I have been into this store a few times in search of various parts for my 1964.5 Mustang. I'm not even looking for difficult to find parts. I just didn't want to wait. Once I wanted centers for my rims (in that case all centers online were backordered) and today I wanted a new blinker switch for my LED taillights. Now, I do not claim to be a mechanic and I'll be the first to admit that most of the time I do not have any idea what I'm talking about BUT I am learning and I am trying. Today I found the older man working in the store to be of no help and completely patronizing. I will never go back to Bel-Kirk Mustang. I will buy my parts online. I wanted to support a local business but it's just not worth trying to talk to that guy. read more

I've been coming to belkirk since I was 16 when I could only afford parts to keep my 68 mustang running. Fast forward 20 years and I was finally in a position to restore it. I turned to the great team at belkirk to not only restore it but to upgrade the engine, transmission, EFI, and much more! Like with most big projects, there are set backs and I will say it took a few months longer than they quoted but I'm glad I held out. My car turns heads and is a blast to drive. I've been waiting to write this review for months. I really wanted to like this shop. I have invested literally thousands of $$ and probably a month of lost driving time in this shop trying to fix my car. Without going into painful detail below is my experience. Pros: Very nice guys and always willing to discuss issues and explore solutions Honest and fair Not charged for miss-diagnosed issues that resulted in needless part replacement Specialized knowledge and experience with classic Fords Cons: Slow work Repeatedly miss-diagnosed problems resulted in needless repair/replacement of parts Parts suppliers used provided multiple defective parts Numerous times car needed to be returned due to work not being done correctly or they didn't complete everything they said they were going to when it was dropped off. Process for problem diagnostics is inadequate Their prices are not cheap (e.g. $200+ for an alignment) but they stand behind their work and will do what it takes to make things right. For me this is huge and gained them an extra star! They are honest, fair and did fix all problems with my vehicle. Unfortunately I spent literally six plus months waiting for them to get things right. For a daily driver vehicle that is extremely painful. read more

Do not recommend. They will charge more than they should, add in things you don't ask for and not actually diagnose what you ask them to. I drove my mustang to bel-Kirk in late April for help with my an over-heating issue - as they were mustang experts. One of their mechanics has zero business being in a garage. Mike was great, but the other person kept working on my car even after I expressed him not to touch it (based on my first conversation with him). I asked to simply have them change the fuel pump and hoses to carb and give me an idea on overheating. And to not exceed $300 or call me if so. 4 days later I get a call saying my bill was over $750 for "repairs" I did not ask for and that my car now doesn't run at all. Examples include a non-stock metric battery cable that they installed after they broke my stick one, 10 gallons of gas that never got poured into the tank (was bone dry when I got home) and many other "parts". He even adjusted my clutch - the wrong way. The highlight of this experience was them telling me my engine was shot and I needed a new one. I towed it home and after 3 seconds of pulling the dist cap I could see they broke the metal prong on the rotor causing it to be sideways. No way it would fire right. Put an old one back on, ran great. Mechanics should know how to diagnose something so simple! Don't trust them on your car. read more

Our son has a "new" 1966 Mustang and we've had a few issues right out of the gate after purchasing it. We took it to David at Bel-Kirk Mustang. He took good care of it and of us. We came back after having carburetor issues. David came out to the parking lot and spent a lot of time educating us on the system, what we could do and offered a few options. Well, this is the second Mustang I've taken to Bel-Kirk, and the experience has encouraged me not to take anymore there. I dropped of the car in April, being told it might be a 'couple weeks' before they got to it. I would call and be told it would be next, or they would be getting to it at the end of the week. This went on until July. When I finally got the car back, the new fuel sender didn't work correctly (the gage read only a little over half when full), and it kept stalling and dying. I took it back, where they had it for another couple days before telling me it would need a carb rebuild, for some 247 dollars. Of course, that was the carb they had just rebuilt. When I informed them it was their work, they hung up on me (this might have been an accident). They called back the next day. They had rebuilt the carb incorrectly, but it was now fixed, no charge. They also took care of a problem caused by a previous owner who had taken out the correct, easily removable seat nuts for ones I couldn't access (not for free, but I didn't expect that). Well, they almost got that right. Two of the new nuts were put in over the old ones. I ended up having to enlarge the holes in order to get the seats out. The sequel to all this was a year after having Bel-Kirk work on the car, I was having some brake issues. I took it to a local shop, and their first question was: did I install the rear brakes myself? Seems the adjusters were in upside down, so they would go farther out of adjustment each time I would back up. Easy enough to do, if you're not paying attention, but hard to do for a professional. I informed them of who did the work, and they were shocked it was a professional mechanic. There were other problems as well, which I ended up fixing myself, rather than make the trip to Bellevue yet again, and have them keep my car for days until they could get around to it. On the plus side, they were always nice and courteous, and ready to give me updates. read more

Just got my car back from Bel-Kirk Mustang. Matt took care of all the paperwork and details over the phone and Eric was the service mechanic who worked on my car. I brought my car in because my heater core was leaking antifreeze inside my car, my battery was nearly shot, and my oil pan washer was shot and leaking oil everywhere. So, I figured it was time for service. While there, they found that I had leaks in my carburetor and dry gaskets and did a rebuild and also realized that my car could run a lot smoother with a tune-up and changed the points and rotor and cap. The car for the first time since I owned it didn't need to be pumped and primed and choke pulled out to try to start it. It started right away and ran smooth. And, No more leaks! I forgot to mention that they cleaned up the car too (additional cost) so it looked pretty sharp on pickup. They have access to all types of cleans and details if needed. Love these guys and will definitely bring my car back for service here in the future. I would also highly recommend their service. read more

For the last 8 months I have shopped my 1961 Ford Falcon around looking for a mechanic who knew old cars. I have to say that these guys are a dream come true. They know absolutely everything about the car and the engine. Nothing has been a surprise to them, and they have heard of everything I bring up to them about stuff I have read online. My car has been modified to be a frankenstein of sorts, as it has an early model mustang straight six in it which created a problem with mounting the carb as mustang engines have the carb facing the wrong way for the linkage. Thus my carb was put on with a fabricated mounting bracket and gaskets. It was done slighty wrong originally and confused everyone who ever set eyes on it. Not these guys. They have a lot of stuff from simple radiator caps (as mine was not holding pressure and needed replacement) on hand, and know how to track down most everything else you may need. I can't say enough about how valuable it has been to find such a well-spring of knowledge specific to these old ford cars as it has been hell watching every other mechanic I have taken the car to scratch their heads.
