This is legitimately some of the best pizza in Portland, and that's saying a lot! Friendly service, and amazing food.

    Focaccia breadsticks

My husband and I visited last week and ordered the focaccia breadsticks and pepperoni pizza. Both were DELIGHTFUL! The sauce tasted so fresh, it was some of the best pizza sauce I had tasted in a while. The crust was also just cheesy and crispy enough without being crunchy. Several people visiting the food cart pod commented on how yummy our food looked and had a little bit of order envy ;) The owner was also absolutely lovely. He was so friendly and it was clear he put a lot of love into our food to make it just perfect. We'll definitely be back soon! PS: I wish I could share a photo of our pizza, but we ate it so quickly that we forgot to capture one :)

Good Detroit inspired pizza. Needs a little more zip and maybe less oil. Generous portions.

One of the best and most beautiful pizzas I've ever had. Thick and also delicately crispy crust. Each bite a reverie. Real nice people too.

We started by splitting a mixed lettuce salad and the burrata. The salad was fresh and had a great dressing. The burrata with the strawberries was mouth-watering. We also had some fresh focaccia bread, and it was so good. Then came the goat-cheese pappardelle and the fettuccine with clams. Both pastas were fabulous. If I had to choose one, the goat cheese was my favorite. My parents and I don't drink alcohol, so we got ginger, soda, and mocktails, which were very refreshing. The service was really good. The place was busy, but the servers seemed very relaxed and proficient. They weren't pushy, but they were there when we needed them and were all very polite. I love the ambiance. It is a large, light, and bright space. There is seating inside and out, and it has very high ceilings. I love the massive bar where you can watch the bartenders make drinks and the wood-fired pizza oven--also a nice touch. My parents had a great time on their anniversary, and we will definitely be back.

Our server, Emma, seemed completely uninterested in providing good service. As soon as we were seated, she immediately wanted to take our order without giving us a chance to review the menu. When the bread service arrived, we requested butter, but it never came until I had to flag her down and ask again. She eventually brought it and offered extra bread for the delay. While explaining the menu, she mentioned that there was a happy hour special available, but the information was unclear and not very helpful. When our pasta arrived, it was completely dry and missing the cheese. We then had to wait quite a while before Emma returned so we could request additional sauce. During that time, she appeared focused on a regular customer who was enjoying multiple wine tastings, while our table was largely ignored. After that, she rarely checked on us. We were interested in ordering dessert, but instead of asking if we wanted anything else, we were simply handed the check. To make matters worse, a 22% gratuity was automatically added for our party of four. I have no issue tipping for good service, but mandatory gratuity for such poor service is frustrating. It felt as though the service standards dropped because the tip was already guaranteed. Great service should never be taken for granted. We were visiting from Houston and were looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately, this experience fell far short of expectations. Based on our visit, I would not recommend this restaurant.

The pork was very tender and popped with flavor, the figs (?) were a great compliment. Broccolini starter and Polenta side were worthy. For the finish, the strawberry Tiramisu was creative delicious. Our friend's $35 prix fixe was also very good, but again, nothing special about the price. Meaning, if you add the ala carte items they total very close to the "special" price. Mule-like cocktail (first listed on the menu) was more than decent, but kinda unmemorable. Service was kind and efficient, while parking was relatively easy.

I ordered the TAGLIATELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE Which was very bland and very aldente (The pasta almost seemed uncooked.) I had to ask for red pepper flakes because our server never checked up on us. My friend ordered the salmon scutch she said was very salty. Another friend ask for some Parmesan to go on top of her pasta can you believe they charged her three dollars for a tiny serving of Parmesan! Compare compared to all the wonderful Italian food restaurants we have in on the east side in Portland like Cibo, A Cena, and Luce, this place bombs!!! Also the waiter messed up our bill and it took them 20 minutes to make corrections. The best part of dinner here was the beet and appetizer and the parking lot. I definitely will not eat here again. It was nothing spectacular and for the price point there are way better places to enjoy an Italian dinner.

I'm not sure I understand how the service is set up, but we never had a dedicated server, it was just the nice lady at the front that checks people in that served us food. Not a huge deal! Menu is teeny tiny, location is teeny tiny, but food is bomb. We started with the endive salad and let me say, if you're a salt lover, you will LOVE THIS. It was exquisite. For our mains, I ordered the Funghi pizza and my friend got the Diavola. They bring your pizza with scissors to cut it which is fun. Pizza was DELISH. Crust is chewy and airy, the toppings are dense and sooooo good. I ate my entire pizza right there Pricing isn't awful, especially seeing how disgusting our economy is right now (no thanks to trump). $35 for a non alcoholic beverage, half salad and whole pizza.

Very fresh basil, a lot lighter than I expected which is what I'd prefer in a white sauce pizza, I don't usually order them because they tend to be heavy. Super unique combination of flavors. On the negative side: The sauce and toppings didn't even come close to far enough out on the pizza. Some of my slices were about 40% crust. Also the most horrible cut I've probably ever gotten, some of the slices were super long, some were tiny and short, some were super wide, some were super skinny. The crust was basically inedible it was so hard. It hurt my teeth just trying to bite through. I would assume Friday nights are probably one of their busiest nights, but I don't think that the food should suffer from a busy night. I'm not sure if this is a common experience or just bad luck for me tonight, but I'm not sure if I'll return again.

I normally don't eat the crust on my pizza without dipping it in some sort of sauce, but I'll eat this straight. And not only is the pizza amazing, so are the drinks and the desserts! Xtina (please forgive me if I've misspelled your name) at the bar is an absolute joy, and head chef Miriam treats you like family when you're in her restaurant. Overall it felt like walking into the kitchen of a friend. Chef Miriam is incredibly down to earth, running around doing a million things and still finds time to greet customers and provide a wonderful atmosphere. The decor itself is lovely, to the right when entering the shop is fairly minimalist with some beautiful marbled countertops at the bar where we sat. To the left you will see their merch displayed with a shirt that doubles as a coupon for a free canoli each time you come in. Starting off the cocktails were very well balanced. I got the cherried away which was a fantastic mixture of sweet at the front depth in the middle and rounded with some slight bitterness from the apertivo to finish the drink off. Absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend. The pizza was delicious with a fantastic balance of flavors that utilized the quality ingredients well with each bite. The dough was heavy, a bit more chewy, and doughy than I typically like but it was delicious. I got the ranch to dip which was just fine. I probably wouldn't get ranch again but try one of the other sauces. Lastly the dessert was the strawberry shortcake week strawberry cannoli. A masterful work of pepper, strawberry, habenaro, vanilla, and happiness all wrapped up into one absolutely stunning dessert. I would highly recommend this pizza home to everybody who enjoys pizza!

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.
