By far hands down the best Chicken Parm that I have found anywhere. The only one better is my own. I judge Italian restaurants by their Chicken Parm and I am often disappointed. Not here. The sauce is so tasty and the pasta is fresh made. No store bought pasta here. I ordered the caesar salad addition. It was OK. The broccoli was cooked just right. Service was excellent. Had a delightful evening at Bella Costa last night. 6 friends got together for dinner and only one of us had been there and that was many years ago! We shared arancini, mozzarella sticks and stuffed mushrooms as apps and all were delicious. The menu is extensive and all six of us enjoyed our different meal selections from fish to chicken, veal, and eggplant parmigiana. The food was generous, hot and fresh. Our server, Jean was phenomenal- never wrote anything down and never missed a beat- the place was packed and she never stopped and was so warm and welcoming. Wonderful piano player who played very nice dinner music that did not drown out the conversation. A young woman accompanied him for a few songs- nice surprise. Must mention desserts!! Creme brûlée best we have ever had and cheesecake got lots of raves, too. The ambiance was lovely- old school classy with a nice fairly big bar- white table cloths etc. Don't know how this place could get anything but 5 stars- don't let those bad reviews keep you away- this place is worth the drive read more

This is one great restaurant. I went this past Saturday and enjoyed myself. The atmosphere is so cozy. The food is so fresh and the food is authentic Italian. I love the Piano music at dinnertime. It reminds me of old time places like Rizzos Restaurant in Windber, PA. I get here as oftwen as I can. The people are caring and nice. It is simple great food that you would find in Italy. I once went to a restaurant very similar in Brindisi, Italy where the pasta is made on site and .......... anyway you CANT be disappointed. Ok, so look. Italian restaurant in a shopping plaza behind a Taco Bell? Really? This place was recommended to us by some Bostonians who said there was no need to go to the North End. They were right! We asked the server which pasta's they make on site, which desserts they made that day. Lasagna was legit, giant piece and all fresh ingredients. My wife got a veal dish with homemade pappardelle. Glad we arrived early for our 6pm reservation because we sat outside and watched cars circle looking for parking. Lovely staff was quick with bread basket and beverage orders and frequent check ins to see if we needed anything. Started with yummy stuffed mushrooms and "just OK" chicken rice soup. Hubby enjoyed his gnocchi and I had their version of seafood cioppino over pasta. Fair price for Conundrum wine by the glass. Outside speaker provided lovely music for patio. First time visit tonight, food was excellent. I was taken aback by the level of rudeness of our waitress. She really went out of her way to rush us, dismiss us, and make us feel like we were pestering her. As a former waitress myself, I go out of my way (and make sure my family does too) on the pleases and thank yous, self bus the table to the extent I can, don't make high maintenance requests etc. I get how hard it is. Tonight's service experience was really awful and I'm curious if this is typical for the place or just bad luck tonight? Being a waitress you often pick up on the way you're treated by your servers when going out to eat. Unfortunately tonight we weren't accommodated by our server what so ever. She did not check on us once, get us refills, have manors, ask if we needed anything through out the hour and a half we were there. We basically felt invisible and had to send out food back through another waitress and get refills on our waters through another waitress as well. Disappointing considering we drove out to here specifically to have a good meal and enjoy our time. My wife and I were in town from Las Vegas for the holidays. We met some friends from Holliston at Bella Costa. We had a great meal and all the food was served nice and hot. It was super Delicious and very well priced. Also, the servers were very knowledgeable about how the dishes are prepared. The best food around whether it is Italian, seafood, Greek or American! Seafood risotto, seared scallops, baked stuffed shrimp, eggplant parm (it melts in your mouth), ricotta stuffed eggplant! I could go on and on. Don't see what you want, ask the chef if he can make it. They are very accommodating when possible. Their signature drinks are great. Relaxed atmosphere. As a first and last time customer I am absolutely disgusted with this establishment. Not even sure where to begin. The seating was for two. My Guest and I arrived at a normal time for a Saturday night around 7:30. The place was busy but not chaotic. We were seated within 5 minutes right next to the piano player who was playing some wonderful tunes and then waited for our waiter to greet us, 10 minutes go by and we were given 2 waters with no napkins. We place an order for a Sprite and a simple salad. Another 10 minutes go by and we receive our single drink and salad. This salad had a total of 3 croutons. Nitpicking, but