    Mezzaluna
    Dorothy L.

Dinner before Kleinhans. Had an early dinner sadly in an empty restaurant. We started with Chianti and they brought out these great homemade garlic rolls. I had the Mezzaluna (baked macaroni w /ricotta, breaded chicken & mozzarella. It was good but they need to use larger plates because the food was falling off the sides when I tried cutting my chicken. Our waitress was very attentive and the restaurant is real cute. There were a couple tables occupied when we left just before 6pm.

A smaller local place. Went in at 730 on a Thursday and we got the last table. Let's start with the food. Rate 4.5 The gnocchi was very good. Slightly undercooked but still so good. Great sauce with a little sweetness and some ricotta cheese. Delicious Staff. Charlene was our waitress. And looking around she was doing a lot of extra things. But she still has time for us, gave us good recommendations and help. Once in a while you get a gem. She is one of those. Beer choices pretty good for a smaller place.

This place was a nice Italian spot on Niagara street! Right upon entering, I really liked the restaurants environment. It was definitely renovated recently, and had very nice decorations. The hostess and server was super nice and helpful when deciding drinks and food. We started with the arinici, which are fried rice and peas in a ball. This was my first time having it, and I LOVED it! I got the homemade ricotta gnocchis, and it was also incredible. I would definitely come back on the gnocchis alone!

Why didn't I come here sooner?? This place was *AMAZING*. The staff are so kind and friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting aesthetically. Marco's has a set menu but also a great variety of specials, which our waittress gave us on a smaller, handwritten menu. They also have a bar with a great drink selection, and our waittress was very helpful at giving us suggestions. We ordered the arancini, chicken cutlets alla vodka (a special), chicken parmagiana, and some dessert to go. This food was insanely delicious. It tasted like it was made with simple, quality ingredients, and the portion sizes were fantastic for the price. The dessert, made by the owner's mother, was also fantastic - we got a cannoli and cassatta cake and every bite was sublime. I can't wait to come back!

My mom, sister and I went to Marco's for the first time during Restaurant Week. After reading through some reviews, we ordered the antipasto and breaded artichokes. The salad is huge and had the freshest ingredients. The artichokes also came with a large portion and delicious garlic aioli. For our meals, my mom and I ordered off the restaurant menu. I got the pasta and vodka sauce and she got the carbonara. It came with a salad and a dessert. We chose the Italian wedding soup, which was really the only thing I didn't care for. It was quite greasy and I didn't finish it. The pasta was amazing and had a great flavor with some pancetta and other tasty spices. I would order this again 100%. My mom also liked the carbonara. My sister ordered the chicken Marsala off the menu and had only complementary things to say about it. We finished our meal with our included cannoli and a piece of peanut butter pie. Great job to Marco's staff/chef! We will be back.

Bread roll and glass of villa sparing Gavin white wine

Greeted promptly and seated quickly. I started with a white Italian wine Villa Sparina light crisp and refreshing. My entree was the baked cod and spinach with a side of spaghetti. Fish smothered with spinach in a white wine lemon and butter was cooked perfectly. A good sized piece of cod with spinach and lemon wedges accompanied the dish. The spaghetti in house made red sauce was thick and covered the pasts. The sauce was sweet and flavorful. I also had a glass of red wine from Italy pasque rosso (baby amarone) It was delicious. For dessert I enjoyed the Cassata cake it was light and a great finish to another Great meal. I highly recommend this establishment.

The calamari was excellent, the veal parmesan very good. The eggplant in the eggplant parmesan was fine, but not as interesting as I've had elsewhere. Good sauce though. Only 4 stars because it was too loud to have an easy conversation, and it took 20 minutes to get a menu and 45 to get the wine we ordered ...and I had to go hunt it down. I like the look of their new interior, but they need some sound dampening

So on Thursday 2/23/23 Marco's opened for lunch (just that day) and it was delicious. Been going for years but they stopped doing lunch awhile ago. The good news is the "sangwiches" and other pizzas are available at dinner. Maybe he'll even make you the verde formaggio one at dinner. Ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan, topped with arugula. The chicken cutlet was large, perfectly breaded and fried, and on the most delicious housemade focaccia.

