Brought my 2004 Acura NSX here for an alignment on 6/14/19. I had just recently lowered the car and installed new wheels/tires. Extremely happy with how everything turned out. The technician Memo, (sorry if I misspelled your name!) did an excellent job. I was waiting in the showroom, he brought out the spec sheet and asked me if everything looked okay. I asked him to make a little adjustment to the front camber and he took care of it without hesitation! Car tracks straight and steering wheel is not off center anymore. Overpriced. Called in for a quote for ride height adjustment for my coilovers with corner balancing and was quoted $1100. Seemed a bit high so I did some research and found out it should cost about $300 for the corner balance and about $100 for the height adjustment. 1 star for trying to rip me off. read more

My first experience here was awesome. I took my Cayman in for a front tie rod refresh and rear adjustable toe link install plus alignment. The advisor (I won't name names) was super friendly, seemed genuinely interested in my plans for the car and chatted a bit about service and tuning options. I was given a tour of the shop and really thought that I wouldn't need to go anywhere else. I planned to go back for PDK service, Carnewal GT exhaust, and down the road, some major suspension work. Fast forward a few weeks to bringing the car in to diagnose a significant creaking in the left rear. I was pretty sure the sound was coming from the left lower control arm, and was clear in my communications that the noise only happens when the car is hot. This is not something I imagined. My wife and son both heard it, and when the car was hot the sound was audible in the cabin and easily reproduced by pushing up and down on the rear end via the trunk. Regardless of this they honed in on the brakes (which are noisy Ferodo track pads). I had to repeat a few times what I was asking them to diagnose. The fact that I also wanted the brakes bled seemed to add even more to the focus on brakes vs suspension issue. I track this car occasionally, so control arm ball joint wear is a legitimate safety concern. The first time they called me they said they couldn't reproduce the sound, so I asked them to try again with the car hot. They still couldn't reproduce it so they greased/lubricated all the joints. After I picked the car up I drove home about 25 miles the sound was clearly audible, so I took a video. I also noticed a significant new scuff on the right front splitter. I am not blaming Cantrell for this, but they were super disinterested in even talking about it. I emailed a pic of the scuff and a link to the video, and asked them to ask the tech about the scuff. I don't remember doing it, and I wanted to know if the tech did. I notice things like this quick (I know every inch of that car). I was told they would ask the tech when he returned on Thursday. Here's the thing...If I question a new scuff on my car after leaving it a shop, I expect a call to the mechanic, not to wait 4-5 days for him/her to come back to work. I also expect some form off empathy/concern like "sorry that happened," or "crap hope it wasn't us", some form of back and forth etc.. It's now been two weeks with no word back on the scuff or the video. So back to DIY I guess.. my son and I used a stethoscope to isolate the noise to the left rear ball joint in about 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure any two mechanics could have done so with the car hot. I have two new coffin arms on order. I was really hoping to make this my one stop shop, but it was weird having such a great experience the first time and a perceived lack of interest the second. Maybe it was just an off day/week, but I'll be using another Indy to install the two rear coffin arms and align the car. Bummer because it seemed like this was the place to go. I've tried my best to be accurate and fair in this review. On the plus side the brake bleed did wonders. read more

