I called my Allstate auto because my car broke down at the gas station. They notified me that the recovery was going to be at least two hours before rescued. They contracted out Bellmore towing. They arrived in less than an hour and the service agent they sent out was top notch! Not only did he do his thing he made sure he explained what he was going to do and kept us in the loop the whole while. Business refused to help with a battery jump service to roll up a window, requested through AAA twice on a car that has plates and is parked on private property. I'm not entirely sure if they dislike having customers or what but I highly suggest you find alternative solutions. read more

Ask for 1 job to be done and gets bill for things not supposed to be done. Poor customer service would not recommend

SCAM. Used them when Allstate sent them to me for a tow. They solicited me saying they'd figure out what was wrong with the car. They not only couldn't figure out what was wrong with it but tried to explain to me I now have to pay for every hour they looked at the car. I have already notified Allstate, the better business bureau on this company as they tried to take advantage of me when I had no other option since the car was dropped off at their shop. I've heard of other people that have used them for towing/repairs and heard horror stories and now I know why. I have AAA and called for a jump start for a car in my driveway. The tow truck driver was very rude and looked for any reason not to jump my car. I had a Temporary registration from NYS and because it on the windshield as a sticker he walked away from the call . Very un professional.Also my neighbor had a similar experience with same driver . Car repairs are never a happy surprise. Imagine letting your daughter who lives in NYC use your vehicle for a few months only to have it break down over 400 miles from home and getting quoted an astronomical price by the dealership (no surprise). Thank God for the guys at Bellmore Towing! They were so patient while I had a minor freak out and l can't say enough great things about this team. They looked my car over top to bottom and repaired what had to be done to make the car safe and drivable. I had a 100 questions and called as many times and they never sounded annoyed with me. My inconvenienced daughter was the only person giving me grief. It's anxiety provoking as a woman to need car repairs, let alone so close to the holidays. Sorry, but that's just how it is. These guys were so honest and fair. I haven't had that peace of mind since my local mechanic decided to retire a couple years ago. The nerve!!! lol. My son's car wouldn't start. I assumed it was the battery, so I called AAA and they connected us with Bellmore Towing. Jesus met us at the car and tried EVERYTHING in his power to get us going again, including calling a colleague (who was on vacation!) to try and troubleshoot. Ultimately it wasn't the battery and we had to get the car towed but I can't say enough about how great the experience was despite not having an immediately resolution. read more

Needed a truck towed for a slipped belt and called AAA. Bellmore tow was dispatched to tow the truck to my house where I could do the repairs. Upon arrival he spoke to my brother who was in the car and also on the AAA account and accused my brother of fraud since he wasn't the one who called (my father was). After managing to get the truck to my house he started the car on the flatbed after being told numerous times the car can't be started. Ended up shredding the belt and when confronted continued to say "you weren't who you said you were." And refused to pay for the parts. All in all bellmore towing is horrible with customer service and taking responsibility for their mistakes. They don't care about your cars, just your money. Stay away. read more

I am so pleased with this company you have no idea! Let me tell you, it's hard to find a genuinely good and honest towing company who wants to help. I was assigned this company through my roadside assistance. My car needed to be towed to the dealership and the guy Mike who came to tow my car even gave me a curiosity call to ask if i needed to get anything out of my vehicle before he left the site. He was also very thorough in how he towed my vechile, took pictures also. (I wasn't at the scene at the time of his arrival) He ensured me that my vehicle was properly placed on top of his truck and ready to go. Such a nice man to speak with (unlike the other company who was assigned to tow my car, I won't even mention that company) If I could give 10 stars I would, this company cares, they care about people. We called AAA to get assistance for our car that wouldn't start. We said it was possible that the problem was the starter or the alternator, but that we were 99% sure it was the battery. An hour later, someone from Bellmore Towing showed up. The man from Bellmore Towing was there for less than five minutes, and barely even attempted to diagnose the problem. In fact, he had to call his shop to ask what his initial diagnostic results even meant. He was unable to get our car started and told us that the problem was either the battery, the alternator or the starter (exactly what we already knew), and that we needed to call AAA back and to get the car towed to his shop (Bellmore Towing). When pressed for explanation about what he had done, or attempted to do, to resolve our issue, he said, "my job here is done. Call AAA and get it towed." This man's level of competence was bad enough, but his attitude was worse. Rude and stupid is a bad combination, and Bellmore Towing: if you're reading this, you ought to be embarrassed. Immediately after he left, we called AAA back and explained our level of dissatisfaction and asked them to send a different mechanic for a second opinion. A half hour later a mechanic showed up, got our car started and said we had a dead battery, but that our alternator was fine. He told us to leave the car idling long enough for the battery to charge. He then explained that if we experienced the same problem over the course of the next few weeks, it meant that the battery was not holding the charge the way it should be and at that point we should consider a new battery. Bellmore Towing should have been able to both diagnose and fix this issue easily, but if they did, they wouldn't have had a reason to tow our car to their shop. Ultimately, Bellmore Towing offers a poor attitude, an incompetent staff and disingenuous diagnostics. Take your car elsewhere. (Side note: if anyone from AAA is reading this, you may want to reconsider Bellmore Towing's AAA authorization when it comes up for renewal, it is not doing the AAA brand any favors. Whatever fee they're paying isn't worth the damage they're causing to your reputation.) read more

