Our neighbors told us about Bella's and since we are always looking for a tasty burger (look, I've got needs), we figured we'd give it a try. We went on a weeknight for a quick dinner. For $20 total it was good. I liked the cheese sauce and the burger was hot and juicy. The fries and onion rings were good. They had Boylan's soda on tap, which I really like. personally, I would have preferred if the burger was slightly larger; my guess it was 4-5oz and 6-7 oz. would have been more satisfying. The skate/surf theme doesn't fit Ridge NJ. For a local shack, this place was fine. For a quick burger and fries, it hit the spot. I'll stop in again. read more

Aside from having the single worst signage ever...Bella's is now one of my favorite burger places ever. I LOVE the burgers...all of them...bacon, chili, cheese, whatever...they are all great. And a bargain...with french fries (enough in one order for two large eaters) this place should and I hope is a gold mine. Basking Ridge is a charming suburban village with a small town feel...only 35 minutes from NYC - if you speed late at night - and for this misplaced Philly boy living on a sofa for a short term nearby...it is HEAVEN. The very young, fresh-faced, healthy looking staff (counter and cooks both) you get a welcome and greeting that feels genuine and probably is...they know how good the food is. I am eager eager eager to treat my hosts to Bella's anytime because the typical burger is only about 7 bucks! Run...don't walk...KEEP A KEEN EYE OPEN for the sign...read google maps...it a rotten rotten rotten sign in an obscure parking lot location...but it is worth being a little pissed off finding to have a nifty sandwich and fries. DO NOT drink the fountain soda however unles you LOVE massive amounts of cane sugar roiling through your veins...TOOOO sweet. i can't even remember the name of the stuff...but is is cloying. The Bella burger was tasty but quite small. As others pointed out it's slightly thicker than a fast food burger. The fries were good and plentiful. The tables had malt vinegar which paired nice. For just under $10 it's was pricy for what it was and I was surrounded by never ending fruit flies in the restaurant which bugged me enough to rush through my meal. First off, google maps is going to tell you how to get to the back side of the building. Visualize the block and take 2 left or right turns to go around to the front entrance. The burgers are simply not good. Small, not cooked to temp, generic potato bun. I went with the Bella burger, that had some kind of bad big mac sauce. Not good at all. I also ordered the onion rings, which looked great but tasted awful. The batter was over-fried and too crunchy, with an old oil taste. The saving grace was that the food came out quick and was only $9. No reason to eat here. read more

Not worth it. Burger was dry and under seasoned. Asked for cheeseburger still waiting for the cheese. Also asked for Jalapeños got them from a can. Oh how nice especially when I asked if it were fresh or canned and the guy said fresh. The fries. Who doesn't love a bag of yummy hot out of the fryer and perfectly seasoned potato fries? We all do! Just don't expect to get them here. They were a bit over done and I had a few burnt bits but what really got me was they weren't seasoned! For a $12 burger/fries/drink you expect awesomeness. As I hovered uncomfortably over other diners, hoping they would finish soon so we could score one of the few scarce tables, I grew more excited about the higher-end experience I was about to get. The high price and long lunch rush wait played well into that anticipation. And.... Meh. All was tasty, yet average. Burger to fries ratio is off... Give me more burger and less fries. I got the Bella burger which was a good choice, but it was eaten before I realized it. Fries needed salt and ketchup for every bite - fries should be able to stand on their own for a few bites and never be mushy. Bottom line - average tasting good food but not enough of it for the price I paid. read more

This place is a real teenagers spot. The burgers are decent and so are the hot dogs. I do not prefer the cheese on the hot dogs. It is not very appetizing. The wild bill fountain drinks are amazing. The fries are plentiful but do come hot and made to order. All in all it is a cute little place to get a good burger. I would recommend anyone stop in and check it out. read more

Looking for a different burger from the fast food joints. A little shop in the back of a parking lot opens up to a nice size eatery. Menu nicely displayed above as you walk in. We had the Jersey Burger. Only other place we saw a egg on a burger was down the shore. Burger was cooked the way I liked it. For me, the burger could have been bigger, but it tasted great. The wings were also tasty. We had the sweet and spicy wings. The wings were the perfect size and were very tasty. You won't be disappointed. read more

First time here. From the reviews it sounds like this place is very inconsistent. I must have gotten a good day because the burger was really good. Very juicy. Tasted great. It was a bit small but I was fine with it. The fries are weird. Very fried and after 1/3 of the fries are eaten you're dealing with crumbs. They need to figure this out or it's just not worth it. Service is amateurish but friendly, yes the soda is sugar overload but the burgers,pork and steak sliders and fries are heaven-sent. The ambience here is nice.. I ordered here Chilli Fries as just needed for small appetite and opted for take away. It took a bit to get my order. Being vegetarian and I never expect the fries(The Slides) had meat in it and if it had it, they should clearly mentioned it. And when I went and suggested the person at counter, she didn't have courtesy asking if I can replace the order. I threw the fries then and there. If you like small lettuce burgers, this is your kind of place. Sauces aren't bad, but where's the beef? Tiny burgers for big burger prices, and covered with way too much lettuce so get it without. Everything is average at best here. read more