Everyone I've talked to when shopping for a shop said Cantrell knows their stuff. I very much agree. I have been a customer of Cantrell's for almost a year and a half now for aftermarket work I've had done on my 2014 S4 (height adjustable springs, then coilovers). As a car enthusiast, not a car expert, I've always appreciated their patience in explaining things. I had questions about suspension (springs, dampeners, coilovers, spring rate, etc) as well as products and both Colin and Jeff were able to answer everything in language I could understand. For the quality of work and service I received I've always found their prices to be competitive -- prices for parts have matched what I can find on the internet. Both the height adjustable springs and the coilover installs were done on time and with high quality. (Btw, if you're wondering about springs vs. coilovers, just do the coilovers and save yourself the time and money.) The height adjustable springs were a new product for them to install and they did so without issue. Service after the sale/install is very important to me. Everyone at Cantrell is committed to customer satisfaction from the top down to the techs working on the cars. I had the pleasure of meeting both Colin and Jeff out front as well as Teryn in the shop. Everyone is friendly and willing to answer any question I have. Given I have coilovers the car is lowered and I've had a couple of "ooops" moments where I've hit something on the bottom of the car. Jeff was able to see me that day and put it up on the rack to check it out and alleviate my concerns. Every interaction I've had with Cantrell has impressed me and contributed to the trust I have in them. And I have to say that I am *very* particular about my car and want things to be perfect. Because of this I can be a "difficult" (but reasonable) customer. Both Colin and Jeff have patient and understanding and always up to the task. Obviously, I can't say enough about the experiences I've had both before and after the sale. I was interested in a GT3 they had for sale so had them do the PPI Checked out clean so I flew in from Philadelphia to visit the guys and the shop I was blown away by the professionalism, courtesy and thoroughness of their operation. Colin (owner) is a legend, with a racing background himself, and knows everything there is to know about his customers cars. Walk around the shop, the current customer projects, and its GT3 after GT3 after Gt2, RS's, its just another day at the office for these guys. Not only that, but its not just oil changes and dealership maintenance their doing...its serious builds: custom cage work, bored and stroked motors, turbo upgrades and its all highest level of scrutiny and craftsmanship. Best part of all, they're genuinely nice dudes, who, like their customers, clearly have a passion for motorsport. I've been a client of Colin Cantrell for almost 15 years -- dating back to before he opened up his own shop. During this time he has developed a constantly growing and loyal following of customers. I had my 911 turbo serviced a few times back when Cantrell was in their old location in Kirkland and had a few issues. It was mostly simple work like oil changes and brake service for my EVOMS GT660 998 TT. Last service a few years back resulted in them overfilling the motor oil and park brake was adjusted too tight to the point where it was rubbing. I took it back the next day and they took care of it but since then the car just never felt right. From then on, I noticed a little white-blue smoke from exhaust that I never seen before. Ran fine but it just upset me everytime I looked at the tailpipe with hint of white smoke where it's never been there before. I never brought it up to Collin but it kind of irked me. I was planning on trading in the car in a couple months anyway so it wasn't a big deal but it left a bad taste from the experience. Hopefully this was just a fluke, rookie employed tech perhaps, other folks seem to be happy so perhaps it's better now but I haven't gone back there since that happened. read more

I used to use Eurosport over in Renton and until their place caught on fire and then I found Cantrell. I was referred there by the old owner of Eurosport. Had them do some work for me. When a new shop opened up at the old Eurosport place I tried them. That's when I found out not everybody knows how to work on a Porsche. I don't like driving to Bellevue but if I need my car worked on that's exactly what I'll do. And they always have the coolest cars in the showroom. Don't trust your car to anybody else. Unless it's a Honda you can take those anywhere. LOL read more

I've been taking my Porsche (996 turbo) to Cantrell for the last 10 years. They've performed almost every type of work imaginable including oil changes, suspension work, electrical work, and a rebuild of my transmission. Never had a problem and always felt great when I'd pick the car up. I'm picky and frequently find new scratches and dirt in/on my other cars when I take them in for service at other shops. This isn't the case at Cantrell. Their shop is spotless and their attention to detail is reflected in the work they do. I made the (huge) mistake of trying to save a buck by taking my car in for work at another shop who promised they knew how to work on Porsches. After a 2 month ordeal I took the car to Cantrell who quickly diagnosed and fixed what the other shop couldn't diagnose. Long story short. Don't cut corners with cars like these. Cantrell's rates are reasonable and the knowledge that they'll do the job right is priceless. read more

I have been taking my sports cars to Cantrell Motorsports for over 5 years and cannot express how happy I am with the service they have provided. They have gone out of their way on many occasions to help me out, and the quality of their work is outstanding. Today I took my 991 GT3 in because I had inadvertently overfilled when topping off the oil. In this car that is really easy to do. So they drained some oil and meticulously refilled very small amounts at a time until they got it right. Then Dominique took the time to carefully explain to me how I could prevent this in the future. I estimate it took them about a half an hour to do this. When I went to pay Jeff he said there was no charge for the service which really surprised me as this was totally my fault. Then there was the time that they towed me home from the track as a courtesy. And the time they determined the expensive repair I needed might be covered under warranty and called the Porsche dealership and confirmed I could save $5000 and have the repair done there.