Was going to have my vehicle towed to a mechanic shop . Called my insurance company who decided to use Bellmore Towing. After they were two hours late I called to see what was going on. Rude people answering the phones, no customer service whatsoever so I cancelled the tow. At the three hour mark I received a rude call asking about the tow, they were so unorganized they had not told their driver that I had cancelled. He was in front of my residence expecting to tow my vehicle three hours later than I was told they would be there. He hung up on me when I told him that I had cancelled over an hour ago. If you're looking for terrible customer service, being spoken to rudely and being scammed out of your money, this is the business for you. If I could give this place -10 stars, I WOULD! I skidded off the road and called AAA for a tow, they sent this company. When the tow truck driver arrived, he offered to have the car towed to their shop. I declined because I already had a designated shop where I wanted my vehicle towed to. It seemed he was not happy about that because the shop was in Queens and we were in Merrick. He took photos of my vehicle, took the car key and my dad came to get me. Not even two minutes after we pulled off, the dispatcher from Bellmore called me and told me they wouldn't be able to tow my vehicle because it's stuck in a ravine and ditch (they couldn't make up their simple minds as to which one it was because neither of this was true). Let's keep in mind, I have a small vehicle, my little Nissan Sentra was stuck in muddy grass because it had been raining. They tried to charge me $350 saying they needed TWO tow trucks to get my car out, they needed a commercial tow truck to tow my tractor trailer Nissan Sentra (clearly being sarcastic here). I knew they were trying to rip me off and immediately called them out on this. The guy on the phone became extremely rude and nasty and told me it's not his fault I drove my car into a ditch off the side of the road. Needless to say, he was told about himself and we declined their services any further. I told the guy on the phone I would be coming back for my car key and all of a sudden he was confused and had no idea what I was talking about. I came back to the scene with my father to find my car sitting there and the key was left on the driver seat. My car was left unattended on the side of the road by these people and cops were called. When the cops arrived, they said they would help .... they were not a help. The help they called in fact was this same scamming ass towing company. After an hour of frustration and wasted time, my dad was able to get the car out of this imaginary ditch himself with some effort. The tow truck driver and the police officers watched as my dad drove the car out of this "ditch/ravine" with their jaws dropped because they were shown how stupid and wrong they were. I would NEVER recommend this towing company to anyone and pity anyone who believes this is a reputable business. I hope AAA drops them, they are undeserving. Please take my advice and STEER CLEAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! read more

