We liked it, but we didn't LOVE it! The boxes the food came in were super cute. The tuna crispy rice was a little too crispy, kind of hard to chew, and the tuna was a very soft almost mushy consistency. Definitely not my favorite crispy rice I've ever had. My boyfriend got the combo box, which again was ok, not the worst but not the best sushi i've had. To me the most delicious part of our dinner was the miso eggplant and broccoli bowl with rice. I would order from here just to get another bowl. Overall not bad but I wouldn't order sushi from here again. read more

Needless to say I was very irritated, these guys were so weeded with UberEats tickets everyone that ordered for themselves online or at the window seemed to but push to the back for a bunch of Uber eats orders. The guy packaging the food was so dismissive and closed the window so many times it took me about 20 mins before I can even tell him my name. He'd just open the window shout a Togo orders name and slam it again, not even ask who was there to pick up what. Not only is the service a definite 5 stars, the food reflects this rating as well. I've tried countless sushi restaurants in the area and have eaten at sushi restos around the world, I can say this is definitely in the tops and is without a doubt the best in the neighbourhood. Decided to give Belly Fish a try for delivery after seeing all the Yelper 5-star reviews. But alas, my fellow Yelpers let me down. Food was good, fresh and well packaged, but not quite 5-star rating and definitely NOT best Japanese food in South Florida. As someone who has eaten Sushi all over the World including Japan, this doesn't even come close. Will give them props for having fresh crab meat instead of the imitation of so many sushi joints. But for the price and what you get, smaller portions and the lack of brown rice as requested (either they don't have or forgot) tis is not mind blowing sushi, Belly Fish is relegated to the halls of average at best. I just love this place, their Bento Box's are my absolute favorite and are perfect for sharing. Your cost to value ratio here I think is in the goldilocks zone, is it the highest quality sushimi? No. But its good, and priced at exactly the right spot to reflect that. Yaaas! I found my new go-to place for sushi and more. I ordered the miso eggplant and avocado roll with cucumber. The sushi came in an adorable happy belly box and the cucumber had the most delicate julienne chop I have ever seen on a vegetable. The miso eggplant was a vibrant fresh purple and nicely presented in the bowl and tasted amazing. I'm usually too lazy to write reviews but the food was so good I guess you could say I felt "inspired" lol. I'll be ordering again soon! I turn the corner to go the restaurant and see this 100 foot tall statue, which really surprised me but is actually beautiful. Food was excellent. I am a bit of a sushi snob and there's not a lot of places that use the quality of fish that they are. Their menu is very simple and that's how it should be! Best Japanese food in South Florida. This restaurant launched during covid and it's a really inventive takeout only spot in Gulfstream Park. The owner is heavily involved and it shows. He's also the nicest restaurant owner I know, pausing whenever we walk up to say hello and see how we are. We have a ritual of doing takeout from Belly Fish every Saturday and it's simply perfect. I had opportunity to receive one of the first shipments from this wonderful new place. I was quite intrigued as the whole concept of ghost kitchens is so new and, especially safe, during the pandemic. I am happy to report that belly fish under promises and over delivers. We ordered the crispy rice cakes with salmon and avocado. The texture was just perfect and the taste phenomenal. In addition we had the tuna tostada with avocado which is very smartly built and quite satisfying. I next had different kinds of Nigiri ( essentially the whole menu) The cuts were professional and the amount of rice just right as not to overwhelm.
