Fast forward from five years ago, and the difference is shocking. Apparently, they now use third-party people for labor, and it's looking like they pick them up at Home Depot on the way to your address. Not only do they show up late, but they make you acknowledge that they arrived and then sit and wait for almost an hour for other people to show up while you are on the clock. To make matters worse, they are very unprofessional and very careless with your belongings. I have never had as much damage to my property as the last time I used this company. Don't bother with the insurance, because if they damage your $10,000 piece of furniture, you will only be paid a couple dollars. That is, if they pay you anything at all. Their usual response is that they will deduct a small amount off of your fee. It is never enough to cover the damage. Unfortunately, they are not what they used to be. read more

Not only were they unprofessional and inefficient, but they also caused damage to my home and furniture and were 3 hours late.!. They joked around, banged into the walls, and even took a gouge out of my floor. My sister-in-law had to intervene to get them to even finish. THEY RUINED MY FAVORITE PIECE OF FURNITURE and dont reply to emails or phone calls! I would not recommend Bellhop as it appears Bellhop has no contingency plan in the event that a truck driver fails to report. The absolute worst moving company I have ever had the displeasure of hiring for my move. They didn't show up and canceled the day of.. after the time they were already supposed to be here. They couldn't even get anyone there the next day so we had to scramble to get new movers for the next morning which is never easy. They had absolutely no remorse either. 10/6/23 Update: I figured that Bellhop would follow up to this review with a response that was intentionally misleading to future potential customers. So here is an update that addresses the false statements in their response below. "an authorization hold is placed before the move for the cost of the reserved/estimated timeframe." - Correct, and the authorized amount should have been $59.70 based on my signed contract. You attempted to place a hold for $90, which was based on an estimate that I never agreed to. This discrepancy of $30 is why I was successfully able to dispute this charge. "it has come to our attention that there was an adjustment to your original estimate (from 3 hours to 4 hours), leading to a change in the estimated price." - As I have said again and again, this was not an adjustment as nothing changed in my original reservation. This was a mistake made by your company (either intentionally or unintentionally) that has led you to refuse to even acknowledge the actual contract that we had in place. Don't play with words to try and make your company look like it was not at fault. "we would like to extend a goodwill gesture by waiving the late cancellation fee associated with your reservation".- Although I do happen to have an MBA, I don't need it to know that it is not a goodwill gesture to waive a fee that was illegal to have charged in the first place. We both know I wasn't paying it because you didn't have any proof to send to my credit card company that I owed it. True goodwill would have you taking authentic accountability for your mistakes as well reimbursing me for stress related to dealing with this experience. And given that their prices are probably higher than average, I don't think this "free" service is going to be helpful to many people. I have tried to dis-enroll via text as well as email, so hopefully I get removed from this mailing list. Also, I think the you can find local moving companies at a much better price. I accepted their quote because I actually thought I was paying for a better customer service experience. But other quotes were closer to $400, which makes sense because it was very easy move (less than two hours total, no stairs or major furniture disassembly). I found out the day before my scheduled move that I would not be able to get my keys until 1pm. My move was scheduled for the morning, so I attempted to reschedule for later in the day but they did not have availability. I requested to cancel and they said there was a $200 cancelation fee. I then requested the following morning so as not to eat the fee, which they had available, but apparently the $200 fee would still apply. As a single mom and teacher, I did appreciate this whatsoever. I would have been OK having to pay $50 for the following day, but I was not about to pay almost $900 to move into a two bedroom apartment. I also have a broken wrist so tomorrow should be fun. When I contacted Bellhop to book POD loading, I initially spoke with Eli in customer service. Eli, who provided excellent customer service, mentioned that the "free move" I was receiving through OfferPad would also cover unloading my POD. At the time, I did not have the unload date and was asked to call back when I did have it. Upon calling Bellhop back to provide the unload date/address, I was told by two other customer service agents (on two different occasions) that the request had been entered and I would receive a call. Each time, I waited for a call or email from Bellhop but received neither. This morning (the day before my load and POD pickup), I called again and spoke with Kristin who was also very pleasant. Instead of saying someone would call me back, Kristin asked me to hold while she found someone who could assist me right away. Upon being transferred, I began by sharing the information I had with dates and names of the individuals I'd spoken with only to be interrupted by Tripp who informed me that the unload is not always covered by OfferPad and that Bellhop had reached out to OfferPad to no avail. There was no accountability for Bellhop's lack of communication or misinformation (only references to Bellhop emails possibly going to spam -- which was not the case because I check my spam folder