The Cajun fries will be the death of me. I can't stay away from those things. I'd recommend pretty much everything on the menu. I work in the middle of nowhere so getting out for a lunchtime bite can be challenging. I bookmarked Bella's long before I was ever able to find it. It's snuggled in the corner of a very awkward parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised. Really chill vibe inside. Some Marley playing on the radio. Olympics on the big screen. Super friendly staff greet you as you enter and the food is made to order. Major players are the Bella Burger, chicken cutlet, and Cajun fries (duh). I really hate work, so my lunch hour is very important to me. I spend a couple lunch breaks a week here. I'd encourage people to check this place out. That's of course if you can find it. read more

I had a double bacon cheeseburger for $7.25: 1 medium piece of bacon, a slice of american cheese, 2 3.5" wide hamburger patties. I didnt have any lettuce or onion or pickles on it. No exaggeration: if it was a single burger patty it would not be too much larger than Wendy's Jr Cheeseburger Deluxe and that costs 99 cents! I could have gone to Wendy's and had 7 Jr Cheesburger Deluxes for $7.00!! On the opposite spectrum, I also had an order of french fries for $3.00. They are served in a small brown paper bag. When I removed the fries from the bag and put them on a plate, there were sooo many fries they took up the space on 1/2 of a 13" plate AND were still 3" high!! The sad part: the mile high amount of fries almost caused the burger to not been seen when looking at the plate from the side. Im not someone who is always looking for quantity vs. quality, but there is just something wrong about the above description. read more

EEEK !!! I just went into Bella's and order French Fries only. As I waited, I watched the guy make burgers. He was wearing gloves which was all good & fine BUT the dude went into the drawer, grab a bunch of RAW bloody meat patties, toss them on the grill. Cause he grab liked 5 patties really fast, i saw little pieces of raw meat on his glove. Then he used the same gloved hand to grab salt out of a BOWL of SALT to put on my french fries. Get outta here, how disgusting & UNSAFE. I mean for real, get a damm SALT SHAKER !!!! I walked out leaving fries for some else to get sick on. If you ever get food poising after eating at Bella's, it's the cook cross contaminating with his dirty gloves. 5guys has the same setup, the raw meat is in a drawer, but the difference every time the cook puts raw meat on the grill he changes his glove. read more

Difficult to find, but what a find when you locate it. If you are walking or driving on South FInley Avenue you will not find this place. Just as we were about to give up, we asked a kind local and they directed us to the back of the building, where we found the place. There is a very small unlit wooden sign in the front of the building, but it is hard to spot. The burgers were fantastic. I mean, really, really good, as was the hand cut fresh fries. You can order sliders or full sized burgers with a variety of wonderful toppings, from mushrooms, grilled onions, chili, cheese, etc. All burgers are served on Martin rolls, which are my personal favorite. They only serve WIld Bill's soda, which is also excellent. There is seating, but it fills up fast. There isnt any waitress/waiter service. You place your order and take a seat and wait. It may take a little bit, but it is well worth the wait, as everything is cooked to order. Service was very friendly and these folks go out of there way to make sure that you are satisfied. I can't say enough good things about the place. In my opinion it is worth a road trip to check it out. I am a life-long fan and customer of White Mana but these sliders make White Mana seem like cafeteria food. It's nice to see a place like this open and I wish them well. If you are in the mood for a great burger and some great fries and a great soda to wash it all down, it would be tough to find a better, more satisfying place. read more

The burgers were absolutely fantastic. My burger had the signature "Bella Sauce" which tasted delicious. The sides were great as well, especially the mac n cheese bites. My only complaint was the cost per serving size. The burger was almost as small as a slider and cost around $8. The amount of fries they give you for the price is also low. How do the French fries always end up in a pile of little, .25" bits? I'm sitting at the table with my two kids and we counted four regular length fries and over 100 tiny little bits that, together, make one regular order of fries. This place has the makings of a great burger joint but narrowly misses the mark. The burger was good but not great. They did cook it to a perfect medium rare, and the toppings of bacon, egg, and cheese were pretty decent. But it just lacked that little extra something. For an extra $2 I could have doubled the size of the burger, which seems like a pretty worthwhile deal as the patty was small, though that's probaly something light eaters can appreciate. The hand cut fries were also good but not great. They might want to experiment with other brands of frying oil. Still, at about three bucks the bag of fries was surprisingly big and could easily accomodate two regular appetites. Overall this place was great value for money; with a bottle of water it came out to a little over $10. It's a step up from regular fast food but at least a half step down from the better burger spots in Central Jersey. read more
