Today you can basically get anything much cheaper online than from this type of stores, however, I'm willing to pay a premium since I do value the services i receive from the face-to-face interactions with the staff. However, this isn't the case with belmont.
I'm remodeling my whole house right now and need to buy all types of kitchen and bathroom hardware. This store is close-by so I was hoping to buy some items here which could save me some time. The first time I visited here, no one came and asked me any questions or introduced to me any of the products. It's okay, I looked around on my own then left, although I did wish someone could have given me a short intro to the displayed products, I told myself that they might just be too busy.
The next time, I dropped by, still nobody talked to me (I did see their staff sitting at the desk doing nothing). I had a lot of questions, so I approached a skinny blond old lady and asked her my questions. She was not helpful at all, she was cold, aloof, I could clearly feel that she was not willing to help, after about 2 mins, she said she had to left to help an existing customer. She never came back.
I paid another visit here recently hoping to finally talk to someone since it's a weekday and they must be not that busy. I walked in, after 5 mins, nothing, so I talked to a guy sitting at the desk, telling him I was looking to get a quote for my two bathrooms, he then went in and got me the same lady I talked to last time. She was still like that, cold, not friendly, no smiling, I kinda felt that she didn't want to sell to me at all, whatever question I asked her, her answer was always vague and not informative. I showed her the specs of my bathroom and asked her for some recommendations, her attitude was like "whatever you like", I told her I would like to buy a 5" bath tub of a particular brand, she told me there was none, come on, I was looking at the same book, and it was clearly listed there! What does it mean? She just doesn't want to sell to me? About 5-10 mins later, she saw someone came in and just left me in the middle of our conversation!!!!! So darn rude!!!! I was so stupid and waited for her by the counter for about 10-15 mins before I realized she would never come back. (during this 10-15 mins, she didn't even say a word to me knowing I was waiting)
Frankly speaking, I felt deeply hurt and discriminated. Glad that I had enough decency to control myself and told her that I was leaving because apparently she was busy. She gave her biz card and told me she had to help that customer because she was working with her before me. What a liar, I was the only customer in the store when I walked in!!!! I threw her biz card away after I stepped out of that place. who the hell they think they are. I will never ever visit this place again!
I'm not a very sensitive person, so trust me, there WAS something wrong with that lady's attitude. I'm not sure if she serves all the customers this way, if she does, then I will just say that I was so unlucky that I got the wrong person, if she just treated me with that kind of attitude, then I will call it DISCRIMINATION, not sure what triggered that, because I am Asian? or because I can't speak English in a perfect American accent? Come on, here is California. Whatever it is, don't go to this place if you want good services. They do have a good showroom, but people there are just rude and discriminating.