consistently). There was no empathy displayed -- considering that Bellhop was just now providing me with this information the morning before my service was scheduled. There was no attempt to provide a solution to this situation on Bellhop's end -- only a condescending tone instructing me to contact OfferPad and accusations of constantly interrupting (when I was the one interrupted initially). This led to a shift in my tone, a request to speak with a supervisor, and a mention that I would be reviewing my negative customer service experience with Bellhop. Tripp informed me that my request to speak with a supervisor would be entered and that if/when available, Melissa would contact me. Tripp also stated that the recording of my initial conversation with Eli would be reviewed to verify if I was told that the unload would be provided (which implies dishonesty on my part). Where was Bellhops many many years ago! Trey N, Ryan B, Kamen M, Jeffrey W took only 55 minutes to move me out of a larger than usual one-bedroom condo and I do have a lot of stuff. The condo building required them to go up and down a long stairway outside to the truck. I was told that the move would be from 4-7pm and that there is a possibility it might run over 7pm due to the stairs and then rush hour traffic on a Friday. Because of the traffic, it took 50 minutes to the location of my storage unit and after all was unloaded from the truck, it was 6:20pm. It started it great, until they realized they under estimated the size of the truck. They left a patio table, fire pit, 6 lamps, and a large painting and told me I'd have to move it myself. They also moved a desk unassembled and said they leave it the way they found it. When they put a bed together and couldn't get the power lift to work they tried to leave it that way, saying they had another appointment When I called to complain I was told that it would cost $617 for a return visit but they would compensate me for the trouble. My first yelp review, and it is not going to be a good one. So I was supposed to use them Saturday afternoon. They should have shown up around 2:00, but they called the night before and said 3:00, then they called the day of the move and said 6:00. The guy called me at 5:00 and told me that I needed to pay for a uhaul to get the move done, and I needed to drive the uhaul. I asked how much they were going to charge me then, he said the same. Being that I felt a scam coming on, I just canceled my appointment and booked with someone else. The price I paid I was told was including the truck, something was clearly going on. They did not complete the service as it was booked. They did not communicate scheduling issues until the last minute, and left me in a lurch to have movers finish the job that they started. I would not recommend this place due to their lack of communication, poor time management and lack of professionalism. For the record, they were Making three total stops: first at a one bedroom apartment, then a two bedroom apartment with the final location being a three bedroom apartment in the same neighborhood- The distance between both stops was not even 10 minutes. Somehow it took them an hour to get between the first location in the final destination. This was all cleared and squared away with their booking department and I was given four hours and two movers to complete the job. I was also told that there was flexibility in the time allotted, and if I went over the four hours that would be an extra charge that I agreed to. I got a call after 2 1/2 hours saying their movers had prior engagements and were unable to make the second stop and had to go to the final destination only. The lady who called me was incredibly rude saying The movers had prior engagements and there's nothing she could do. She refused to send out a second team to finish the job that I had paid for and only said to wait for a call from Quality Control to handle the situation. read more

RUN AWAY. Do NOT use this joke of a company. We reserved a 2hr slot with 2 movers. One of those movers cancelled at the last minute, leaving us with 1 guy to unload a U-Haul filled with furniture and boxes, including items that REQUIRED 2 people. The company never sent another person to help. Instead, 3 of us helped the 1 mover get the job done (so we did the bulk of the work ourselves). When we called to rectify the situation, the company took $30 off the bill (a whopping ~10%!!). What if we had been elderly or disabled and couldn't help? Unacceptable. read more

I don't know where to start. Just don't call, you'll save yourself so much money. They ask you what your moving and how far. They quote you and send it. The movers show up. They're cussing at the company because they're over booked. Then took it out on our homes. They damaged both houses, all door jams. Broke glass shelves in the china cabinet and the doors they took unnecessarily took off the hinges, well they couldn't get them back on. When I filed a claim they emailed a letter saying $100. This would've been a 5 star rating if Kevin would've helped. Kyle and Ishmial were AWESOME!! They worked very hard and diligently. However, their leader was lazy. He was so lazy my husband and I became Bell hops. Kevin was handing my husband boxes off the truck as if he worked for the company. He claimed to be the "arranger" and stayed on the truck the entire time. Not to mention he took personal cell phone calls during the move. It wasn't until I asked him why he was still on the truck that he finally got off and started to help. Smh. One would think he'd help from the jump, but he didn't because he was the "arranger". The only work he did was walk through our apartment 30 minutes early to look. We felt so bad for Kyle and Ishmial because they did all the work but we're pud the least. We refused to tip because we didn't want the tip equally split with their lazy leader. It took 3 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment to the next building. 