So I'm as shocked as you are that I'm giving this place 5 stars. As a jersey Italian, I was expecting the worst, but this was the only restaurant open on 4th of July. I was delighted. Service was exceptional. Between two choices, the waitress suggested the Gnocchi Rose, and it came out bubbling. It was delicious, and did not disappoint. I almost forgot to mention that they serve warm bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was to die for. The place is really cute on the inside and perfect for a date. I had come from hiking, and it was empty with no apparent dress code. I also had a tiramisu which was a bit small but still delicious. The prices aren't terrible and the food is incredible. I would come back here, and the owner is Italian which I guessed by the quality of the food. read more

Tried the Penne alla Vodka with chicken, Pollo Marsala and Carbonara. The Penne alla Vodka had a tomato cream sauce. Sauce was slightly spicy which went well with the sweet and touch of sour flavor from the cream and the tomato. The penne pasta was cooked al dente. The chicken coast extra $3; good but there's some tough spots. Dish was yummy. The Pollo Marsala came with 2 pieces of tender chicken fillets and linguine pasta; both bathed with yummy wine sauce and topped with cremini mishrooms. Sauce was sweet with a hint of the mushroom flavor. Also yummy dish. The Carbonara looked like it had bacon instead of the traditional pancetta. The sauce was creamy but could use a little salt. Had a taste of butter. I like this one the least. They give complimentary Italian bread, butter and olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Bread was soft; didn't taste sweet compared to other Italian bread I've had. Didn't wait long for the food. Prices were reasonable especially for the size and yumminess of the entrees. The staff were nice and patient as we took a few minutes to look at the menu. The dining room was comfortable and bright. read more

The spaghetti here is very good. Even my picky relative ate all of hers. The service was ok. The waiter didn't know which beers were on tap or where they were from because they didn't drink, but it seemed odd that they didn't know that for the customer base. It felt a little like we were bugging them to ask about it them. The restaurant definitely feels like it used to be a Perkins or Elmer's or other sort of diner. They've tried to level up with linen tablecloths and napkins, Italian music and a color scheme. It's workable. The pricing is a little higher than what you would expect given the environment but the food was decent. I have one complaint - they serve sliced white bread - like wonder bread - in a basket with oil and vinegar. It just doesn't match the vibe or flavors or textures you would expect. As a sourdough baker this felt lacking. Otherwise kudos. I've heard nothing but good things from friends in the area too. read more

Ate dinner here while staying in town for vacation and had a really good experience. We had been craving Italian food and thankfully found this place. It was rated as the best Italian restaurant in the Flathead area and it was easy to see why. The food was excellent. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. The portion was a good size and had great flavor. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was really pleasant and the service was good. Lobster ravioli and penne bolognese were delicious - Italian supertuscan wine was great - started with Caesar salad and calamari ... honestly we were shocked at how delicious it was for an Italian spot on US Hwy 2 ... we will definitely be back! Went for valentines dinner Husband's filet mignon was overcooked and so tough-inedible! I ordered the ribeye..it was a thin fatty tough slab of something....sent it back and got another one tough and fatty the same way ...pasta side was cold and dry. Expensive crap! Came in on a Friday night around 7 and grabbed two seats at the bar. Cute Italian decor in downtown Kalispell. They have a good wine and beer selection. We both enjoyed a nice glass of Italian wine. Service was fast and very friendly. The food wasn't great. Stuffed mushrooms tasted okay because they were covered in sauce and cheese. But the stuffing itself wasn't good. Our salad was inedible - which I find difficult to do with salad. Would not recommend ordering the arugula Caesar. Penne allá vodka was pretty tasty. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is time warp back to 1960s-70s elegant Americana with classic leather booths, classic artworks, warm dimly lit mood lighting, and other touches. Service was friendly overall. Wine bottles can be had for $30. $13 Cesare Salad...its an upscale Cesar salad, with a very flavorful and robust dressing! It's also huge! Enough for 2 people, maybe even 3? $18 Gnocchi Rose Pasta...a unique rich creamy red sauce with tasty fluffy gnocchi, delicious! I added 3 beefy meatballs for only $5(WORTH IT!), and $3 broccoli for health reasons. Total of $26, but well worth it and so filling! $19 Gnocchi Gorgonzola...exactly how it sounds! It was really good one of the best Italian places in town.We got fettuccini,spaghetti with meat sauce,gnocchi,and buttered noodles it was all so good and rich the people were nice our servers name was Hanna she was so nice and she came back whenever we needed something.We also got tiramisu that was delicious definitely one of the best I have ever had it was probably made for one person but it was still really good.It was also very cozy when we walked in they had nice Christmas music and decorations you should definitely come here. read more

