This review is for a dine-in dinner experience. We did not try the pizza. Still on the hunt for a decent lasagna at a casual restaurant in Knoxville, we decided to give Bella Roma a shot. If you like cheese, you're in luck. First, when you walk in, you walk up to the counter and you'll be told to choose any table, read the menu that's at the table, and then go back up to the counter to order. You pay when you order, which is weird because how do you decide on a tip when all you did was seat yourself, not get any real answers when asking about menu items, and walked to the counter to order your own food? Then you have to get your own drink from the machine. There's not really any kind of table service except when they bring your food. Newsflash ... the "service" isn't worth 20%. The food came out fairly quickly and each of our entrees came with 3 breadsticks each, served in to-go containers. My husband also ordered chicken wings from the appetizer menu, which came out at the same time as the rest of the meal. That makes sense for a to-go order, but for dining in, it's nice to get the appetizer first. My daughter got the meatball sub. It was so overloaded with cheese, she had to pull much of it off and couldn't eat the whole thing. The ratio of meatball to cheese to too-large bun was way off. She said it also could have used more sauce. My husband ordered lasagna and he liked it. It was a smaller portion than I imagined it would be. (He ate his three breadsticks and two of mine to fill up.) It came topped and overloaded with cheese, hiding the smaller size of the portion of lasagna. I had eggplant rollatini (they don't call it that - they call it eggplant roll ups). There was so much cheese I was sick to my stomach after going home. The dish was tasty, but again too heavily loaded down with cheese. There wasn't enough sauce to even dip in the breadsticks. If you get entrees, order a side of sauce for the breadsticks, which are soft and warm. Very nice. The flavor was good but I can't get past the heavy cheese situation here. That combined with the lack of service and I'd suggest ordering a pizza and taking it home. You may have a better experience, especially if you're crazy for cheese. I'd say 2.5 stars. read more

Food is delicious, but...order was shorted a small cheese pizza. We ordered a baked ziti, 2 calzones, and an order of cinnamon sticks along with the small cheese pizza. We called once we realized they didn't put the small cheese pizza in, and was basically told "you didn't order that". Never again!! Hadn't been here in a long time. Probably close to 8 years, but I always remembered it being good. My wife and I ate in and got the Greek salad and Buffalo chicken pan pizza. All so good. Greek salad was really big with delicious dressing and toppings. As for the buffalo chicken pizza I've never found a better one. It's so good here and everytime I get one somewhere else I compare it to here. We were the only two in the restaurant but service was great. Causal and easy and the worker was super friendly. Ordered delivery and the food was still fresh! I had mozzarella sticks that were still crispy and warm and ordered a personal healthy choice feta pizza. The cheese was still melted and the crust was still crunchy. The delivery guy was also very friendly and actually delivered to my door unlike others that stay outside. As for the taste, I do not usually eat pizza that is not brick oven but I can see why people would enjoy pizza from here. Our office enjoys ordering from Bella Roma! The food is always hot and fresh when it arrives! Ordering is always a breeze (even when dealing with multiple individual orders and payment methods). Service is very friendly and fast over the phone. Their calzones are large and at a decent cost too! For me, I can always make two meals out of them. My favorite is the White spinach, which I like to add a few extra toppings in there too ( like black olives or tomatoes). Tasteless, the sauce is basically tomato and sugar. They sprinkle a little seasonings on the top of the entire meal, but it is still so plain. The bread sticks are also hard and plain. As a group, we ordered their spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, fried ravioli, fried mushrooms and a kids spaghetti. ALL were without flavor. Next time we want food this bad we'll buy jarred sauce from the grocery store and it will be so much better than this!!!!!! Stay far away from this place read more

This was a complete waste of time and money. The pizza was not fresh at all. They did not have cheese or pepperoni pizza, so my children just had pasta. We waited and hoped for fresher, better options. Unfortunately, we waited for nothing, as the options remained the same. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:00 PM and half of the pans were empty. By the time we left, around 12:45, all the pans were empty. They did not replace any pans with fresh baked pizza. This made the "All you can eat buffet" more like a "pick the scraps buffet." Not to mention, there were multiple empty tables with food left on them and at no time did anyone appear to be cleaning. My family and I will never eat here again and we highly suggest that nobody else does either. My only hope for this restaurant is that it shuts down and a better one opens in its place. read more

Great pizza! All of the staff members are always nice except for the host that answered the phone on 8/25/21. She's very rude. I was having difficulty finding my card to PAY over the phone and I guess this upset her, before hanging up the phone I heard her groan very loudly and say "oh my god!" and started to talk negatively about me to her coworkers. Next time she chooses to complain about customers that take to long to pay which helps her stay employed...she should make sure the call has completely ended. read more