3 beds, 17 boxes, 1 sectional and a Dresser. Insane! We don't blame Kyle or Ishmial because they did the best they could and moved as fast as they could without having the help of a dolly. However, if their lazy leader would've helped, it would've been an hour and 45 minute move max! That's what it took the last company to move us. There was no excuse for their lazy leader to stay on the truck when it was time to unload. He did everything possible to avoid doing any manual labor. Had we known, we would've gotten 4 bell hops since only 3 would've been working. We paid for 3 but only got the service of 2. I gave three stars because after filing our complaint, the company refunded our money. They worked very fast to clear up the matter. We were super happy to use Bellhops. Our movers were James, Kyle, Ryan, and Logan. They were super friendly, very efficient, and careful with our stuff! We live in a huge apartment complex and we had storage cubes arriving with all our stuff. We love that Bellhops was able to accommodate a reservation with only 36 hours notice, and that the movers were able to navigate a bit of a complicated process so well. None of our stuff was damaged between the cubes and our apartment. The guys were so gracious and wonderful. It was 116 out when they were moving and they didn't complain or slow down a bit! Just following up on my disastrous move with Bellhop Movers. After they called me at 5pm Wednesday the day before my move on Thursday morning and told it needed to be scheduled the next day on Friday morning at 8am. Then they sent an email on Thursday night and said they had to cancel my move. They sent me an emailed apology form letter. So on Friday morning the day of my "rescheduled" move I'm looking for a mover who will show up. I finally found Simpson Family Movers and spoke with Mark Anthony. He said he was in the process of moving someone else and could get to me no later then 2pm. He showed up at 10am!! So these two affable, polite and professional moved my apartment in 3 hours! They did an excellent job. The very best moving experience I've ever had. Maybe Bellhop Movers should become real Bellhops and then they just need to show up once and then the customers would come to them. But you got to SHOW UP that one time. Good Luck. read more

I booked a Sunday move, which I was surprised but grateful to see was available, as that worked best for my schedule. The team reached out the day prior, requesting photos of my belongings, confirming I would see them at 8:00 the next morning. 8:00 came and went, 9:00... so I called and the mover let me know the truck didn't show up so they couldn't complete the move and would need to come back in the afternoon. Bellhop support was no help, and asked me to relay messages to the movers and used me as the middle man in their communication to the movers. Not sure why they couldn't call them themselves. I got a call before noon that the move would be completed on Wednesday, three days later. Obviously that wouldn't work for me and I had to scramble at the last minute to find new movers on a Sunday. All My Sons movers went out of their way to find a team in the valley that could complete my move at the last minute and saved the day! A HUGE thanks to the staff and movers at Bellhop! Everything was extremely efficient with scheduling and the movers arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled time! :-) I went from a first floor apartment to a third floor and I heard no grumblings etc from the moving staff even though I had some awkward and heavy antique items. The movers were very efficient and made sure everything was strapped out securely in the truck. Finally, I had scheduled the move time for 4 hours but the move was complete in 3 1/2 and I was only charged for that time. Terrible customer service. They lost my claim and then said they will put me in the queue the next day. If I was late on submitting my claim I would be SOL if they lose your claim you are SOL. They win either way. But they did say sorry.... Young guys moving with little supervision. Found out when I wasn't around they were throwing boxes around. Exploded a couple cans of tire foam all over everything and didn't say anything. Broke a message chair and tried to just lay the broken pieces in place. Multiple Reasons Not to Hire This Company we weren't paying for our move, Offer pad had agreed to use their moving company ( this one I'm reviewing) then after close of escrow on home purchase, Offer pad reneged on their escrow deal to move us, and cancelled this mover unbeknownst to us. Come moving day, this company never showed, not their fault, however what ever happened to notification from someone. (#1 reason) 2. They require a detailed list, of course this list requires printing, filling out and sending back a detailed list of every item I'm moving . No biggie I say, however, no follow up call to discuss items and when we attempt to call to discuss items, I never did get my call answered by a person (waited 45 min), I finally had to hang up and either text, or email them. So I did email them, do u think I received a response, oh no. (0 stars) 3. The day we were able to make a reservation for our move, of course we called and waited and waited and waited some more and finally about 30 minutes or so into the wait, I gave up and called back saying I wanted to arrange a move. Well, that got a response. They answer the phone in like 1 to 2 minutes and I learned a lesson from this . (0 stars) 4. I did get ahold of a support person when no one showed on moving day. (Went through support for purchasing a move since that's the fastest and only way to speak to a human) and he was very nice and waited in the phone with me until management, who came on the line to advise me of the move cancellation. ( 5 stars for him) 5. Last but not least, the price is astronomical and will cost u at least 2x what regular moving services charge. (0 stars) 6.
