Well, the two stars is for the customer service and location. The food is less than mediocre. The Poke Bowls were compartmentalized (a scoop of rice, a scoop of edamame, a scoop of mixed greens) without any sort of a delectable sauce to bring it all together. The calamari came as if there was an abundance of calamari when in actuality, it was minimal calamari and almost half the plate was chunks of fried tempura batter. The carne asada flatbread tasted like a frozen pizza and the ceviche tasted mostly of citric acid. Nothing we ate packed a punch or was memorable, unfortunately. If anything, get a beer and enjoy the view. Staff was very friendly and nice as well. read more

The food, beachfront view of the city, ambiance, and service at the Belmont Brewing Company are top notch. However, getting to the restaurant is difficult because parking near the entrance is limited, and coming up the stairs/ramp from the beachfront city parking lot, you often encounter mentally ill homeless people sleeping/swearing at the world, and in the darkness of night, it's scary. The city WILL NOT send police out. Vulnerable people can be dropped off right at the entrance to the restaurant and the driver can then park and brave it on their own from the parking lot. Maybe having pepper spray would make you feel safer. Once safely in the restaurant, EVERYTHING was great. I would have given this restaurant five stars except for the stress in accessing it. read more

I loved my fish and chips, a personal benchmark for seafood restaurants. The batter was light and crispy, and the fish was juicy and fresh. The batter didn't overwhelm the natural flavor of the fish, and the flesh was so tender. The fries were good, but they weren't as memorable as the fried fish. My son devoured his fish tacos and salad. With a smile on his face and a thumb up, it's safe to say that it's teenager-approved. We celebrated his 16th birthday here. The owner, David, was helping out on the day. He's kind and welcoming, which demonstrates that this is really a labor of love for him. I am the organizer of the Mutt Run in Long Beach, and we are planning to organize a post-race celebration at this restaurant in February. This is the perfect location for an intimate father-son lunch as well as a large group event. Parking is readily available in the adjacent beach lot, and it's free after 6 pm. read more

This was my daughter and I 1st time here. It's nice and located right near the pier what a great spot. The restaurant is very clean and they play 80's music through. Love that. They even provide throw blankets for chilly nights. We we're greeted as soon as we walk in. Our server Johnathon was very kind and patience and made good recommendations. My meal at Belmont Brewing Company was one of my favorites from this year's trip to California! Not only was their food outstanding, we enjoyed a tasty 6-beer flight with gorgeous views & attentive friendly service. Starting with the food, I'd ordered the soup & salad, and chose the Lobster Bisque with the Shrimp & Peach Salad. The bisque was so good that I actually cleaned the bowl (I mean, Howard helped, but he had his own food, and y'all know I almost never finish anything). The flavor was smooth & rich, with lots of meat. And the salad was so delicious that I ate most of that, too! Not exaggerating, I could not stop eating. Who knew shrimp & peaches were a delicious match? (Maybe everyone but me). I also enjoyed our flight of beers. Six good size tastings for $12 - perfect to share with hubs. Belmont's Strawberry Blonde Ale was my favorite but I enjoyed sampling all of them. We sat on the beach-front patio, though it was quite chilly that Thursday afternoon in late May 2023. That dining area did have heaters that weren't on during our visit, but each table had a blanket or two for diners. Plus, there were clear wind-blocking panels that made the patio much more comfortable without obscuring the views. A couple that pulled in next to us in the Vons lot said we'd be fine parking there. But then a man wandering the lot, wearing a "security" shirt, possibly gaslighted us with a tow warning so we decided to repark. After a quick half circle around the block, we found inexpensive parking in the public beach lot by the pier. $3 later & we didn't have to worry at all about being towed. And if the weather had been more pleasant, we had time left to walk the pier. Hubs enjoyed his wings, and also ordered a side of cole slaw & fries. The fries were really good but I didn't try the wings nor the slaw. The sides were both huge! Belmont Brewing Company was a fantastic find while driving around the Long Beach area. Nice casual restaurant with a great ocean view and even greater selections of beers. Arrived around 6 and for a table in the patio, it took about an hour wait which went by pretty quick. Ordered the ceviche and steamed mussels based on the numerous reviews, and honestly the ceviche could've been better. Chips were on the stale side and the ceviche didn't have enough lime juice. The steamed mussels on the other hand is delicious. Make sure to slurp up all the good broth and dip the garlic bread in to soak up the juices. Also ordered some fish tacos which were delicious and the fig flatbread and that one was a little too sweet for our taste buds, although the crust was crispy and delicious. If you enjoy the taste of IPA, I recommend trying the Tide Cycle. It has a nice smooth taste and isn't as strong compared to other IPAs that I have had. read more