My wife and I really enjoy coming here. They have an incredible menu and whenever we are considering where we are going to grab dinner Bella Italia is one of our top choices. If I could recommend one addition to the menu it would be get burrata! Otherwise this place is amazing! Highly recommend. Service is great and has a bit of a family feel. Probably because many of the staff are family members. I do think if they did a remodel they could take the restaurant to a whole nother level! Total ripoff. Let's start with timing: 20 minutes past due time, especially when a customer got there 15 minutes early to ensure promptness on their part, is ridiculous. Then this food. This is a joke, right? $40 for two appetizers that are this tiny? The calamari made me laugh but mostly because it is billed as being fried to "golden brown" and both what we received and what is on the website are clearly pale. That isn't a big deal, just laughable. The fact we were given itty bitty pieces, and so few, is the real problem. Then there's the mushrooms. These tiny little monstrosities cost $16. They aren't even the size of quarters. It's ridiculous. Then they're bathed in more sauce than they have substance to themselves. The sauce makes them taste like spaghetti, not stuffed mushrooms. Even my spaghetti loving husband thought they were awful rip offs. Personally, I hate spaghetti so I thought they were gross all around. I'm glad I only paid $1.50 for the "homemade bread" that tastes like the $1 loaves from Walmart. It was cold, not fresh, nothing special at all, and served with generic butter that was also cold, therefore the two didn't mesh. Overall, I can't imagine they were busy enough to warrant such a late timing on bringing out our order because it wasn't even close to being worth having. read more

We tried this place last night and were pleasantly surprised. We have been looking for good Italian for awhile and this is it. The service by Pepe was great and the food was awesome. We had three entree's and all were equally good. The only thing that I wished was they asked if you wanted Parmesan on your food. Also it was our 25th anniversary and we told the waiter and I was surprised they didn't offer a dessert. All in all we will be back again. read more

Looking for a a breakfast place for nine of us on a Sunday morning can be a challenge as we found out when one nice random gentleman suggested Bella. We LOVE their dinner cuisine and had forgotten they were serving breakfasts as well. They have a separate room that is conducive to larger groups and after calling ahead they had our table all set up (we were lucky they had availability). Monica, our server, was very pleasant, efficient, and handled our group beautifully! The meals ALL came out at the same time, hot, and delicious. Pricing was comparable to other places. First time here was for our son's birthday dinner. Started out with bread, vinegar, and oil, tested alright. It's bread. We ordered 2 Calamari appetizers, which we were glad we did because there was 6 of us and portions were small. Definitely could portion more for the price. We shared a bottle of wine, which I'm not a huge fan of red but tasted okay. Everyone ordered something different and it looked good for the most part. I had the Fettuccine Aspargi. It was delicious. The sauce, chicken, asparagus, just complimented each other wonderfully. Everyone said their entrees were good, so I'll take their word for it. Overall, service was wonderful and we were well attended too. It's a nice setup as it's not too cluttered and overcrowded feeling. We will definitely be going back. While the food was good, the portions were quite small. None of our dishes came with a salad. My mom's chicken parm had a hair in it. We had them remake her dish. That meant we were all finished with our meal when she got hers. They offered NO discount! We try to eat at local places while traveling... I should've looked for an Olive Garden. read more

Shocked when sandwich arrived on regular white bread with ONE thin deli slice of turkey, ONE thin slice of deli cheese, a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce in the middle of the plate. Thought it was a joke, but nope! $12.95!!!! Plus the $2 for the side salad! A 5 year old could have made it better! The waitress was embarrassed to serve it!! My friend got the Veggie omlet & though it was very flat (no fluffy eggs) it was ok. It came with 2 large slices of sourdough & a nice cup of fresh fruit. $13.95. I have to say I had the MOST wonderful experience at dinner last night (August 6th). It was a very special evening for m because I was celebrating my son's 53 birthday. He passed away in 2017. His favorite meal was linguini and clams. The first order was not what I thought it was and was done in tomato sauce. My heart was broken but did not want to say anything. So my 2 friends said somthing and the owner came out said he would make me a new dish. When he brought it to me my eyes were full of tears. It was BEAUTIFUL.