that is below average for any establishment. Meanwhile at no point were given bread and butter, while every other table and newly seated guests were given bread and butter so they were not out. Our waiter arrives, we place an order for Chicken Marsala and Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. Forty Five minutes later we receive our food. Keep in mind this place was not busy. Here is where everything went south. My Marsala plate had been drowned in wine, entirely way too much wine was added. The chicken in the Chicken Marsala and the chicken from my guest's plate were clearly microwaved. The chicken was light on one side and brown and hard as a rock on the other. On. Every. Single. Piece. The chicken was not grilled since it had no evidence of grilling or char nor was it seared again missing any evidence that it had been prepared in such a manor. The only conclusion and this is years of experience cooking chicken was that it had been frozen, defrosted and microwaved causing the chicken to dry up on one side while it was heated up. Alright, I said to myself this was the last straw. I'm not a confrontational person by any means. So with that said I waited for the waiter to appear and made sure the piano man was playing a song so that way as I spoke to the waiter no other customer could hear. I didn't want to cause a scene and have other people question the food or the service so I decided to keep it low and professional. I flagged down the waiter and told him " Look this isn't your fault by any means I know you just serve the food, but both our plate were not good and something is terrible with them" He politely said sorry and that he was going to get the Manager/Owner. Our waiter left and 10 minutes some guy, literally some old guy who could have been anybody working there came up to the table and said " I heard there was something wrong with the food". I said "Yes, I feel that there was too much wine put into this plate and the Chicken......" This man promptly took our plates and walked away to the back kitchen MID SENTENCE when I was talking to him. No eye contact just took the plates and walked away. The man came back." I am a Chef", he said "This is exactly how Chicken Marsala is made There is NOT too much wine in this plate! I said, Sir I strongly believe that this plate has something wrong with the...... HE WALKED AWAY AGAIN MID SENTENCE. At this point I had no Idea what to say or thing. The man playing the piano looked at me and shook his head shocked at what he had seen and heard, keep in mind we were less than 8ft away from him. Twice this person mid-sentence walked away from their customer. He came back once again with the check, said nothing and walked away. I was furious. I was belittled and treated like a child, I was told I was wrong and he was right and it was all my fault. This is NOT how you run a business, nor is it how you treat or talk to a customer or anyone for that matter. Never in my life have I ever done what this guy did to me and my guest. It was outrageous and disrespectful. That was my first and only time I will ever set foot in that place. read more

I visited this restaurant pre-Covid frequently with work friends and always loved it. When my husband was craving fresh pasta recently I did not hesitate to take him there. It was a big mistake! The service was lackluster and the food was horrible (the pasta was extremely over cooked and I got spaghetti when I requested ziti). It was so disappointing. To make matters worse, when the waitress asked me if I wanted a second drink, I said yes and it never appeared. Instead she went to the bar where I could see her reapplying her lipstick and mingling with customers seated at the bar. We then waited and waited for her to return and at this point we just wanted the check. Again we were ignored. I never knew this place existed until this week! We came here for a little mini group holiday lunch. We made reservations and our table was ready when we got there. The hostess and waiter were very polite and helpful. As we sat down the waiter was already at our table introducing himself and serving us water. They have "early bird specials" that are $9.99 and served between 11 and 7. We didn't try any desserts or appetizers. 3 of us ordered the chicken Gorgonzola which was a HUGE portion and very good (when it came out our eyes all bonked out and we all said we would have leftovers for dinner... well it was so good that we all finished our plate!!) One had the lasagna which was a huge portion size and the chicken Marsala came out in a massive bowl too. A year ago my wife and I received a very generous gift card to Bella Costa restaurant in Framingham. We decided to use half of it for some takeout. I distinctly remember an awesome tiramisu and good meals. A couple of months ago I decided to use the other half of the gift card. I picked several dishes for takeout and I even had their banana version of tiramisu which was (as expected) delicious! Not surprisingly, our visits to Bella Costa are now biweekly. The homemade pasta, generous fresh bread, nice sauce, schrod meal and classic italian dishes, culminating with fabulous desserts, all have