Prior to seeing Dr Carstairs I was in the middle of moving to this area and trying to get an appointment from my former dentist because I had sharp pains coming from my back molar. I just saw Dr. Carstairs for an emergency appointment to recement a crown (that had been done several years ago by someone else.) He really took his time making sure it would fit correctly and hopefully be a long-lasting fix to avoid having to replace the crown too soon. Do not understand why a business cannot return a simple phone call. Just wanted to find out if new patients are being accepted. Not even a call back. C'mon, I work in a facility with 150+ residents who all could use dental care, now I can pass the word on not to bother with this place. Dr. Carstairs is FANTASTIC!! I had the worse ever tooth ache on a Saturday. I didn't want to bother him on the weekend, but I decided to leave a message. He called back almost immediately and tried to diagnose the problem. He gave me a prescription that I had filled and it helped. Then, to my surprise, he called me on Sunday afternoon to follow up and invited me to come to his office where he did a very thorough exam. Another prescription and more improvement. WOW, a Saturday consultation and a SUNDAY office visit. I highly recommend Dr. Carstairs. He is very professional, knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly and in English. I worked for a general dentist for 15 years (also where all my treatment was done) and didn't think I would be able to find a dentist that would provide the same comfort. I FOUND HIM!! I just had my first visit with Dr. Carstairs and he was wonderful...professional, caring, explaining everything very thoroughly and he is so kind. Assistant Mickey was also thoughtful and very nice. I went to Eclipse Dentistry after reading the positive reviews on Yelp. So glad I did! I needed a cleaning after not being able to schedule with my regular dentist. Dr Carstairs actually took the time to sit down and talk with me before doing x-rays, cancer screening and pictures. Then he went over everything thoroughly and discussed some concerns and options before cleaning my teeth. He was very gentle and the whole experience was comfortable and painless. The staff was friendly and professional and had contacted my insurance so were able to tell me any costs that would be associated with treatments. I live in Orange County, but drive all the way to the desert to see Dr. Carstairs. By far, he is the best dentist that I have ever gone to see. Dr. Carstairs is professional, pleasant and very knowledgeable. Luckily, I've only needed to have cleanings, xrays, and exams by him, but if I ever did need more, I would trust him completely. I needed a new dentist in this area and chose Eclipse from an ad they had placed in the Sun City Shadow hills community magazine. Dr Carstairs is very personable and really has your best interest in mind. He does a very comprehensive exam and cleaning and doesn't oversell anything as a lot of dentists do. He goes over everything with you from the X-rays to photos of your teeth to show you where potential problems are. I highly recommend his practice. My tooth broke the Friday before Memorial Weekend and of course most dental places had already closed or was not available until 5 days later. Luckily my bestfriend recommended Dr. Carstairs at Eclipse Dentistry in La Quinta. The awesome Renee answered the phone and was able to book an appointment for me that day. The office is impeccably clean and bright, not your typical gloomy dental office. Dr. Carstairs had great bedside manners and was able to calmly settle my nerves since I get anxious with any kind of dental work done on me. He was fast and efficient and yes, I did not feel any pain with putting a new temporary crown on my tooth.