Eggplant Palm... enjoyed it. This is the lunch portion... crazy big!
    Dalv C.

Came by here for a quick lunch. Food here is a plenty so your lunch can also easily be your dinner.... big portions. 1) Place is clean and welcoming. We were quickly greeted and sat. 2) Waitress was friendly and attentive. 3 Food was good. Had the lentil soup and Eggplant Palm. Excellent. Overall, I recommend you this place and will be returning soon. Please give them a try for yourself.

Special, Penne in Marsala cream sauce with herb chicken and carmelized onions.

We were in town attending a large national conference for families affected by their condition, and many conference attendees were also staying at the hotel. When we arrived, the restaurant appeared to be about 80% empty. Our children mentioned to the waitress that they were hungry and tired, and the first response we received was, "Do you have a reservation?" She explained that they couldn't seat us because they were expecting a large party. Instead of being seated at a regular table, we were directed to the bar area, where the bartender kindly took care of us despite the fact that our group included two minors. We stayed for over an hour, and during that time, the large party never arrived. Meanwhile, we watched other guests without reservations get seated at tables without any apparent issue. The experience left us feeling singled out and, ultimately, discriminated against. Whether that was the intention or not, it reflected a disappointing lack of empathy and inclusion--especially considering that so many families with children with disabilities were staying at the hotel for the conference. I'm giving Bella Ciao three stars because the food was decent, the portions were generous, and the bartender provided good service. Unfortunately, the way we were treated upon arrival overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

I took my son there for lunch the other day, and we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who as it turns out, I knew from his previous restaurants stops. I hadn't seen him in about 15 years, but I recognized him instantly. Great service, polite and courteous staff, and delicious fresh food, are my initial reactions. I was surprised how good the San Franco pizza was! I also had a bowl of Pasta Fasola which was outstanding. I live in the city of Buffalo between Delaware and Elmwood and there are many pizza places around here, plus, I grew up on Bocce on Bailey pizza. However, the Forno Napoli pizza now ruins all others for me. I have never been to Italy, but I imagine this is what pizza is like there. Authentic and fresh. I'm taking all 3 of my kids back there tonight. Trying their salads and pasta as well. This place was very busy on a weekday at 4pm, so it is not a secret. It is also not cheap. I enjoyed my pizza, although I wouldn't order this one again. I do want to say that it is pricey but you will get a very big pie of great quality. The dough was excellent! It was actually my favorite part and I've never said that about any pizza! Atmosphere is extremely casual. There's fruit infused waters to have and you go and grab them yourself (back right corner). But you can order bottles of soda, alcohol, etc. Also in the back right corner are small pizza boxes for leftovers you can grab if needed. I can't stop thinking about the penne ala vodka we ordered. The portions are large and meant for sharing, but my husband and I both agreed we want our own orders next time. It was that good! The mozzarella sticks had a huge cheese pull. The chicken Parmesan was so crispy and saucy, absolutely delicious. Everything was enjoyable and picture perfect. They let us sample a few wines before deciding on a bottle, which was a local Niagara wine and delicious! Started with the focaccia, Caesar, and mozz sticks by popular demand. Incredible! Somehow the mozz sticks are perfectly melted inside and not like that string cheese you brought for lunch, definitely a much try. The Caesar was MASSIVE and arguably one of the best I've ever had. We brought more than half home. For entrees we had the chicken piccata, gnocchi with cream sauce, chicken parm and spaghetti. Everything was incredible, oddly enough with the exception of the chicken parm! It was served in a large bowl with sauce so it wasn't able to retain any crispiness and my husband did find it to be a bit bland. However the pastas and piccata were incredible. I think the parm would be massively improved with differently plating! We had affogato for dessert and the brownie with ice cream followed by an espresso martini which were all divine. Service was fast and efficient, which they need for such a tiny place! All in all a great first time at Rizzos, with wonderful traditional Italian flavors and incredible service to match. Would have preferred a crispier parm but portions are huge and we literally left with 6 takeout boxes! Can't wait to visit again!