Parking- beach lot and pay at kiosk, it was $4 for about 2 hrs and a short walk to the business Staff- top notch, friendly and competent Beer- good selection and we decided on the strawberry blonde which was really good Food- also a good selection, I considered the fish and chips, the fish tacos, flatbread, but opted for the American Kobe burger...underwhelming...not juicy or flavorful Location- plenty of room with quite a few tables outside that are spaced out nicely and we were lucky that it was a sunny day and not hot, and they were playing great music from the 80s and 90s Prices- on the high side, I noticed a picture of a menu from 5 months ago where my Kobe burger was $18 but it is now $20 read more

In town for a visit and wanted to try something new close to the beach. Belmont has a large indoor area and a large patio with heaters and a wonderful view of the water and pier. The staff was very welcoming and attentive to the tables. The local beer selection is pleasant and I enjoyed an Oatmeal Stout. Menu has a vast options from apps, salads and main courses. I opted for the short ribs, veggies and replaced the mash potatoes with the brussel sprouts. The meal was average. Beef tips were a bit sloppy mess. I love Brussels with crispy leaves and these tasted as they were sitting for quite some time. Outsides were very soft and not what you would expect from grilled sprouts. The location gives a great atmosphere for a cold beer and great views, but would need to give it another visit for food selection as this visit was off the mark. read more

Belmont Brewing is a cool place for drinks and food with a great view of the ocean. Located next to the pier, it's perfect for meeting up with friends if you want to go for a walk afterwards. My family likes this place specifically for its location and have quite enjoyed their food, especially the flatbreads and the fish and chips. The fish and chips portion is generous, coming with four large chunks. The batter is nice and crispy as well! Only thing we've gotten here that we didn't enjoy was the pastrami sandwich because it was extremely salty. After eating half of it, I had to swap my meal with someone. read more

We were in the area and looking for a brewery with restaurant and based on the positive reviews on Yelp were brought to Belmont Brewing. It's right off Ocean Blvd at the end of a small street. Parking is a challenge as you have to drive to another street to park. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating at Belmont Brewery and with it situated right across the boardwalk makes for great ambience. Service was friendly and we were checked on frequently. MOTHER'S DAY EVE AFTERNOON: On 2023.05.13 it was a huge hit.. let me put it this way.... it was like hitting a ball out of Dodgers Stadium and having it hit the ground on the beach in South Carolina. Yeah, that kind of hit. PRAISE: From the quality and quantity of the food served to the wait time (none) to the professionalism of the servers, I truly couldn't have asked for a better couple of guys to be tending to our table. I even faked a bathroom break to pull my server aside to tell him that he is to refuse to take payment from anyone in my group if they offer and I will be paying. At the end of the meal, when he came to grab empty plates, he very slyly took my card... so smooth like an Olympian handing off a baton in a track and field event ... no one had any concept of what took place until later, when I had to sign the merchant copy of the bill. Brilliant! MY ORDER: I am the only one that likes fish in my house, so I never stock up on it. So, when given the chance to have mussels and fish and chips, I did. We recently had an office Holiday Luncheon here and everything was PERFECT! Their service was exceptional and the way they handled our 30+/- orders were excellent! Everything was so organized and we could not be more satisfied. Our waiters and waitresses were very attentive and awesome! I love their fish tacos, poke bowl, soup, and salmon. I was able to sample some of my coworker's choices so I would have a taste! I love how their poke is not premixed and you can do it yourself. It came out like a beautiful salad bowl! The fish in the fish tacos are the same fish in your fish and chips. And I love it when they give you big round pieces of fish and not flat and dried out fried fish. Fries were also really good! Overall, we were all really satisfied! I have been wanting to check them out for a while now since the first time I've known of them was when Costco was carrying their mango cider/beer. It was so delicious!!! Costco does not sell them anymore but you can still get it at the restaurant. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone! I've eaten at this place for many years. Last evening, 9/1/24, was the second time I had less than 100% satisfaction with my dinner. Having recently had a quite satisfactory meal of Fish 'n Chips at another restaurant, and the fact that my earlier experience a few months ago here at the BBC was less than satisfactory with this same dish, I thought I'd give it another try. NOT GOOD. The 4 strips of fried cod were too thin. Skimpy, when compared to another restaurant's fare, and may I say, $6.00 higher in price. I won't say I'm not coming back, b/c there are other choices on their menu, which I have enjoyed over the years. But I won't venture into the Fish 'n Chips entree again. Ug! read more

Our waiter didn't come around for 30 minutes, so we asked two or three different employees that walked by if we had a server. They all said they would find who is serving our table. Our server finally came around and said sorry she'll be back with us in a second. 10 minutes went by, and she never came back. So we went and got a manager to take our order. Our server also told our 96-year-old father to get out of the way pretty rudely while we were waiting to get checked in at the front.
