Picked up three 6oz filet mignons yesterday ($50). They were cut fresh when I ordered and let me tell ya, the hand trim was excellent! I also got some marinated feta with olives and two other dips/ crackers. All very good! Would definitely be back! read more

Was finally able to get the smoked whitefish pate (been trying for three years but always sold out) and it was worth the multiple attempts to finally get it! Service there was fantastic and Karen, the owner, even let us try some smoked trout. Which we of course got a piece as well. Besides the smoked meats their selection of steaks and homemade sausages are really great! This is a staple place to go on my annual family trips up from Ohio. read more

This is a great place, they have quite a variety of meats and sausages, definitely a place for the meat lover. Be sure you go to the building in the alley behind the house that has the sign. We actually walked through the house before we realized we were not in the business. Otherwise they are very accommodating. read more

The smoked whitefish dip is really great but so was the bacon and smoked pork. My wife has celiacs and they were able to be very specific about gluten in all of their products. For sure worth a stop. read more

Find a better smoked meats provider, I dare you. It's local. It's fresh, you can't ask for much more. The Bellaire Smokehouse is a converted garage that you drive up to in a small alleyway. The Owners live in the Victorian house in the front, so you know it's a real mom and pop operation. The owners are super helpful and can help you find the perfect item. Smoked wise the bacon, and various sausages are some of the highlights. They also have normal butcher items like steaks and poultry from time to time as well. The real highlight here though, is the smoked fish. In the land of whitefish and walleye, it's nice to find a purveyor of the goods that re so plentiful. Try a piece of smoked salmon, or trout. But whatever you do BE SURE to get some of the whitefish sausage. This is a unique item, and frankly, one of the best things I can say I've eaten in a while. When I swing into town, this is usually my second stop, after picking up some Short's beer that is. But what makes that plan even better is that the Smokehouse has a small selection of craft and specialty beers that pair with the smoked good quite well. If you're entertaining, pick up a white-fish or salmon pate to kick the party off right. Along with the meats, they have a good selection of cheese, crackers and other snacks to make for a wonderful day out on the boat. read more

This wonderful 'up north' establishment is more than a place to get outrageously wonderful smoked delights- it is a landmark. A trip to the region is NOT complete without stopping for a pound of smoked whitefish dip (that will run you more than $17.00). Yes, the smoked salmon is good but the whitefish will make memories for your family - because you'll be talking about it forever. Problem is most of my dip never makes it home because I open it immediately in the car and dip just about anything I have available in it to move it to my mouth. Yum. Meant to post this back in October 2018. BEST GOOGLE SCREW UP EVER! My GF at the time and I were doing a google search for book stores, but google knew I was a fat kid and pulled this place up. Now, I would have ignored the botch, but the words jerkey and smoked cheese came up on screen, so 10 minutes later I am at the Smokehouse. Karen was awesome. Her suggestions were on point, and as my Girl and I were visiting from down state, we were invited to an Octoberfest block party that the Smokehouse staff puts on annualy. We left with not only the party invite, but with recomme dations for stuff. To do in Traverse City, awesme cheese, jerkey, whitfish sausage, souvenirs, and even made some new friends. One of the fondest memories of my trip. The product is fresh, and even though the shop is well off the beaten path, it is wrll worth the journey. read more

This place is not easy to find. You go down the alley to the little shop which is behind the house. (aka garage building). It's a family run place and has the best jerky I've ever had! He has a few different flavors. Great white fish pate too, totally yummy! They have some wine, a great selection of micro brewed beers, lovely cheeses, crackers and off an on various other little snacks. I highly recommend it! They carry fresh steaks, brats and things like that too. They will special order meat for you too, in case you need something special. Oh yes, and they will ship it too! I wrote this first a few years ago but the place has only gotten better. Everything I've ever had there is absolutely delicious! The meat is fresh and the sausages are to die for. My favorites are still the white fish pate and the various beef jerky flavors. Go there... Tim and Karen now have a sign out front too and oh yeah, they have a bunch of special beers as well! read more

AHHH! This was my favorite stop on our trip up north. If you are seeking smoked animals, then head on over to Bellaire Smokehouse. This shop is actually in the back of a residential house, and it's a bit off the main drag of Bellaire. It's worth the trip. Their smoked whitefish is incredible (best I've ever had) and we bought a pound of it for $8. Crazy. That would have probably cost at least $20 in Chicago. We also got some wine and beef jerky. The people behind the counter were super nice and helpful, and I'd highly recommend Bellaire's Smokehouse to anyone in the area. There's really something for everyone here. read more

You really can't go wrong here. They have the best of everything. Really. I have had several of the salamis, cheeses, hunter sausage, summer sausage and steaks. Everything has been great. Support local business and shop here. The cat definitely approves. The more expensive the cheese, the more she begs for it. Very friendly staff too. One of our favorite places to stop when in Bellaire. Just a little outside of downtown and next to Sassy Sunflower. My husbands LOVES their jerky and my daughter loves their whitefish pate. Today we tried a couple new items for us-the Smoked Trout and the Whitefish Sausage...PHENOMENAL!! (especially the sausage). If you're a fan of smoke, meat, cheese, beer, and wine, this is the place for you. The whitefish sausage is delicious and the pate is always a big hit. You'll also find smoked fish, summer sausage, jerky, and nice cuts of beef, etc, etc. For me though, the shining star was the small but excellent selection of craft beer. Since this is up north and seems to be quite a hidden gem, there are many great finds here, not to mention several verticals that the proprietor seems enjoy aging. Beware of IPA's that might be a little past their prime and if you happen to meet Tim he might have a special treat for you hidden in the cooler. This is a must stop in Bellaire! read more

This is a fantastic place. We really enjoyed the whitefish sausage, but the smoked trout was amazing. And unbelievably friendly service--we had biked to BelleAire from Rapid City, and we were tired. When my wife mentioned this, one of the folks from teh Smokehouse, Jeff, tossed our bikes in his car and drove us back to Alden. Way above and beyond the call. Heartily recommend. read more

Mustard salami is outstanding as is the jerky. They will custom cut meat for you, have wonderful fish pate, smoked fish, etc. if you are near Bellaire and do not stop here to try them out you are missing out on a treat. read more

Wonderful little place. We picked up meats, cheeses, and bread for a picnic later on the beach. The woman working was very helpful and gave us a small bag of ice for our cooler. Everything was very tasty. Our favorite was the smoked salmon absolutely wonderful. read more
