later, it turned out to be a pin hole leak in a flex hose, my opinion the guy who did the yearly maintenance had to have caused it, I asked the service guy to have their service manager (Diego) call us , we never heard a word, terrible customer service read more

Extremely dissatisfied with service and personnel. I've used this company for decades and after the last three calls I will never use them again. Furnace fan died and they replaced it but later that night I realized the furnace did not shut off. When they came back to fix that the technician actually blamed me. I got a quote for a furnace replacement and the salesman told me that they could not install a high efficiency furnace, (and replace the water heater) I called the main office and they said they could. After the install the water heater kept resetting - they are supposed to replace it but they are dragging their heels. Something changed with this company and after 3 fails I will move on and try someone else next time i need service read more

We've used Bel-Aire in our old house for more than 20 years, and except for one bad experience during an extremely cold weekend, they have always done well. They did well again today when they replaced the coil in our AC system. They aren't cheap but they are very good. read more

Worst company. I called and scheduled a diagnosis. The tech never showed so I called. They put the wrong address and person down. Then they diagnosed the problem for my furnance incorrectly. A security nd tech came out diagnoised the jack was broke. I was left with zero heat for four days. The installers finally came and then left before check No the furnance was fixed. It was not. They charged me 312 for less then an hour of labor and increased the price of the jack. I asked for an itemized bill after being told the jack cost 149.99. They charged me 550 read more

I've been a customer with Bel-Aire for years and have always appreciated their service. Miss talking to Lisa, the 'older' one, but know customer service isn't her area of work. I think only 1 time in all these years was I disappointed, it was a time I needed emergency help, but it was a glitch and ended up in good shape. All the service guys have been timely, call before they get here and as far as I know, get the servicing done 100%. I've referred friends to BA and will not make any changes in service as long as service is as great as it's been! Our furnace was red tagged so we were anxious to get estimates and have the new furnace installed. The estimate process went smoothly and they scheduled the installation for the following week. They even loaned us heaters which we really appreciated. The installers came and put tarps down to protect the floors. They were supposed to put in a fresh air intake pipe instead of using the damp basement air. They didn't think it was necessary. I questioned it but let them leave. (Our other furnace corroded from the damp basement air.) An hour or so later I smelled natural gas. We called and someone was out within the hour. There was a gas leak. I was upset that the installers had left and not rechecked a very important detail. The general manager called a week later to see if we were happy. He was unaware of the gas leak or the improper installation. The installers were out the next week to fix but no follow up has been done. I'm giving them three stars because of the lack of attention to the gas leak. read more

Terrible. They came to fix our furnace 3 separate times during the winter, and every time they just looked at it, restarted it, shrugged, and said it was fine. Inevitably an hour after they left, the furnace would fail again. We spent a week sleeping in our living room with space heaters in the middle of January because they were so incompetent and we eventually went with a different repair business. Our furnace stopped working on a Sunday morning, the tech said the problem was a valve that he did not carry and we would have to wait until Monday. After being without heat until Monday afternoon, he installed the $180 part, but then said that the only problem was a wire that had its insulation worn away. They do not seem to have experienced repair people. I would not use them again. read more
