Right when we walked in someone from behind the counter greeted us. There were two waitresses and a waiter on that night who were helping each other out. The entire wait staff was nice and friendly. The style of the restaurant is homey greek / italian. Simple tables and decorations which I like. We started out with calamari with Gorgonzola, and peppers. Most of it was very good but some pieces good have been crispier. Next we were brought warm already buttered bread! This made me so happy!! So many restaurants have stopped giving bread. I really love getting bread. Our dinner orders - Mine - Angel hair pasta with butter sauce and two meatballs with sauce. The angel hair was good perfect. The meatballs were a bit firmer than I like. But we're big and delicious. My husband ordered chicken parm also with angel hair. The chicken parm wasn't made with a cutlets as it was thicker. However my husband liked it that way. Have been on a tour de force of Greek Style pizza restaurants in Connecticut and stopped into Country Pizza & Restaurant today. Ordered a medium cheese, medium sausage & pepperoni and a medium mushroom & onion. Extra cheese on each. I shared the pizzas with family. And we absolutely loved County's version of pan made Greek pizza. Easy five stars and definitely one of the very best I've tried. read more

Never again. I've been here twice in the last few months and their ability to f-up an order is vast and deep. A few months ago in a hurry on my way home ordered a pizza and was told 20 minutes- perfect as I was about 20 minutes away. I arrive and they have no pizza ready. I said I just ordered it 30 minutes ago. They look around and find the slip by the phone. Now I wait 30 minutes for the pie. Today I stopped by and ordered a meatball grinder and an eggplant grinder. Took 20 minutes ‍. I get home and I have a meatball sub and a chicken cutlet sub. They are fing dense and do not pay attention. Nice lady but f them I'm gone. read more

I heard many good reviews about Country Pizza so I gave it a try; stopped in on NYE around 330p. The place reminds me a little of Vinny's Pizza in Bridgeport once you walk in. You can smell the brick oven pizza right away. The inside restaurant has seating for about 30 patrons comfortably. Our food came out in about ten minutes. Portions were generous and reasonably priced. The biggest kudos I want to give is for our waitress; she was the only waitstaff working in the dining area that afternoon & she is to be commended. The hard-to-find Choc-o-chip 3 pack of cookies at the register is a must purchase item. I will definitely return. read more

Having lived in the area my whole life I can't believe last week was the first time I ever ate here. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside but is very cozy. The wait staff is friendly and the pizza we ordered was the best I've had in a very long time. My wife and I shared a large pie and had plenty to take home. I dislike writing negative reviews if the staff is warm and wonderful as is the case here so I wont. In the case of Country Pizza, I have never been a regular only because I don't like Greek style pizza all that much. It's warm and cozy inside. country's been around forever and I know alot of people who love it here. But everyone has different taste buds. I prefer New York style thin pizza (although I am a big fan of Uno's Deep Dish). But in general I prefer New York style. There's nothing wrong with Country's except it's way thicker then I prefer. If you are someone who likes pizza..the thicker the better..you will most likely love Country's. I will say it is tough to find the type of pizza that I prefer in Monroe. 90 Percent of it seems to be the opposite. My favorite pizza place in Conn is Franco's in Newtown but most of the ones in Monroe seem to skew toward Greek style. Now their bread is good. And the tables and seating is comfy. And they do offer dinners and other types of food besides pizza although they are primarily known for their pizza. read more

This place was the only takeout option last night that was opened around 9pm from being on our way home from boating all day. I called and ordered two grinders my friend and I. One chicken parmigiana on garlic bread with light sauce. Another meatball on garlic bread light on the the sauce as well. The gentleman that took the phone order couldn't grasp the fact I wanted both grinders on garlic bread. I had to repeat myself at least 3 or 4 times. When we arrived to pick them up, I felt as I entered through the door the restaurant had a prehistoric feel to it. The place has not been up updated since the 1980s and I felt like I was in middle of a Flinstone's episode. The guy behind the counter who I think was the owner, commented on my order and said I didn't know what you meant so I just put fresh garlic on both grinders. We didn't say anything as we just wanted to get home eat. Nonetheless both grinders were tasteless and we had to doctor them up at home. For $11.00 each they could of had more flavor. We were also disappointed that they weren't on garlic bread like we asked. For the rest of the night I was burping garlic and probably could kill a vampire with my breath. Been living here for years and finally tried Country Pizza. We really liked it. The crust was cooked to a perfect golden brown. Just the right amount of sauce and it was very flavorful. With all the pizza places around here, we just had not tried. It's Greek style pizza and we used to go to Old Towne for that but the quality there has gone downhill the last few visits. Small Italian restaurant that seems to be on the corner of the main strip in Monroe much closer to residential offers ample parking and does take credit card. We ordered take out and there is an option to order online I opted to call my order in as it was late at night. The online prices were different than I was charged so that took me back a bit. I ordered a child size spaghetti and meatballs, salad w grilled chicken and fettuccine Alfredo. Maybe it was due to late night and they were about to close staff was lack luster and ready to leave. The grilled chicken salad was ok it was missing ingredients that were posted in menu description and the chicken was cold, the fettuccine was huge portion and sauce was nice the chicken was good too and my son enjoyed his spaghetti and meatballs. May try again for a slice of pizza or something small hopefully they were just having an off night. read more

Country Pizza is a little family-owned pizzeria in the business district of Monroe. Their main strength is a pizza that is unlike anyone else's with a thick, sweet, bready crust and plenty of both sauce and cheese. Toppings, when ordered, are also generous. Expect a single pie to be far more filling than other places. And the staff is always friendly and helpful. Salads and appetizers are also good. The two primary downsides are parking - the lot is a strange shape so if you come during busy times it can be very hard to get in and out and find a useable spot - and the decor which hasn't changed in 25 years and frankly looks a bit worn and dated. But I am happy to ignore both of these for good pizza. read more

This pizza spot is one of the best in the area. The prices are good the pizza is so good. They put tons of cheese and toppings on it, What ever you like. The place is family run and operated. They have great calzones too. When you go in the pizza smells fill the restaraunt. I come here every time I'm in town.
