My family decided to celebrate my father's birthday at this spacious venue. There was plenty of space for our large group of 15. There was even more space for an upcoming reservation for another large group! We were the only ones in the restaurant initially, but then two additional parties of two came to dine inside as well. There may have been others outdoors, on the front patio by the entrance. That's also a sufficient dining space & option. Service was exceptional, considering our large group. We were more than happy to show this in our gratuities. The food was nicely salted. I didn't detect too much other seasoning. In a way, this allowed the food to shine, but some in our party thought the food was under-seasoned. Overall, we had a good experience. A few had overcooked fish though. That's the reason for the 4 stars.

The service was on point! Very attentive and friendly. The ambiance was very pleasant, comfortable and relaxing. There is a small bar area and a sit down patio area outside. We ordered a "Snapper with Shrimp Bulhão Pato Style" and my DH loved it! Cooked perfectly and delicious. The garlic shrimp appetizer and the goat cheese and bread were soooooooo good! I ordered the shrimp and lobster risotto special and was extremely happy with it. All the flavors worked well together and one could see that they cared about their cooking. The food was perfectly cooked and we didn't have to ask for anything. We want to go back and try other dishes. Give them a try, you'll be glad that you did!!

Went in for dinner. Cute place. It was crowded. We did have a reservation. Service and food were excellent! We started with the Mussels, with beer and chorizo. The mussels were great! Had awesome flavor. We had the Osso Bucco, and the Paella. Excellent.

Looking for something different and this is it! Very nice inside-upscale but not overly fancy. Our server Anthony was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive we were not rushed at all. Started with flaming chorizo and cod fritters apps. Sausage was good and fritters were excellent with outstanding mustard. Jessica had octopus, which is her favorite and she loved it. I had filet on a black stone and cooked to medium rare in front of me. Fun!! Dessert was lemon blueberry ice cream cake recommended by Anthony and he was on point. Will surely return soon.

It isn't easy to find a family owned restaurant in the Port Orange area offering such a culturally diverse menu. Are you the type of person that doesn't read long reviews? Just pay attention to the next sentence. The entire evening at Bela Lisboa was a rare week night treat with my señora encantadora. Keep in mind the food here is cooked to order so don't be in a rush. Order a glass of wine, sit back and savor the time together. If you are only interested in the food descriptions, skip ahead, but first I must give recognition to the front of house staff. And by staff I mean our waiter Anthony, and one other female server. I watched these two working tables, inside and out, while tending bar, busing tables and cashing out patrons. Anthony was quick on his feet when moving about and yet patiently answered our questions on wine and meal descriptions. He wasn't afraid to make suggestions and or describe in detail how something was prepared in the kitchen. He was a wonderful guide through the abundant menu. After receiving our drinks and enjoying the complimentary hummus/bread we decided to start with the garlic and olive oil poached shrimp. Although probably the least favorite dish the evening (no, I did not say not good), still a nice way to begin. I just wish more of the tasty bits of flavor made it up out of the bottom of the cast iron skillet onto the shrimp. Don't worry, we used the bread to dip them out. For entrees we selected the crispy seared Red Snapper and clams, served over mashed potatoes and vegetables, and the baked octopus with the same sides. Both dishes were absolutely spot on. Delicately flaky snapper and octopus that was unbelievably tender. (Side note: I cook octopus at home, know how difficult it is to get right and generally feel mine tops most establishments. After having it here I feel the need to sneak a peek into the kitchen to discover their secrets.) We ended the evening with a shared dessert of creme brulee; one of several goodies they make in house. Was a nice way to cap off this dinner as we sipped the last of our wines. How has this place been open a year and we are just now hearing about it? Hopefully this review will entice a few more people to get out and try something different. Bela Lisboa, you have earned a spot in our dinner out rotation. There is no doubt we will return, perhaps on one of your candle lit dinner nights we heard about.