us joyfully returning. I'm so fussy after having 2 italian grandmothers and my mom cooking the real deal weekly. It says something that I've been frequenting Bella Costa these days. So please keep up the good work. We were sat between two huge parties = issue #1 The two parties had kids who's parents could care less and were very rude = issue #2 (while this isn't the restaurants direct issue, it contributed to the crappy experience.) While the food came out fast, it was way over salted. It was so much so that I really couldn't eat it = issue #3 The waitress was nice and could tell how miserable the experience was for us. That was THE ONLY nice thing about the meal. She was attentive and pleasant. Note to the restaurant, if you have two large parties, seat them together. Do not try to put small tables in between them. Put the small tables together and the large parties together. The small tables do not appreciate being on display between the two large parties. It was really a crappy experience and we had potential to be regulars. Needless to say, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Cute little entrance with an amazing and friendly host upfront. Very clean inside and awesome atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive and prompt. We shared a Baked Stuffed Eggplant with crab meat(actual crab not imitation nonsense) appetizer to start our dinner. It melted in our mouth and plenty to share for 2 but can be shared with 3/4 people. I thoroughly enjoyed Bella Costa Cioppino with Diablo sauce(fantastic seafood dish), my wife loved her Pappardelle Alfredo with chicken and broccoli(she described as light and flavorful) and our daughter had kids Cheese Ravioli. Cute ambiance for a hidden little framingham spot. Great piano player which really added to the ambiance. The bread is homemade but doesn't entirely taste homemade. We got mussels in white sauce huge portion for 10 bucks and as good as most muscles are. Steam salad was good but cheese was melted on top which was odd. And points for real bacon but it had been pre cooked and was cold. Salmon salad also huge portion like muscles. Flavorful fish. Weird canned peaches on the plate. Server was prompt and friendly. The wife and I had not been here before. We were in the area, hoped for a nice dinner. We surfed and found this, the pictures looked good and the reviews seemed solid. I disagree. We had 8 PM reservations. This got us the 4 top that was the table nearest to the kitchen and bathrooms. Ugh. It is in a highway of wait-people. The place was crowded, it seemed like a popular spot with the locals. Ok. So, keeping it short: ordered drinks and dinner. Erica brought me cabernet savignon instead of the savignon blanc. Ok, came back. The wine glass she put down was visibly filthy. Ok, came back. Her mimosa was weak and flat. Dinner: my scampi barely tasted of garlic. It was "creamy." Huh???? Erica did warn me, but I didn't see anything else that was particularly intriguing, so I went with it anyway. The shrimp were big - too big for scampi - but cooked well. Her dinner - a chicken dish that was a chef's specialty - ostensibly included a lot of fresh vegetables. Uh uh. More like mixed frozen vegetables from BirdsEye. The tough portions of the asparagus you don't use, or just use for soup? Got those in there too. The food was not very flavorful. Not a lot going on with any herbs or spices. It wasn't poisonous, but this was diner food. At one point, while I was eating dinner, a waitress bumped - HARD - into my elbow as she charged by with dishes, heading to the kitchen. Just in case I thought I was going to extend my elbow a little while I was eating, she persuaded me otherwise. She just looked at me and kept going. Not a word. As for ambiance? Well, they have a piano player, but let's keep the TVs on with the game too. The lady behind me blasting noise on You Tube for her friends was not enjoyable either. In short, this is a local diner. I don't even know where to begin in this review...wow. This establishment provided excellent service and amazing, high quality Italian cuisine. The prices make the food a steal. Everything is made from scratch and it is a family run establishment. We tried the cheese ravioli, lasagna, risotto, gnocchi, and meatballs. Of course, we also ordered a cannoli which was perfect. Recently had dinner with a large work group at Bella Costa. Our group was approximately 25 people, so we had a limited menu from the restaurant, which was fine. Appetizers - we had several appetizers, laid out buffet style so that we could basically have a cocktail hour to mingle. This worked out very well, so appreciate the restaurant working with us on that. The actual appetizers were: fried mozzarella, mushrooms stuffed with crab, fried calamari, buffalo cauliflower and...I honestly do not remember the fifth one. I tried the first three and all were very acceptable...nothing flashy or outstanding, but good solid apps. Salad - our limited choices all included a salad. I found the salad to again be good and solid...but nothing outstanding. Entrée - I had the "chef special" which was described as chicken with veggies...and, yes, it had a TON of veggies (broccoli, asparagus, peppers) with several pieces of chicken...a lot of food. As for the taste...the chicken was ok and the veggies were good and crisp. One thing I found lacking...there was no sauce to pull the dish together...some sort of sauce would have helped immensely. Dessert - we could choose between the Tiramisu and Cannoli. I chose the latter and was glad I did...the Tiramisu looked totally unappetizing on the plate. The Cannoli was, as this restaurant proved over and over, solid...nothing great, but not bad. Service - we had good service all in all...given the size of the group and the complexity. The salads, entrees and desserts all came out in good order and were delivered efficiently. So...would I go back? With all of the other choices in the area...probably not... read more

We ordered take-out tonight and we were very pleased with all four orders. We order their Limone pasta with shrimp and I explained that I would love "extra" since I have hearty young sons who eat a lot! They let me order 4 extra shrimp at $3 each and the meal was devoured (The meal comes with 5 jumbo shrimp!) ! It must have been delicious because the 18-year-old never came up for a breath! The other son was home from college for the night and he ordered chicken parm with pappardelle. He enjoyed the meal, the chicken did not require a knife and did not taste fried. It was lightly fried and baked with tomato sauce and cheese. He enjoyed the homemade pasta and gave the meal 5 stars! My husband ordered the lasagna with meat sauce and it was the perfect combination of homemade pasta sheets, ricotta (just the right amount), and covered in a robust meat sauce. The sauce was a smooth tomato flavor and not overly chunky- tomatoes were blended. Finally, I tried the Chef's Harvest Special: sautéed chicken with pumpkin and sage ravioli, prosciutto, figs, and fresh garlic in a sherry cream. The chicken was so tender and did not require a knife, the sage ravioli was filled with sage and it was the perfect pocket of ravioli with subtle flavorings of sage and complimented with the pumpkin taste and texture. The prosciutto, fig and sherry cream sauce was decadent but not so rich that it would create stomach havoc! The entire meal was exactly what we were looking for...they also provide plenty of bread and grated parmesan cheese. Highly recommend! The only downside is trying to find parking- they are busy and the lot is small. read more

I have been wanting to come here for a long, long time, and have had a craving for a good salad topped with grilled salmon. A friend recommended Bella Costa and I leapt at the suggestion. I ordered some garlic bread, calamari (which i feared for because of the take-out box factor of steam and sogginess, but had to try after reading some good reviews) and their salmon salad. It was all amazing. Garlic bread was perfect (and super tasty with the side marinara that came with the calamari), calamari surprised and impressed me, and the salmon salad was exactly what I'd been wanting (for a very long time). When I had gone to pick up my order I had a pleasant conversation with a friendly gentleman who was was a repeat customer. He was also getting salmon (the broiled, which he said was very good). When I went to pick up my order I was informed he had picked up the tab for my order. Now this could obviously bias my whole experience, but I think it at least speaks volumes for this restaurant: a regular customer wanting to share the food experience with a new patron in such a kind fashion. On our last trip to Boston we dined here and the food was pretty good but not so good this time They started by bringing 4 pieces of stale bread We ordered the chefs chicken special which contains chicken in a white wine sauce over pasta with vegetables--sounded good The server Jen said there is so much chicken it would be enough for two--great!! I also didn't like two of the veggies and she said we could substitute--great again--we asked for extra spinach When the food came( long wait) there were 4 small chicken pieces and no extra spinach We told Jen we didn't get the extra spinach promised and she responded she told the kitchen to add extra spinach and there is nothing she could do and she was sorry Bad customer service!! I went here for lunch with 12 coworkers a week ago. I was extremely impressed! The food, fantastic, and we got out within an hour! By no means is this a small feat. I got the eggplant Parmesan sandwich, super yummy. You'd be good getting anything here. Entrees about 10 after. Server put food down said nothing and left. She was also the bartender and taking phone orders. I counted 4 other staff out front so it was weird. She finally came back after us looking in her direction for 5-7 minutes so we could ask for ketchup, water refills, and a missing side. The handmade pasta is good. Everything else was eh. Yum yum gnocchi! Love this place. Takeout is always quick and tasty. The gnocchi are a bit denser than others I've had, but still very enjoyable and some of my favorite in the area. The parking lot is a bit hectic, but that't not really their problem - just a lot of businesses sharing a small amount of parking. read more
