I have never given this low of a review but I can't believe how bad of a service I received today…read more First off two things that stuck out: no lotion and no kneck massage while drying which I've had hundreds of manicures and that's protocol, especially if you tip while like I did. The lady who did my nails was straight up RUDE. she didn't ask my preference for anything and went way too deep with the cubicles. She got up at least twice mid manicure to do other things and one of the other ladies came over and started whispering while staring at my nails. I didn't even get a good manicure after going through all of that. The end product is streaky and I could have done a better job myself. Half of my nail looks like it has a second coat and he other half looks like it doesn't. Not to mention it's chipping already, less than 4 hours later. Extremely disappointing. As I read in other reviews, they don't walk you to the dryer or instruct you how to use it they just stop with the top coat and point. I ended up messing up one of my nails trying to figure out how the dryer worked. I listened to the lady giving a pedicure and she seemed to have a relationship with her client, so maybe she does a good job but the lady I had was enough to make me stay away for good. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE... unless you want to leave feeling blown off and angry.

I haven't made it down here in a while since Bry's Nails opened and is much closer to me, but they were closed and I needed a pedicure, so I made the trek down to H&K recently. I got there around two hours before closing time and the wait on a weekday was around a half hour. I had no other options at this point, so I decided to wait it out. It was super busy, they actually ended up turning a few people away who came in after me. Once I was in the chair all went well. My nail tech was super professional and did an excellent job. The nail color selection here is okay but not as robust as other nearby spots. But all in all, a good, centrally located nail salon.

I went to the salon on a Thursday, 11:30am for a regular manicure ($13). Had called the day before to make an appointment, got there a bit late (that's why the bigger tip) but the ladies seemed very relaxed about it. The salon was empty & they were very casual & chatty. Fenny greeted me first & I could tell she's probably very good at nail design & detail. However, the head tech on the far left station, next to the sinks did my manicure. It's a dry (used electric filing tool to do my cuticles), no lotion, no massage experience. And the tech used a dirty (had a smear of purple polish in the middle) warm washcloth as the "hot treatment/cleaning" part. I meditated & lowered my expectations & went with the flow. Let her finish up, things look average & it wasn't until my nails were dry and I got outside that I noticed the poor quality. Application: right hand looked okay but polish got on a few of the cuticles & had to carefully remove it at home. Left hand nail polish layers were bumpy & uneven. I noticed the tech painting strokes at an angle, and then at the end, felt her dab my index finger weirdly. It's easy to mess up enamel application & with a nude color like that - of course it'll show when dry! The salon is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks. The pedicure furniture and manicure stations are clean and well kept. Decor is actually cute & having the sinks in the middle of the room seems so convenient. There's an AMAZING amount of gel & regular color options! But the whole experience just involved a lot of chatter & minimal attention to detail. Not sure if I'll be back, maybe I'll request Fenny (a client came in with long red gels for her). Or maybe the staff doesn't like doing regular mani's anymore?

I had my nails done today by one of the sisters . She is one of the owners .This sister yelled at me years ago for leaving gel on my hands and not pre-soaking . The salon was literally dead silent and there was no need to yell at me across the salon . If I would have known that was protocol , I obviously would have mentioned that to her beforehand. Not to mention they have signs all over the salon , so why wouldn't you slap one up with the rest ? Interesting . I still continued to come to the salon because Diana and Rosa are great nail techs . My nails today look like straight garbage. Literally cut me 2x and left glue under my nails . Didn't even bother to clean them up and didn't bother to help me move my stuff to the dryers . I truly feel bad for the nail techs that work there because they watch over them like hawks . They treat the girls like they don't know what they are doing . O wait , forgot to mention she ordered food during my service LOL. Literally can't make it up . Straight up rude and disrespectful. Not to mention I dropped $68 and still tipped her . The pedicure chairs are incredibly comfortable and feel truly high-end. Vicky did my pedicure and was so gentle, precise, and meticulous. The finished result looked very clean and polished. The salon has a wide variety of colors to choose from, and carry both OPI and Essie polishes which are my go-tos. On my last visit here I came at around 12 pm on a Tuesday for a regular manicure and pedicure and was able to be taken right away. I picked out a color and my manicurist got to work on my pedicure. She was very thorough and quick, which I appreciated. I opted for a 10 minute back massage as well while my nails dried which was also great. I paid $45 for a manicure, pedicure and 10 minute massage which I think is more than reasonable for the area. The salon itself is a little run down and colors are disorganized but for the price and service, I'm willing to overlook it.
