I was a loyal customer of Bella Rosa pizzeria for years. Ordered a big signature pizza on May 10th for Mothers Day and requested NO bell peppers for about 2 slices plus and napkins with utensils. They did not put any sweet bell peppers at all and ignored napkins/utensils all together. Pizza quality at this place is gradually down the hill so foe me Bella Rosa is now loosing its 'go to' status. Very sad. read more

Great little hole in wall. Offers plenty of parking and cost environment with ample tables and booths. They offer Italian and Portuguese cuisine and have weekly specials as well. We had steamed clams which were fresh and large size with fresh warm butter for dipping. The fried calamari was very good too. Tender and not chewy at all. Lightly breaded with very good flavor. Also tried the Portuguese sausage appetizer which comes out on fire and you grill it a bit had very nice flavor profile. Stopped here for lunch, and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant is small and cozy. It was very clean, and our waitress was awesome. We shared a ceasar salad, which was so good. Been here countless of times and always coming back for sit down dinner or their pizza! They renovated the place awhile back elevating the dinning experience. Our waitress was running the whole floor and taking phone calls and she did an amazing job. Started with the calamari which was pipping hot and had a good crunch. I ended up trying the spicy rigatoni with cutlet chicken - oh man I wish I had more room in my stomach for more bites! Now I get to enjoy it for dinner again! Hubby and I ordered from Bella Rosa tonight. Hubby had the cheese pizza and I enjoyed the Lula Grelhadas. My meal was succulent. The calamari was tender and the broccoli rabe had just the right amount of garlic. The piece de resistance was hubby's pizza crust. I've been to this place one other time, and that first visit is the only reason why they're getting 4 stars instead of 5. Damn was it close, though. I'd dish out (see what I did there) a half star if I could, but alas, 4 stars it is. At my first visit I ordered pizza, garlic bread and penne alla vodka. The pasta was too under, and the sauce hadn't quite been cooked long enough to burn off that intense nostril clearing vodka taste. The pizza and bread were each fantastic, however, which is what brought us back today. After an unexpected complication with my health today cooking was not happening. So, my wonderful boyfriend offered to drive us to dinner and we landed at Bella Rosa to satisfy his pizza craving. We were not disappointed. After a recent total let down by another local pizza place I had to order a margherita pizza to raise my love for it back from the dead. My god am I glad that I did, because Bella Rosa knocked it out of the park. The tomatoes are roasted until they're nice and tender, the crust has the perfect crunch, the cheese is cooked exactly right and the fresh basil pushes it over the edge into pizza fantasy land. We also ordered cheesy garlic bread and your standard pepperoni, which by the way was far superior to any other CT pizza joint this relocated New Yorker has come into contact with. Stopped by and placed my takeout order while sitting in the parking lot. I have never been here but pass by it daily. It was dinner time on a tuesday and the girl on phone said 15 mins. Pulled in to this hole-in-the-wall on a whim, and was rewarded with an absolutely BANGIN white pizza with broccoli rabe, garlic, and sausage. This pie is so good it should be sold under prescription only. Greek style crust which I'm not usually a fan of, but in this case it was the perfect vehicle for perfectly prepared broccoli rabe, excellent sausage, and just the right balance of salty, cheesy, and garlicky . Years ago I had several terrible experiences here. HOWEVER I tried twice recently and a huge turnaround. People courteous, food extremely tasty and fresh, prices more than reasonable, and delivery time amazing. Salad huge, grinders loaded with meat and one calzone gave me three meals and super tasty. Someone said they have the best eggplant grinder in town - I was skeptical and tried it several times. When it's hot and fresh it is the best eggplant grinder in town. Cold antipasto pretty generic but oh man that eggplant grinder (no peppers) was really really good. Those are the only two items I have tried. read more