I'm sad to be writing this, because I really enjoyed this place on my previous visit. I came back with a party of 6 and 2 babies for a birthday dinner earliish, 5:45pm. We got: 2 octopus appetizers - excellent, liked by all and completely finished 1 calamari appetizer - also very good and eaten Pasta with lobster and shrimp - my dish, very good. Could not detect truffle but maybe that's a good thing. Paella - This was sent back due to an "off" taste. The chef sent the waitress back to ask if it was the chicken in there. This makes me think that he suspected the chicken was bad and he served it anyway. This was to be a shared dish and nobody wanted a replacement, even another dish. Octopus dinner - Enjoyed, but wanted a better sauce not just olive oil. Really thinking this place needs a grill to char the octopus. The birthday person loved the potatoes. The waitress kept trying to take the plate and he kept it until he managed to eat every one. BTW, these were the sliced roasted potato, not the smashed garlic potato on the menu. (Also we got plated dinner not the skewer version) Pork Atelejana or something like that - my husband did not like this at all. It's sautéed pork pieces with clams and potatoes. He said the pork was dry and chewy and there weren't many clams (8). The potatoes didn't stay crispy because of all the oil based sauce. Pork Osso Buco - Looked and tasted great. My son annihilated it. Shrimp Mozambique - Delicious as the last time we had it. This was also entirely eaten by the group. My DIL ordered it and ended up sharing it with the table. Chocolate 'souffle' - a lava cake, it was good. Crème brûlée - Better than most! A nice crust and a smooth if a little thin custard. I like the custard a little thicker. A polite small bite was left. Now to the reason we rushed out of there. After about 7pm it because unbearably hot!! And it seems to be an ongoing problem, not fixed, per wait staff comments, my impression. The babies were overheating with sweating and red cheeks, and so were we. We had to get them out of there. We were not able to linger over our wine or desserts. This really killed any ambiance of course! I sure hope they get it fixed. BTW, the presentation of the skewers is vertical, very nice looking. All in all, it was a disappointing evening. I like this place's family feel and great service but I think I'll only come back early in the evening and not with a large group. P.S. We brought our own wine. The corkage is $15, but they only charged it once, which was nice. We opened 2 bottles of wine for the party.

Octopus starters, 1/2 price Portugese beer, and shrimp entree...plus dessert.

The food was absolutely incredible! The manager Teddy was super nice and gave us great service. Such a peaceful, laid back and inviting atmosphere. Best experience we've had visiting the Daytona area. If you don't stop by here, you're missing out!!!

We went here for Valentines Day as a date night. This restaurant was rated highly for a good date night restaurant. It was very nice but I am not sure I would rate it as a highly rated date night place. It is nice but not fancy. They had it decorated nicely for Valentine's Day and they had a female singer "Sweet Melissa" that was very good. The service was a little slow but they were packed for the holiday so it was to be expected. The menu had a lot of very good sounding dishes which made it hard to decide. We started with Portuguese Cod Delights which were mashed cod shaped in the form of a tater tot and then deep fried to a golden brown. They are served with a tangy lemon pepper aioli. They were very tasty. For dinner I had the Snapper with Shrimp Bulhão Pato Style. It had a very large Red Snapper filet that was grilled to perfection. There were about a half dozen medium size shrimp cooked in a white wine, lemon butter, garlic and cilantro sauce. It was all served over a bed of smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The flavors were exceptional and was a very large portion. If you like Portuguese and Mediterranean Inspired food this is the place to go.

What a lovely hidden treasure! I am huge fan of Portuguese food, having eaten many a family dinner at the restaurants of Newark's Ironbound section. The local reviews have always been good. We finally ventured there and we were so satisfied with our meal. The restaurant offers plenty of seafood choices, but I had to have the paella! It was superb, with lots of mussels and clams and good-sized shrimp. We also had the seafood risotto, which included perfectly-tender octopus. Our family also ordered the osso buco, richly flavored and fork tender. Topped off with some excellent Portuguese red wine, it was a fabulous meal. Our server was awesome, too, attentive and friendly and the decor was nice. I'm looking forward to a repeat visit.

When you visit Bela Lisboa you are transported to the Mediterranean. We visited on a Saturday night and was very surprised! Live music serenaded us through our experience. Very large and open space with a beautiful mural and lots of touches of color. There is outdoor seating and large tables inside for large groups. We started with red sangria and Polvo alla Gallega which was beautifully cooked and resented. You get complimentary homemade hummus and bread very light, and not heavy on the stomach. My husband ordered the Black Truffle lobster and shrimp pasta which was tender and tasty and perfectly seasoned. I otdered the recommended The Camarao a Mocambique! It was fresh and still had tails on the shrimp over the saffron and turmeric rice! Go and you will not be sorry! Our waiter Nick was attentive and very pleasant! Whole experience was refreshing!

Does this restaurant have a full bar?

Draft and bottle beer both import and domestic. Great wine list…some of the best reds I have tasted, and we go to Napa every year. I saw martinis and alcoholic drinks. I just don’t remember a display of alcohol bottles behind the bar

The clam chowder was rich, hearty, and loaded with clams and other delicious ingredients. We also took advantage of their happy hour special with $1 raw oysters, which were fresh and delicious. We had chowder, raw oysters, lightly blackened mahi-mahi and peel/eat shrimp. No complaints with any. Peel/eat shrimp came with potatoes and corn, too-- nice surprise. Mahi-mahi came with tasty fries. Just a simple little place with basic menu; I guess I was hoping for a bit more variety and different dishes, this being the 3rd day of seafood fest! No complaints at all, but there are other places in the area with very good seafood, full bar, seating on the water, etc. (I thought this place could probably charge much more, being just as it is, if it were anywhere near the actual beach or waterway).