My car died while I was in East Meadow and called AARP for assistance, they patched me through to Bellmore Towing. They were there in approximately 30 minutes. I had to be towed to Queens and rode with the driver to my mechanic. I cannot not say enough nice things about this young man Chris, he made me feel so at ease. We talked most of the way, so pleasant and concerned. I don't know if the rest of your drivers are like Chris but if they are your company has much to be proud of. Ok so I've been having a really horrible year, week, month you name it. My health is in the toilet and my neighbors are the worst pieces of dogshit on planet earth. They are the most rude obnoxious assholes ever. We had a block party on Aug 11th so I had to move my car to albermarle street and then the trouble started. I couldn't start the car. Yes I tried jumping it. Wouldn't hold a charge so between all my dr appts and work and no money I didn't have time to fix it I left the car there for a week and holy God you would think I shit on the neighbors steps or something I got nasty notes. Them coming over my house which btw how did they know where I lived, creepy and threatening me etc. So they also got a cop to give me a ticket which I will fight SO anyway I finally was able to get it towed to a service station. John was so damn nice and helpful I was in tears as it was a tough day all around bad news about my health etc and he told me he would take care of it all .And boy did he. Him and Dan I believe took care of the car fixed ALL of the issues and did it at a super fair price. Im shocked actually. They did it all in one day too. So now im back on the road and happy. I've been a customer of this business several years, but now I'm done with them. Worst automotive customer service ever, topped with attitudes. Upon my last visit to them for auto repair, my car was returned to me in worse condition than when I brought it to them this very cold past week. I brought the car in because the heat was taking longer than normal to kick in. But it worked eventually. I got the car back, being told they needed to order a part, and now the heat did not work at all on this frigid Friday evening, near single digit actual outside temperature. Wife called them next day on a frigid Saturday morning, 8 degrees, only to be told, to call them back on Monday. Call them back on Monday!! They offered no assistance for the problem that they escalated, other than to tell me they changed the air direction so it comes out at the defroster level, (upper vents), which it didn't before. Wife told them the air is ice cold! And stays ice cold! No other response from them. I have children I have to transport. I was forced to do so in 8 degree weather the next two days, with no heat in the car. Thank you Complete Automotive Repair of Bellmore! Thanks for nothing. Do not bring your vehicle here. The fact that they are "AAA Recommended" means absolutely nothing. Do not forget that! There are other recommended roadside service organizations which I am currently looking into. I had contacted AAA twice by email about this and I have yet to receive a response. I tried calling AAA first, but I hung up after being on hold for 1 hour and 12 minutes, waiting for a AAA rep to come on the line. I have since brought my car to a new mechanic. The heat is working great, at less cost than what I was quoted from Complete Automotive Disrepair in Bellmore. This place really went sour. Very bad service to regular customers is a good way to lose those customers. They've succeeded. I don't like that I had to leave this rotten review, but they deserve it. Stay away! Don't ever use! After calling Lexus Roadside Assist for a tow they dispatched Bellmore Tow. Called at 630am and they arrive at 845am. When they called at 815am and I questioned the time he dismissively states "Yea you got caught between the morning and night shift it's going to be another 30 minutes." No apology, no service recovery, no attempts of expediting, very bad attitude. Mind you they're 5 minutes away and I was initially told they'd be here at 750am. Never again, bad attitude! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I would stay away from using this shop and it's tow company. If you are involved in an accident and, because of the TOH Rotation Tow Program, you are forced to use them, have your car towed to a shop that you want to use no matter if there is a charge for it. The TOH has very strict regulations regarding its Rotation Tow Program; they have set rates that cannot be changed by the tow company. My car was involved in an accident two weeks ago and Bellmore towing was the company that responded to tow it from the scene. I was in a rush and had them take it to their shop, which they had told me was in Bellmore, because I knew the car was totaled and I wasn't going to need to have it fixed. The town of Hempstead sets the hook up charge at $175, $25 per day for storage, and $5 for each additional mileage after the first mile. My car was at the shop from Wednesday until Monday. I had planned on picking it up Friday after July 4th but no one told me they were closed until Monday. Anyway, when I went to pick my car up and pay the bill, they charged me $25 a day for the first three days and $50 a day for each day after the third day. They had also charged me a $45 clean up fee for throwing something down on the oil that was on the roadway. In addition, they towed my car to Freeport, which added about 4 miles to the tow, and told me it was their "satellite lot". I questioned both the charges and the location where it was towed. The person who I spoke to, very arrogantly and rudely, shrugged his shoulders and said "that's the price. That's what you pay. It's not my problem." I ended up paying it to avoid any further argument. I then called the TOH and had them confirm the rates for their tow program. He told me there is no clean up fee unless it is something out of the ordinary and the storage charge is set at $25 a day. He was also very surprised and annoyed to hear about their "satellite lot" in Freeport since the only address listed on their license was on Merrick Road in Bellmore. I went back to Bellmore Towing and told him I spoke to the TOH Tow Inspector who told me the charges were inflated and not legitimate charges. He shrugged his shoulders and said "whoever you spoke to doesn't know what he is talking about". I left. Ten minutes later he called me back and said, "they must have changed the rules this year about the storage price. I just looked and you're right. I'll refund you $75". I questioned how he wouldn't know about the alleged change since it's July and this isn't their first tow this year. He said "you want to argue or do you want your refund?". I also asked about the clean up fee and the extra miles to Freeport and he said "nah. You have to pay that". I told him that he will be refunding me the rest of the money owed to me and ended the conversation. In the end, the tow inspector from the TOH was very helpful and directed Bellmore Towing to refund me the remaining bogus charges for the clean up and the additional mileage to their "satellite lot". The total refund from their bogus charges was $150. I can only imagine the number of times they have done this to other customers. Be careful. You've been warned. read more

The people who say they were leery of the bad reviews, but used this business anyway, should have gone with their gut. DO NOT use if your are on the fence on this place. I had to get a tow, and the driver who is mentioned poorly several times in these reviews showed up with his bad attitude, and incompetence. I was stuck at a business where people who work with cars are employed, and the were snickering to each other about how bad this man was. One comment was "You picked the wrong tow company". When I said to a worker where I was stuck that I was getting worried, he stated "I've been worried". He seemed to have no idea what he was doing. The worst part is, this was a AAA tow, and I should not have been charged. I called AAA, and they told me the same. The man from the tow got on conference call and was incredible rude, even hanging up on them, and refusing to answer questions.
